Hi welcome. I suggest you get your thryoid checked also. Make sure they don't just do tsh(it is extremelyinaccurate) There is a whole panel that should include T3, T3 free, T4 free, thyroglobulin antibodies, and thyroperoxidase antibodies (these show hashimotos). Also you should get your adrenals tested as well. Also I would look into hypoglycemia. If...

ARCHIVED Ibs Leads To Other Diseases....
loraleena replied to danikali's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yep thats me, diagnosed with IBS in 1997and told to eat fiber. (Didn't work). This was followed by diagnosis of panic disorder, fibromyalgia, hashimotos hypothyroidism, and finally chronic fatigue. The final diagnosis led me to celiac. (This I found out with no help from doctors). Thanks a lot. -
It certainly sounds like it is possible. But don't get yourself so worried, the good thing is yours has been caught. By stopping gluten you can heal. Remember no gluten is for life! Make sure you get any children, or siblings checked as well.

I had extreme insomnia last year. I took valarian and melatonin. I now only take melatonin. This is natural and can be bought at any health food store. It knocks me out in 20-30 minutes after I take it. If I do wake in the middle of the night I can take more. It does not make you drowsy the next day. It saved my life and sanity!!

ARCHIVED Some Symptoms Diseapering
loraleena replied to Lister's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Lister is right. Candida can cause gluten intolerance, genes cause celiac. Candida can cause multiple food intolerances, as well as a multitude of other problems. I am looking into this also. -

ARCHIVED Vaccines?
loraleena replied to odcdinah's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I suggest that everyone stop believing everything that we are told by our goverments! There is lots of info out there that contradicts everyone's beliefs about the effectiveness and safety of vaccines. Please tell me how injecting newborn babies with mercury(a known neuro toxin is good for them). I vaccinated my son, but knowing what I know now I would... -
ARCHIVED The End Of The Road
loraleena replied to Lister's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
You can have gluten intolerance and even celiac with neg. test results. Stick with the gluten free. It is for life. Here are other things I think you need to get checked for. Parasites, candida overgrowth, thyroid and adrenal issues. What state are you in? You should look into help for health insurance for low income people. Good luck! -
ARCHIVED Tested Negative For Celiac
loraleena replied to Mo92109's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Do the stool test from enterolabs. It will tell you at least whether you are gluten intolerant or not and I suspect you are. -
ARCHIVED Breakfast, gluten-free, Low Carb, High Protein, Ideas Needed
loraleena replied to VydorScope's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Did you know that if you are lactose intolerant you may be able to tolerate raw cheeses. They are better for you and taste great. They still have the enzymes needed to help you digest. Pasterized cheeses lose the enzymes. Google raw dairy and read about the benefits. You could also try sheep, goat, or water buffalo yogurts. I eat the last one without... -
The yogurt is plain unsweetened. The toast is china black rice bread with no sweetners except pinepple. I may have a carb, but it is always with a protein. I can eat apples on there own without it bothering me. Yogurt is a good protein source if not sweetened with sugar. You could always sweeten it with stevia a natural sweetner that does not cause blood...

ARCHIVED House Tv Show Will Feature Celiac Disease
loraleena replied to irish's topic in Publications & Publicity
Actually I have read a lot about the connection of schizophrenia and celiacs. While these symptoms were rather obscure all of them could be caused by celiac. I have mixed feelings. Yes some may think celiac makes us crazy, but what was really said is that celiac causes nutrional deficiencies that effect the brain. I think it is important for people to... -
ARCHIVED Celiac And Candidas, Leaky Gut, Ibs, Etc.
loraleena replied to Guinevere's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Update. I looked into Threelac and it is gluten free. I also read up on Brewer's yeast. It can be made from gluten or sugars. There are Brewer's yeasts that are gluten free. I have checked up on Threelac and it is gluten free. I also read about the Brewer's yeast. It is not always made from gluten. -
ARCHIVED Celiac And Candidas, Leaky Gut, Ibs, Etc.
loraleena replied to Guinevere's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Everything that I have read on Threelac said it was gluten free. The support guy I just ordered from said it was gluten free as well. I don't know about brewer's yeast, but I will check into it. -
Buy Zands at your local health food store. All natural and gluten free and yummy.

Somewhere out west they just started making a gluten free beer with sorghum. I don't know the name but try and google gluten free beer.

I agree you sound hypoglycemic. I also wonder about yeast (candida overgrowth) This can make you feel crappy after you eat high carb stuff. It is also common in celiacs. What strikes me is that you are eating lots of processed high carb foods. Stick to the real stuff. Lean meats, fish, veggies, low glycemic fruits (avoid bananas and melons) and maybe...

ARCHIVED Need Help With Toddler And Possible Celiac Disease
loraleena replied to sarahjo's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Plain and simple your doctor is an idiot! If she improved that much on a gluten free diet stick to it. She doesn't need gluten to be healthy. I would get a stool sample analyzed by enterolabs and skip the stupid doctors. -
ARCHIVED Have Symptoms But Tested Negative?
loraleena replied to Guinevere's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
HI, I agree with everyone else. You tested neg. because you have been gluten free. Hey check out the e-mail I sent back to you about candida and threelac! -
ARCHIVED Celiac And Candidas, Leaky Gut, Ibs, Etc.
loraleena replied to Guinevere's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
There is a simple at home saliva test. When you wake up,first thing spit into a glass of water. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes. If the saliva stays at the top and water is clear you most likely don't. If there are strands or legs coming down from it, or it sinks to the bottom or makes the water cloudly than candida is likely. There is also a questionarre... -
