  1. Hi I am apalled at the rudeness I have seen hurled at you. This is the first time I have seen this on here. My boyfriend is a legal alien from Japan, and he has to deal with all kinds of bs. from the U.S. Everything is difficult for him. He can't even go to Canada to visit relatives with me for fear he'll be sent to Japan to get his passport stamped...
  2. Even though you tested neg. for celiac, you can still be gluten intolerant. Get a fecal test done by enterolabs. Gluten intolerance can make you feel like hell without the typical celiac villi damage. If you felt better gluten free than there is all the proof you need. Also, the tests are not full proof. It is possible to have neg tests and neg biopsies...
  3. Did your doctor explain that you can have nothing with wheat, oats, rye or barley and that it is in many hidden sources. Example- modified food starch could mean gluten. Natural flavors can mean gluten. You need a full list of all the hidden sources. It sounds like you are not gluten free. It may also be in shampoos, soaps, aftershaves, toothpaste, etc...
  4. Have you been checked for parasites or yeast overgrowth? Our bodies are set up for this due to such intestinal distress.
  5. Synthroid is often not helpful. You should try Cytomel or Armour Thyroid. Check out Dr. John Lowe's web site. Just type in John Lowe. You could be tired because of withdrawal. You have only been off a week. I had lots of aches and pains at first.
  6. There are lots of great gluten free pastas. My favorite is a corn and quinoa blend named Ancient Harvest. Also lots of good brown rice pastas out there. I like Manna from Anna bread. It is a healthy mix that is soft enough to make a sandwich with. Also I love Food for Life bread. It is small, but good toasted with various toppings. Ewhorn makes a few...
  7. Are you totally gluten free? Meaning, shampoos, soaps, makeup (esp. lipstick). Also lot of cold cuts have gluten. Was your ham a processed cold cut? Boars head is gluten free and so is applegate farms. I would stay away from commercial processed foods ( always chance of cross contamination). Also make sure you have your own pots and pans, utensils and...
  8. I have had a swollen lymph in my neck since I got sick last March. Even though gluten free comes and goes. Make sure you are not getting hidden gluten like in your shampoo, soaps, makeup etc. Also watch out for cross-contamination. Make sure you have your own toaster and pots and pans and utensils.

  11. I have had problems for years, but got really sick in March after a stomach flu. I had fevers and "chronic fatigue for months. Then in July I read about gluten intolerance and it fit what was happening. I was told to stop wheat, but not gluten in April. I was eating lots of spelt and nauseaus every day. I got tested by enterolab in July and was pos for...
  12. I would be concerned about taking presription drugs. Western medicine is only concerned about covering up symptoms, not curing anything. These drugs usually have detrimental effects on other organ symstems. You may have other things going on such as candida overgrowth , parasites ect. You should read Natural Cures They Don't Want You to Know About.
  13. I think tropical source makes gluten and dairy free dark chocolate - yum
  14. The symptoms you describe can be symptoms. After being gluten free for a couple weeks this summer I gave in to a quesadilla. Literally while was still eating fatigue and severe brain fog set in. This was followed by shakes, racing heartbeat ,fever, sore throat, diareaha and nausea. This lasted a day and a half. The 2nd day after I vomited violently for...
  15. Hi, Living in Southern NJ you must have some of the chains that have gluten free menus. Outback Steakhouse is one. Do you have a Legal Seafoods near the ocean there? Also look for a PF Changs China Bistro. Whole Foods is a great grocery store.
  16. Yes I started taking them about a month ago. They seem to help with the bloating and gas I get after eating anything. I also heard it is good to take a probiotic as well.
  17. That is a shame. Not everyone is like that. There was a cookie exchange at work today and of course I didn't eat any. One coworker though thought of me and made wheat free cookies. Unfortunealty she used barley so they were still out for me. But how nice of her to make the effort.
  18. Rice cripsies is not gluten free!! I believe it has barley malt or something like that. Also you need to watch out for cross contamination. For example the gluten free puffs may be made on the same line as something with wheat in it. Do lots of research please. Check out Whole foods market. They are very concious and aware and have a list of foods that...
  19. Wow, if you are celiac, you really shouldn't be eating that stuff at all. You will only continue to damage your body. I can't imagine cheating. when I have an accidental glutening, I get chills, fever , nausea, shakes, rapid heartrate and feel like hell. No food is worth that!! Anyway, it is weird how many of us have or had eating disorders. Someone...
  20. I don't feel it cause my eating disorder. I never had stomach problems until after the eating disorder. I wonder if the damage I did to my body could have triggered the gluten intolerance. Either that or my pregnancy. Thats when the stomach stuff started. Followed by a cascade of other unexplained illnesses. My first dabblings in eating disorders started...
  21. You can find buffalo yogurt at Whole Foods. Also the company is called Woodstock and is in Vermont. Just type in Woodstock buffalo yogurt and you'll find the site. You can order it. The best is the maple flavor.
  22. Wow, lots of replies. Did anyone have the bloating start after going gluten free like me? I was 5'9" and 117 way to skinny, but immediately got bloated within a week of starting. I have always had a flat or even concave stomach, even at my biggest weight of 150 several years ago. I know weigh 133, and am still thin, but a good weight ( I keep telling...
  23. Hello all, This is my first post, but I have been reading for months. I have always had the flattest stomach, even when sick. Since going gluten free in July 05 I am bloated all the time. It never goes awaycompletely. Everything I eat cause me to bloat (some more than others). I am taking a digestive enzyme that helps a little. I measure and my stomach...
