  1. From what I'm reading you already have tested this SEVERAL TIMES! And your husband seems to think it's pretty clear, too. Will a lab result really make it somehow more real? A gluten challenge is a valid test like other people pointed out. Cutting out gluten from your diet seems to consistenly improve your health and adding it back give you the same...
  2. I haven't had shots but I did take a B complex with folic acid for a while, and it did help especially with the brain fog and fatigue - almost immediately for me. But I wasn't sick for long before going gluten free (a month of D more or less). I think my levels are ok nowadays though because I started having a bit of insomnia as well. Nowadays I just take...
  3. I think there needs to be some space here to rant and rave as well as be positive and optimistic! So rant away! Did you have a lot of damage even if you didn't have a lot of obvious symptoms? If so, I could imagine that it's the healing process that is painful, and that you'll feel better eventually again. I can imagine that if the diagnosis came...
  4. I was at the post office the other day and I swear, they didn't have a single sponge thingy in the whole post office! My husband was getting really impatient, finally I asked him to do it and he said no way. The glue, honey, I said, it could have gluten in it. Ohhh... (big eyes) sorry...then he licked the darn envelopes shut and we could get out of there...
  5. This happens to me, too, and also about a week after being glutened. I try to always take some nuts and raisins or a banana with me, especially when I'm recovering from a glutening. And eat some protein at every meal. Gluten is a protein after all, if you leave it out, I figure something has to come in it's place. Pauliina
  6. I think it's progress. I eat what I normally eat when I've been glutened, I just avoid a few things that seem not to go down too well then, onions for example. Extra bananas, I love bananas. And last time I added cardamom to my tea and that seemed to soothe my tummy a little bit, so I'm going to try that again next time. But generally nothing seems...
  7. I think that what a lot of people are concerned about (me too) isn't shampoo, conditioner etc. being absorbed by the skin but getting in your mouth while washing, or getting on your hands and then in your mouth later when you eat etc. Personally I prefer gluten-free shampoo etc. because then that's one less thing to watch out for in the house... 8. I think it might be a good idea to try dairy free for a while. After all, otherwise you won't know if it's that. I used to think I was "only" lactose intolerant. Then I cut out all dairy for a while, and felt much better! I'm not as worried about hidden dairy as with gluten though, just not eating anything obvious like yoghurt or drinking milk. Pauliina
  9. If you ask me, this reply speaks volumes... Pauliina
  10. I was glutened last week, and thought I'd try if cardamom really helps. So I've been adding some to my tea ever since. It does make for a delicious tea, mmm. I think it actually calmed my tummy a little bit. I had less nausea and cramps than usual. I'm going to try it again the inevitable next time... Pauliina
  11. It's perfectly possible to make a delicious, fluffy, light cake with rice and potato flour for instance. My mum almost only bakes gluten free nowadays because even the non-gluten-free family members like the cakes that don't sink like a stone into the bottom of your stomach... It sounds like your husband is still in denial about this. That's natural...
  12. Yeah, I've been working part time in a restaurant kitchen, and even though I don't eat anything there, I usually feel less well the day after work. Not a full blown gluten reaction but definitively something. Pauliina
  13. Hi, new poster here. Don't panic just yet, if you had contaminated food only two days ago then nausea and several bowel movements a day would be just what I'd expect! I usually have that kind of symptoms for several days up to two-three weeks after being glutened... hang in there! Hi everyone, I've been lurking here for a while now, got lots...
