  1. Hi everyone. So the doc mailed me again without calling. All she mentioned this time was that my thyroid is free of illnesses (thank god!) but that my TSH levels are high, so she wants me to come back in four months for another blood test. I'm guessing she just wants to check to see if it was a one time fluctuation or something. She's just going to leave...
  2. Chocolate along with many sweets sadly ;-( Butter also.. can't think of more things. I'm not sure if cookies and baked things containing cow milk are included too though.
  3. Amen to that :-)
  4. elimination diet + food/ symptom diary :-)
  5. It's hard to tell. It could be a reaction to something else.. anything more you can describe it by? You should go to the dermatitis herpetiformis forum and read some of the posts there as they contain pictures. It could be dermatitis herpetiformis and in that case it's a sign of celiac and not just gluten intolerance. Is yours burning at all, and are...
  6. What that food does to your insides is disgusting .. try to hang on to that thought. It literally shreds off part of your intestines, leaves you starving to death, and that is horrifying. All I can say to you is that the only hard part is the beginning, and one day you won't miss it anymore and it will get become the norm :-) You will learn also how pleasant...
  7. Personally I think you should stop caring so much about them and more about yourself. I found out that I'm generally happier and more relaxed when I let go of the need for others to understand and support me. I have hubs who's great, and I don't need anyone who makes life harder or more stressful for me. I'll do what makes me feel well, and others will have...
  8. I share your frustration too. I take my own food with me even when I visit friends. It's completely stinky since I'm the type of person who loves sharing food and trying other people's cooking, but I just don't want to bother them with all the demands my diet requires and I don't want to blame anything on them in case I do get sick. Think about the alternative...
  9. Me likes :-) More tricks wouldn't hurt if anyone has any!
  10. Thanks for your input. Did you ever compose a travel 101 thread by the way? If you have I should read it, and if you haven't.. perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea to make one for us noobs who want to get out :-) Italy sounds like celiac-haven. I just stated italy as a random example but didn't really expect they would be even safer than sweden!
  11. I still don't get it. Even if you ask them about being gluten-free or explain it to them.. what if they don't get the idea about CC from the pans and you get glutened. How do you the waiters don't understand that if they touch bread or whatever they can't handle your food after.. or am I just taking CC too seriously?
  12. ...along great! can't wait to show you!

Those Dh pics from that thread look just like what I have, notice the parts where the skin is kinda bumpy..more lumpy..but clear? (last pic),I get like that alot...then start scratching and end up bloody and looking like the other pics!LOL! Makes me itchy just talking about it!

  13. Oh...I regards to my cat Boo,He was a great cat...definatly special...but Yes, At times he definatly had an Evil streak in him! He could be a REAL little Bastard!!!

Sooo hows your little BunBun? Soot? right? I love Bunnies but they can be very sciddish, especialy the Dwarfs! But they're SOOOOOO cute!!!LOL!Hows your sketches going? My painting is comin...

  14. Since you're an experienced traveler, can you give an example scenario for educational purposes. Let's say (for example) you're going to Italy in a month. What would your planning involve, and how do you do it. My last trip to London involved a lot of starvation. I came back feeling, acting and looking like a hungry bunny, and I think I did manage some CC...
  15. The last pic is the closest to what I have. Mine used to itch like crazy, but it doesn't anymore. Now it just itches a little, and burns a lot.

  16. I so agree with MitziG
  17. It all depends on how much you need to be formally diagnosed VS. how much you don't want to experience your symptoms again. If you can't live without the money off or having proof on paper of your condition, and you don't mind going through your symptoms again (which might be hitting back a little harder depending on how long you've been gluten-free)...
  18. Hey dani....HI!

Go to the DH postings....under "Another does this look like DH post" and tell me what you think! check out her pics...and the 2 things I wrote! is yours like those pics? Thats a good example of what I have!

  19. I also didn't get any GI symptoms in the beginning of my diet, so it was hard to tell if I ever got glutened. I did go to restaurants at first, but I learned in the end that avoiding them completely gives me more peace of mind and saves me the trouble of having to figure out why my mood is swingy or why I'm constipated. I enjoy picnics with friends and hubby...
  20. It sadly has to do with a lot of trial and error and what the board members told me was the "learning curve". If you buy something that made you feel bad you'll know to avoid it, and in time you'll learn what you want to avoid and what's ok. Also you've only been gluten-free for 3 months after 30 years of having your body damaged, so it might not be the BJ...
  21. What symptoms do you usually experience? You might be feeling off because you're worried you did a bad thing. Honestly.. and it's just what I think.. you go on vacations to have a good time, and not experience nervous breakdowns.. so even if you did get yourself mildly glutened, you still lived, enjoyed, and experienced so many things, and it's not like you...

The rash on your neck can be DH (Dermatitis Herpetiformis). You could have been glutened from cross-contamination as Adalaide stated. Do you know though how soon your reactions start by the way? For some it's the same day, and for others it's the day after. I used to react after two days but not it's less. So it could have been something you've eaten yesterday...
  23. Thanks for the correction :-) All bunny pellets contain gluten except for Zoopreem (sp?) regardless of their price-range, which is why I thought it would be the same for dog food.
  24. Yay! :-) More possible magic buttons!
  25. No symptoms doesn't mean no celiac sadly :-( I hope your daughter's tests come out clean! I'm guessing then that the ttg test is the one they do when they want to check. THanks for the info :-)
