ARCHIVED Should I Test For Iga Deficiency?

The full panel celiac tests that I got for my daughters included total IgA as part of the test. Maybe you should check on that. D -
ARCHIVED Should I Test For Iga Deficiency?
1desperateladysaved replied to whitmore's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
There are other antibodies to test, you should do a complete celiac panel. I have similar issues with IgA and my MD said that I am not an allergic person. You could be IgA deficient, and it might be interesting to know. But if it were me, I would want to know if I had celiac disease or not. Your symptoms sound really suspicious to me. Part of the celiac... -
I did have trouble with appetite as I was healing. I would make myself eat at regular times. I didn't always eat much. The herb fennel helped me with appetite. You can take a few seeds or mix it in almond flour cookies. Check everything for hidden gluten, watch out incase you are getting cross contamination. Hopefully, your appetite will get to normal...

ARCHIVED gluten-free For 6 Years, Worse Than Ever. Help! New Person Here: )

I think you may be on to something with Grain free. I have been on the SCD diet (Or similar) for several months and this helped me. It was created for people that have not responded to a gluten free diet. Supplements have been life saving for me. I try to get ones that are simply powder of what I need. I do have several bottles of ones that I have reacted... -
ARCHIVED Egg Beaters/better 'n Eggs- Generics?
1desperateladysaved replied to Em314's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Do you want a natural good for you product? How about eggs? Egg beaters contain egg whites, so if you can't have eggs, don't eat egg beaters either. I found a page comparing egg beaters with real eggs. I eat 5 poached eggs every morning. I have reduced my blood pressure doing it. I don't think there is a quicker high protein food for health! I am cutting... -
ARCHIVED Ridiculous Conversations

Ah, I have to laugh at stuff like this. If one didn't laugh they would have to cry! My dentist had been discussing my celiac with me. Then he started talking about which restaurant to get the best pie at. Ha, Right? I just don't care about where to get the best pie. I say, people just don't understand, even if they ought to. I didn't set him straight... -

Oh, I am glad to hear you discovered this. I left my anemia behind within the last 6 months. I had 30+ years of symptoms and am now 18 months gluten free. I am feeling so much incredibly better in the last 6 months. I hope the same for you. Get some natural, good quality supplements and don't forget to take them. Are you on enzymes to? If you are low... -
ARCHIVED Feeling Left Out.
1desperateladysaved replied to bburmeister0407's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I hope you will find (soon) that being gluten free is a small price to pay for a BIG improvement in health! I felt overwhelmed at first, but now just glad for it. I take hard boiled eggs, a piece of fruit, or a nut flour muffin along for snacks. Meat and vegetables are good gluten free foods. I had an advantage, having always cooked from scratch, but... -

Leaky Gut And Joint Popping/pain
1desperateladysaved replied to spirit-walk's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
My functional medicine physicians try to find out why I am having trouble. Instead of giving me some pill to make my blood pressure low, they try to analyze what is causing it to be high. They use nutritional supplements for what they feel is the root problem I have a doctor formerly associated with Mayo Clinic that has practiced 25 years. Their practice... -
Yes, I finished your story. Things sounded familiar to me and it grieved me to hear it. I think you may be getting somewhere, though!. I know that foggy fatigue feeling, and it was my companion for about 30 years. Please do get all tests and I hope a definitive diagnosis. Then I hope you will have a positive response to the gluten free diet. I did!...

Leaky Gut And Joint Popping/pain
1desperateladysaved replied to spirit-walk's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I get popping when I have inflammation problems. I believe my inflammation comes from foods I don't tolerate. I have popping problems seldom, but had my family giggling at me trying to do squats and hearing the pops! Have you tried functional Medicine; a doctor we used is osteopathic and functional medicine and he helped my son. I like the functional... -
ARCHIVED Are These Symptoms?
1desperateladysaved replied to Mokey41's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I suggest you be tested for celiac disease, but it could false negative if you are not eating gluten. Yes, many have dairy intolerance, bloating, and bowel problems. I saw bloating for 30 years. I was told it was all in my head or weight gain! I hope you will soon have a definitive diagnosis and be on the road to recovery, D -

ARCHIVED Is The gluten-free Diet Making Me Stupid?
1desperateladysaved replied to C-Girl's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Are you taking supplements, with total villus atrophy, you need all the help you can get? My health practitioner told me that one job of the villi is to tell the pancreas to fire. When they are severely damaged they can't do this work. She advised me to take digestive enzymes to help break down food until the villi heal. It sounds like you got a lot... -
This year a doctor told me not to eat anywhere but home. My body is acting super-sensitive and I didn't want to rock the boat. I alerted my sister, the hostess, and my brother that I would be unable to eat at the gathering, but would eat on the way there. On the way there I enjoyed my very filling rice and beef casserole. I had planned to do a regular...

I had the shakes every day of my life (I thought I was nervous) until my chiropractor had me take a quality liquid magnesium supplement. After 3 or 4 days on that, my shakes went away. I hope your nutrient levels were checked or will be. Magnesium is needed by the heart according to my Prescription for Nutritional Healing book. I had heart problems...- 18 replies

1desperateladysaved replied to Austin Guy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I am using Restore Pro-Biotic by Healthline nutrition. This contains DDS-1 L. Salivarius, L Plantarium which the label says are resistant to most antibiotics. Also contained are L. Acidopihlus DDS-1,. The bottle contains 96 servings (Mine lasted 3 + months). I get it from Azure Standard for about 20 dollars. I like to vary my probiotic, so am planning... -

Hang in there. It can be overwhelming at first. Allow yourself down time when you can. Your body is working hard a recovery. It sounds incredible that you have total villi atrophy, but show no deficiencies! You are starting to repair, whether you feel you are or not! -

ARCHIVED Dh While Pregnant, None (Maybe) After?
1desperateladysaved replied to JustCricket's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
I had undiagnosed celiac for 30 years. I do remember a mysterious rash, which appeared on my arms, in at least 2 pregnancies. Hmm makes me wonder. -
Oh, that doesn't sound fun. I hope you can get your diagnosis, or whatever it takes to motivate you. I always like to find and solve the root of my problem and you may be onto something to suspect celiac or gluten intolerance. You need to feel better to do what it takes, you need to do what it takes in order to feel better. It sounds like you have some...
