  1. Welcome Point Blank! I did a Spectra Cell test for nutrient levels. In the US it recently met the criteria to make it allowable to cover for Medicare and therefore most private insurance cover it. I don't know if it is available in Australia. If you are feeling well, and recovering, you probably don't need to check the levels. If you spend a whole...
  2. I was told it this product was grain free. Can mannitol be derived from something else? I didn't know to check all possible names when I took it. I did get over my shortage of B 12, so I stopped taking it.
  3. You may want to have your adrenal function tested. This can be tested using orthostatic blood pressure. That is taking blood pressure while lying down, and suddenly standing and retaking the blood pressure. If the adrenals work right the pressure would be lower when lying down, rise somewhat when suddenly standing, and go down as you stand there. Mine...
  4. I got double DQ2 and Double DQ8 with no known relatives with celiac. We do have many diabetics. I think others in the family have celiac, but nobody tests positive. I am hoping for better testing soon. I am afraid to have more of my children tested, the ones that have what might be symptoms blood tested negative. I insist any symptom might be celiac...
  5. I do 20 squats, 25 sit ups and 20 push-ups for exercise. These are considered Functional exercise. I also do exercises that my chiropractor recommends. . I worked up to this slowly after I first was diagnosed. I really think this has helped me recover rather than hindered it. At first, I refused to do one sit up. I was afraid I would rip. One day...
  6. Here is an answer. A sudden problem with the nerves which can occur in mal-nutrition. I had the link I found it, but have not been able to paste t links in the forum lately. I have to go find it again and type it in. http Open Original Shared Link I can't get the link to work. If you want to look into this problem type "Suddenly losing all muscle...
  7. Thanks, I got it to work now. Maybe my computer or its operator is slow.
  8. "NoGlutenCooties, The top one very much seemed to have other symptoms that apply to me. The bottom link didn't seem to work. D
  9. Hormone deficiency, yes, that is true of me. I now know that I am low in progesterone. My body steals it to use as cortisol the nurse told me. I am not anywhere near 75-80. My blood tested to have mature red blood cells now. Getting enough nourishment thanks to my diet and supplements is a good thing! I am thirsty, so I will have some coconut water...
  10. When I "lost all muscle tone" suddenly, I did nearly as much exercise as today. I don't think that exercise was my issue. I think there was some "disconnect" of sometime, and today I am on a search to find out more about it.
  11. That could surely be a factor for me. I had anemia and immature red blood cells. The nurse told me that these are larger than mature red blood cells. They don't fit through the tiniest blood vessels according to my nurse. They break and don't carry oxygen well.
  12. I do avoid bulk bins with scoops. If I am desperate for nuts, I look for packages not processed in wheat facilities, in a pinch I will use gravity bins. No matter where I get them from, I wash the nuts carefully in a colander before using them. Usually, I order nuts from Azure Standard. . Azure Standard can send UPS and also deliver to many states. ...
  13. Does anyone else not have hair (anymore) on their arms and legs. The functional medicine nurse said that my body didn't have the energy to get it done after so many years. I don't mind not having to shave, or have the ugly hairs. Still I wonder if my numbness could have something to do with this. My father doesn't have any hair on his legs either....
  14. Did anyone else "lose all muscle tone." over a short period of time? I did this about 8 years back. Nutrients seemed to help overcome this, but I didn't know about my gluten problem. Currently I am feeling firm, tight muscles. At other times my limbs feel squishy. I don't know how one can "Lose all muscle tone" and still be walking around, but...
  15. Now, if we just found out why the pancreas works over-time, and if this leads into diabetes with untreated celiac I would be interested in all of that too.
  16. I can't say I don't miss spontaneous outings. As my husband packed to go off with the basketball team, I thought how much easier it was that I stayed home. He packed pajamas and a couple things and he was off! He could eat whatever he liked to eat without concern. I pack food and utensils as neccesites. I have made it easier. In the car I have a...
  17. You're right. That makes me doubly sure I wouldn't want to test my bone cells. Just to be clear though, nobody offered me a test to do that.
  18. Many perhaps have not heard of a new kind of blood test for nutrient levels. It became covered by my medical insurance this year and also Medicare will now cover it . It had not been recognized the year before. I heard this from the functional medicine nurse. This test recognizes that the blood serum can steal the nutrients from cells, so cells can be...
  19. As a fellow gluten intolerance sufferer (that couldn't do a challenge), I would see if the doctor will give your child a diagnosis based on your explanation of results of the challenge or at least hurry up further testing. Keep track of all symptoms to discuss with the doctor. You could ask extended family members, or perhaps you know, if any have...
  20. Welcome Aleshae, I discovered my body really doesn't like grains either. I recently read the book, Breaking the Vicious Cycle by Elaine Gottschall NA MSc. I found recipes that use nut flours which make foods that are delicious and filling. You can also found grain free recipes on line. In order to avoid cross contamination you could set up your own...
  21. My calcium levels are good. I have been asked NOT to take calcium by my functional medicine nurse. She said that it tends to make digestion worse. I don't use dairy products, but I may be able to in the future. I have been taking magnesium, vitamin D, and vitamin K in multi-vitamin. I eat meat, veggies, nuts, and fruit. I also use coconut and olive...
  22. I hope all continues well!
  23. I have thought of a t-shirt saying, "I survived X years of celiac symptoms!" maybe someone sells these somewhere. I would probably sell t-shirt dresses that say it, If I sold them. I have a wrist band, but I don't think my family would appreciate seeing it. I do however mention it many times to whoever will listen. D
  24. I actually consider any response (good or bad symptoms) to be good after beginning the gluten free diet. The reason I think that it is good is because the body is moving somewhere. I hope you can lay low for a while and just get used to the diet and heal. D
  25. The last B-12 I got was PERQUE Activated B-12 Guard 2000, mcg Sublingual. I got it online. My B-Complex is Vital Nutrients and I get that from Professional Supplements company online. I take the Vital nutrients multi-vitamin also. D
