  1. Oh, that's awful about the cashews since they are low sal. We have wind, super dry weather, and a fire south of us. Air quality sucks big lemons today. Even the dog is depressed. I tried one cookie a few minutes ago and didn't bloat up. Maybe it's a volume thing? Still makes me wonder...,the antihistimine may be suppressing it, too.
  2. Chicken salad, toasted chicken, fried chicken, chicken soup, stuffed chicken breasts.... KIDDING. You're going to need a lot of cider (and a few brooms) or some chicken wire for a fence,
  3. Is there a local Celiac group with a mentor program? That might be helpful if she could have someone to talk to her own age, who is like her.
  4. Get a copy, then post them. You need ranges. And this is why people scope - because kids are notoriously negative on blood work in spite of horrible symptoms. Sometimes they find it on scope when it never shows up on blood work.
  5. Wow. Now you know what to eat if you ever want to join Fight Club. I took an allergy pill and passed out for 3 hours (oops). Feel better (of course) but running late on my day....crap.
  6. I can't being anything intelligent to the discussion but what is the GAF3x?
  7. Are you talking about the organic ground beef (apx 1 1/3 lb pscksge) sold in three packs linked together or hamburger patties? We used the ground beef and I was fine - but I'm not super sensitive. If they have premade patties I haven't tried those.
  8. I bought them when I first went gluten-free. Put them up til now (I'm right at one year). They're just occupying space do I thought I'd give it a whirl. Yuck. There was 1 1/2 c in the whole recipe and half of them are left and my son ate half of what's gone... They were even low sugar (I used honey and date sugar).
  9. No. Didn't do anything else yesterday. Cooked every meal with fresh meat and veggies...nothing I haven't eaten a million times. Slight chance the weather may be part of the yuck (windy) and I didn't take an allergy pill last night so I could test the oats - but it's more than just yuck - its a very distinct feeling in my stomach (allergies don't do that...
  10. So made oatmeal cookies last night with that big bag of BRM oats I bought a loooong time ago. Trying to clean out the freezer... Anyway, they gave me gas last night (no biggie, carbs do that). But this morning I just feel gross and bloated. This may explain my problem with oat oil in cosmetics. I haven't tried oats on a long time but I used to be able...
  11. Sorry, it was the only one I could find. It is probably worth a try to see if Celiac attracts. Yes, men are so much easier to get along with. Estrogen en masse makes me want vodka.
  12. Another thing - and I don't know if you already have it listed - but perhaps put Celiac in your dating profile? That way others could find you? That could go either way, but it is segmented marketing (I mean geez, if they're listing vegetarianism why the heck not?).
  13. Wow. So vegetarians prefer online dating. That's an interesting demographic. Met my hubs online - but that was an aol chat room prior to online dating sites. He was the only one that didn't ask my measurements....so I finally emailed with him, then talked to him, cancelled at least one date - til he finally wore me down. He's persistent. What about...
  14. Have you tried online dating sites? At least there you can sometimes see if people scream out "I'm veggie and proud!"? I understand how it feels to start over, at least career-wise. And I guess emotionally, too. I have a great husband and son (okay, he's great when he isn't having a gluten/milk meltdown)....but as far as my goals and dreams...they just...

  16. Yes, if it was hypo then it was hashis. Did you ever check to ensure they ordered a full panel of Celiac tests, not just one or two? Sometimes they do that and it's very unfortunate because you're only getting a partial picture. Since he has to go back....would be worth knowing IMO. I won't tell not to worry or stress - that's just how it is. But you...
  17. Thank you! That sounds wonderful. Didn't do the shake tonight. Made him soup and oatmeal cookies. So far he ate a lot and is perfectly fine. I'll kill him if he tries to have milk on his cereal tomorrow.
  18. Well, as far as testing goes ...there are a few contradictions to testing that you need to know before you even try. 1) eating a gluten-free diet 2) steroid use of any type So, let's assume you're eating gluten and they haven't given you steroids for anything in the last 6 months or so.... Dh Celiacs rest better on a few celiac blood tests than...
  19. But you may have a problem with your thyroid. They didn't test you for thyroid antibodies either. Do that too.
  20. Thanks for sharing our success story. It gives lots of us hope.
  21. Anything grilled. I will grill veggies and meats...fruit if I can find peaches. I grill a lot of meat then chop for a salad. I hate salads in the winter, love them in the summer. I like wilted salads - grill veggies and meats and make a hot dressing (mmmm bacon grease rules) then toss with salad greens. Fajitas or skirt steak with cold sauces like...
  22. Wow, didn't know that. We'll give it a whirl. I know some places sell lactose free milk - I could always make ice cream with that, too.
  23. If you search this site you'll find a lot of tips. As a rule, if a recipe contains 1cup or less of flour it's pretty easy. The more flour, the more difficulty. Are you using a premixed gluten-free flour to convert or wanting to make your own mix? Here's a link to tips: Open Original Shared Link It really is trial and error. I have easily converted...
  24. Oh hon, you are in a tough spot. It is normal to experience "gluten withdrawal" - and I have no idea how pregnancy influences that. Most people try a whole food diet, as much as possible: meats, veggies, fruits and attempt to stay away from gluten-free processed foods like cookies, etc., while that is ideal it isn't always reality. The top food intolerance...
  25. I think your Dd and my DS should get together and have irrational tantrums together. We could make our own horror films. Think of the money we could make!
