  1. Lister. I think you should have a h-pylori test. This is the bacteria that most ulcers are caused by. I also think you should look into candida overgrowth. This is common especially in the gluten intolerant. For starters, do a simple test tomorrow morning before you eat or drink anything. Fill a clear glass with water, then spit in it. If over the next...
  2. I started with the bloat after going gluten free - go figure! I have had some relief by taking digestive enzymes before meals.
  3. First, sounds like you are gluten intolerant. Those tests being negative does not prove you don't have it. Stick to the diet, it may take a while and there may be setbacks, but good for you. My understanding of acid reflux is that in most cases it is a load of crap. And yes, I have heard that prevacid and others will make it worse in the long run. I...
  4. Welcome to the board. I myself am almost a year into the diet. I still have ups and downs. I find if I stay away from too much starches and especially processed gluten free food I am usually ok. Like you Lister, I still will have a week with like 5 or 6 good days and 1 or 2 bad ones. But, it used to be 5 bad and 2 good. I. would suggest that both of...
  5. Hi everyone. I just discovered Cold Stone Creamery. They have a great comprehensive list of all their icecreams and toppings. It shows which icecreams have certain allergens, including gluten, nuts, soy, msg, dairy, etc. Most are gluten free. They put the icecream on a frozen table where other icecreams may have been, so I asked them to put mine directly...
  6. Some of Stonyfield ice creams and yogurts are ok. All soydreams are ok.
  7. Is there msg in it? Could that be a problem for you.
  8. 3 months is not long enough to get rid of severe candida. Look into threelac. I just purchased this, and will post results in the future. This diet can take a long time for some to feel better. For me a lot of symptoms slowly lifted over the months, but I still have some here and there. Some feel better quickly, but some take a long time. It depends...
  9. I think you should look into parasites, bacteria or candida overgrowth.
  10. You said the burning goes away when you eat. That is one of the symptoms of an ulcer. Have you been checked for that? I don't know about the popping noises.
  11. Any symptoms return on the regular diet. Biopsies are very inconclusive, since they may biopsy a piece that isn't damaged, or maybe the damage hasn't occured yet. You could get a stool test done by Enterolabs. That will at least tell you if you are gluten intolerant. That means you still would be on a gluten free diet. This is how I found out. Good Luck...
  12. Have you ever had your adrenal function tested?
  13. Bugaboo creek now has a gluten free menu. I also had a good experience at Chilis
  14. Whole foods uses gluten free vinegar in their sushi. You can have the raw tuna or salmon ones or veggie ones.
  15. Hi. I too have hashimotos. It does sound like you are gluten intolerant. This can trigger thyroid issues as well. Are you taking synthroid? If so, this does not help a lot of people. It is T4 alone and you may need a med with T3 as well such as Armour or cytomel. Also, if you are not taking enough thyroid hormone it can make you worse. Your doc should...
  16. Not that this is what you are asking, but I am amazed at how many of us have or have had eating disorders. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a triggering factor for me.
  17. I too have autoimmune hypo and celiac. Are you sure you are not hypo again? you usually have to be on meds for like. What tests are they doing to check thyroid. If its TSH, that test is useless. You should be having your thyroid peroxidase antibodies checked. Many people are hypo and have normal TSh levels. YOur doc should be looking at symptoms. To...
  18. Lister in regard to the bumps do they hurt or itch? Have you had them before? I would get that checked out. It could just be your body detoxing from not eating gluten, but you should make sure.
  19. I don't know about coconut butter but organic coconut oil is good for candida, bacteria and viruses.
  20. You need to stay on the diet. Before going gluten free I was having fevers for months, now only occasionally. You are silently damaging your body if you have celiac and are not sticking to the diet.
  21. Hi and welcome. Since you have had lots of replies I am just going to let you know what gluten free toiletries I use and like. I use Tom's of Maine toothpaste, Giovanni or Shakai hair products, and Burt's Bee's lipstick. The first and last can usually be bought at drugstores, and the hair stuff you can find at natural food stores. Whole Foods is great...
  22. Hi, If you don't want to completely give up dairy I would suggest eating raw dairy. You can get cheeses at Whole foods and milk from some local farms. I also eat a wonderful water buffalo yogurt that is gentler on the stomach. Many people are lactose intolerant because of the pasterization and homogenization of dairy. It kills all the enzymes we need...
  23. I do. Diagnosed with IC in 2004 and gluten intolerance in 2005. I also have other autoimmune issues as well.
  24. Also stay away from malt!!
