  1. It wasn't snarky. And the beef would be ok if you put it in a sandwich, etc. not a lot of seasoning - but you do taste the DP which is rather strange, actually. It is very tender. I'll be making sandwiches/tacos with it later this week.
  2. You may look into a compounding pharmacy that could make a "cleaner" version of an antihistimine. You may have a temporary or permanent intolerance to the base - corn, etc. A compounding pharmacy should be able to switch bases and tell you what base it is - allowing you to figure out what works. It may be worth your time to try it. Antihistimines are...
  3. If you know you are ok with coconut, you can bake using coconut oil and flour. I know sweets and breads are sources of fear right now, but you should know you aren't far off from being able to bake - just differently. If you can use baking soda and salt, you can bake something sweetened with fruit (assuming you don't react to fruit). Check out this...
  4. In the end it was iodine causing my DH flare (after gluten-free), but there was definitely an ebb/flow of rash based on my cycle. My ND is also treating/testing me for adrenal issues...so maybe that's another area to look?
  5. I agree, but I'd never heard of using Dr. Pepper with beef (Coke with ham, yes). Btw the avocado fries were rather lacking. I don't know of it was using gluten-free breadcrumbs or if the recipe is just blah - but if I did it again I'd fry them and just coat them in flour not breadcrumbs. And The Kid did NOT eat my Catalina dressing.
  6. Or, you could need some of the b vitamins gluten goods have added to them. Just a thought - add a multi vitamin?
  7. Have you tried natural progesterone cream to see if it helps? I was low for a while and knew it was progesterone because my period wouldn't stop, but I'd use the cream and it would for 12 hours. Took 2 doses per day to stop that for a few months. Then, I needed it for the second half of my cycle for about 6 months (sore boobs)- then I felt worse with it so...
  8. Hey, they are quite the Pinterest rage! I can't believe THAT was odd when I'm cooking a pot roast in Dr. Pepper? . I put some coconut oil in my Catalina dressing - that's a bit weird too but figured my child could use a brain boost (if he eats it).
  9. This is, unfortunately, is a hot topic around here. From my experience, it's best to use gluten-free skin care/beauty products. I do react to ones with gluten in them (it took a while, but it happened). People with skin conditions related to gluten are generally more careful about gluten-free beauty products. You'd need to ask CVS if their product is...
  10. If you are ok with maltodextrin and caramel color (neither of them say derived from wheat) and "natural flavors" you may try Safeway. I bought one there when I first went gluten-free - I screened it then and thought it was ok. I've not tried asking for more clarification on the natural flavors. I live in AZ, don't know if the flavors vary.
  11. Don't laugh. Beef pot roast cooked in Dr. Pepper. Baked avocado fries Salad with homemade Catalina dressing Hubs is out of town and I'm trying to get The Kid into eating more veggies.
  12. I'm very relieved to hear the mouth and throat sores don't itch. I hope they go away soon. They will probably tell you to stop using the wash to see if it goes away. I was reading about oral DH and one study said oral lesions are quite common in DH patients, and tend to precede a skin breakout. It wasn't clear to me if the oral lesions were DH, or...
  13. I've always noticed my DH was worse on certain weeks of my cycle. I also had neuro issues but never noticed a cycle with them. I'm pretty sure the whole ai thing screws up our hormonal balance.
  14. Assuming this is what you're using did you read the side effects? Open Original Shared Link You may just have an issue with the product or allergy to the active ingredient. It is unlikely you have thrush since this is used to treat it. You might glance at this, and read the contradictions. Uhm, did you notice the part about not using it with iodone...
  15. Yes, lots of ai diseases overlap which makes it a pain to dx. One thing I wish I'd learned years ago when dx'ed with Hashis was to treat myself like an ai patient, not just a Hashis patient. There are differences to all ai diseases and treatments and apparently just as many commonalities. Right now I'm concentrating on the ai syndrome instead of just Celiac...
  16. I'm glad you got in to see the neuro. Regarding Celiac and neuro issues, as many here will tell you , they seem to be the last to go and first to come back. For me, in the beginning, they were triggered by gluten, sugar, and processed foods like flavored/colored chips (gluten-free but contained types of MSG). I'd suggest following your doctors suggestions...
  17. Be careful, some BTB has gluten in it. Others use some ingredients I found suspicious because they were in foods that had made my rash flare. Open Original Shared Link
  18. Antibiotics are notorious for causing thrush. There's a medication they can give you - I don't remember the name, but they give it to moms/babies all the time. It may be OTC where you are. Ask a pharmacist and see? If it works, you'll know it's thrush (at least what's in your mouth). You really should have a doctor check it out. You are correct, if...
  19. We've all been there, at one time or another. Just be nice to yourself right now. Work a bit, even if you aren't producing at the level you want...sometimes just doing it will get you rolling. Then take a break...eventually it will click. Try not to stress about the things you can't do anything about - like your doctor's thought process. Good news...
  20. Well, actually I'd be more concerned the thrush was caused by the state of your immune system and the antibiotic wash. Have you googled pictures of oral thrush (sorry, they can be ugly and painful looking)? Also, could you have developed a problem with the antibiotic? That can cause local/general swelling, rash, lymph node issues. Sure, it's possible...
  21. Yes, it does since they are cumulative. Sals are tricky things. I'm not saying it IS salicylates but it's something to consider. Some people are sensitive to one sal source but not another. Sorry I bothered you, won't do it again.
  22. I wouldn't try this at home. And I'd sure like lots of other people to be the lab rats:). I'm not surprised they could do this, but am surprised we haven't heard more about it.
  23. Has a dentist ever checked those sores? Have you ever had oral thrush? That said, I had thrush after my son was born that in retrospect may have been DH. Skin problems are terribly difficult. I'm sorry you're going through this, I know or must hurt.
  24. Intolerances wouldn't show up on allergy tests. You do realize most of the foods on your safe list are low salicylate??? That might be a hint. There's a high correlation between Celiac/skin conditions and salicylate sensitivity.
  25. Yes, look under diagnosis/endoscopy. Open Original Shared Link
