  1. Keep on, keeping on. He is recovering from a serious disease which- Thankfully you have defined and can be managed with diet. He is being careful in his food choices. He probably feels really sick if he misses. Also, I know my appetite was slack at first. Keep trying different vegetables as he needs them. There is bound to be some he will like. I...
  2. It gets better! You are healing already, even if you can't feel it. A larger variety of protein foods may help with repair, if You can. I lived 30 years in fog and fatigue. But the mind is clear and light now. There is hope for you too!
  3. I have found that coconut water is a good hydrator for me. It sounds like you are making good progress learning the diet. I think your body is healing, but you don't feel it yet. Have you had your nutrient levels tested to be sure they are getting in? I have used a special Carbohydrate diet in which you eat mean vegetables, and use nut flours. Digestive...
  4. I would like to know more about this information. Do you know where you saw information about flattened villi and lack of IgA? I have been looking, wondering about that. .
  5. If you want to know when your started healing, I would say, "One month ago!" You cannot always feel the progress, at least I couldn't. But you are getting somewhere. Your recovery will be depending on how long you were ill, what nutrients you give your body, and how good of detective you are for any other intolerances. I hope you will be feeling progress...
  6. Happy Anniversary, and many more healthful ones to you . Lately, I just start some housekeeping project, I delve in deep. Suddenly I realize that I have somewhere I need to be, or a meal to make. The time just flies while absorbed in something. D
  7. Part 2 Frustration: When I pressed a general practitioner for a biopsy, (which someone there had told me they could do at his office) he said you can do it anytime the rash is there. He felt it was dry skin. There was no inflammation and no joint inflammation. That doesn't explain to me why her legs, which she leaves partially bare, are good, but...
  8. My local Jason's Deli warned me against eating there. They didn't put gluten in gluten free items, but they cross contaminate things. It could be different in other branches, but it pays to be safe. D
  9. I can relate to being asked when the baby is due, when it is not! I remember the days when my tummy never went down anymore. Mine appears to finally be subsiding, I don't know that I discovered a brilliant cure. I am 18 months gluten free and have found many food intolerances and used supplements for support and healing. I am using Restore Probiotic...
  10. No, am not sure if the fabric in the jacket causes it. I did find that the skin is shielded from the cold and no other part of the skin (even bare skin) has this extreme dryness. I have been looking at DH pictures, but don't think it matches. However, perhaps it might be a celiac related rash anyway. Another daughter has the same wrist thing. They don...
  11. It is not itchy. it looks like super-dry skin. We eat gluten free at home, but in the fall and winter she eats out about 2 times a week. Can DH be not itchy? I am working on a doctor visit. My GP retired, so have to find someone new. It would be nice to have one before an emergency comes up. GP near Milaca, Princeton, or St. Cloud, MN anyone...
  12. I have very positive genetics for celiac and I have undiagnosed children. Yesterday, my daughter showed me that her rash she gets every winter has appeared on one wrist. The other wrist, she says will break out soon. The rash is all of the way around her wrist in about a 2- 3 inch area. I think it is imperative we have this rash checked out right away...

  14. Greetings, I have many intolerances, but the SCD (special Carbohydrate Diet) Is working for me. I mention it because I find the food so satisfying that I do not need to eat frequently. This diet includes, meat, vegetables, nut flours, and fruits. Open Original Shared Link Don't be shy on the coconut and olive oils; they help me keep full longer and...
  15. I am coming from a Natural health Care Patient background. I know this isn't a picnic at first. I spent 30 years with celiac symptoms, and toward the end, there wasn't anything fun about it! I believe things will get better for you. Perhaps you could check into your nutrient levels. These could be used as a gage to see if the villi are working...
  16. Welcome, Most of us started out surprised and overwhelmed. I suffered mostly from mind fog and fatigue, so I know that can happen. I get irritable when I accidently get glutened. All the best to you and your family. D
  17. I got inflammation/ popping joints from smelling popcorn, I think. The popping took 24 hours to appear. I try not to stress the joints when I am swollen.
  18. I will let her know!
  19. I know a friend trying a gluten free diet with an autistic child. D
  20. I am pretty sure that the blog count is stuck! D
  21. SCD lifestyle has some no grain recipes to help you out. That is a website This diet was created to help heal people with celiac that were not otherwise healing. I grind my own nuts and use them for muffins, pancakes, and cookies. I also have the book Breaking the Vicious Cycle Intestinal Health Through Diet. by Elaine Gottschall B.A. M. Sc. where...
  22. I think you may be on the right track with considering a gluten problem. I hope you get it defined and can be gluten free soon. As soon as all the testing is done, go totally gluten free and then you can see if your symptoms subside. That would be the final test.
  23. You seem rather overwhelmed just now. That is how just about everyone here starts out. I wanted to crawl under my bed myself, but I have a mattress on the floor and didn't get too far! Make sure to read the Newbie thread and work on your kitchen. You are doing well so far! You got her diagnosed, while displaying so few symptoms, and at a young age! ...
  24. SUBJECT CORN: Did you check your salt? I went to a sight about corn allergens and noticed that iodized salt is on the unsafe list. This doesn't surprise me, since I have reacted to salt in the past. The company that processed the salt I reacted to said they would not guarantee it was corn free. I use sea salt, but one has to watch even that for additives...
  25. I think my body was too over-whelmed to warn me at least toward the end. It sure is good at it now! Before biting into something one day, I felt cramps in my tummy. Boy, did I wish I had heeded the warning. It took 3 days to recover. The next time I felt cramps, I stopped eating. I do remember an amazing bloat long ago after baking and eating my...
