  1. Celiac damages the villi of the small intestine. These villi should absorb the nutrients needed to nourish the body. The villi also tell the pancreas when to fire, according to my functional medicine nurse. If the villi have major damage pancreatic enzymes may be helpful to break down the food while the villi are healing. The good news for you is that...
  2. Keep on writing, if and when your not too busy enjoying gluten!
  3. Before I diagnosis, I did not feel celiac pain. I would notice my tummy bloating, my legs swelling, and have a pregnant looking belly. I had extreme fatigue and foggy mind, but didn't realize those until it went away one day. I trudged on with these mysterious symptoms that were "All in my head." Wondering in my dreamy state if something possibly was wrong...
  4. Best wishes and hope your gluten challenge will be as light as possible. I hope you will get a firm diagnosis. Keep track of your symptoms and be in touch with your medical provider if the symptoms are severe. D
  5. I had 30 years of undiagnosed celiac. I had nutritional deficiencies. I had 5 pregnancies all with extreme nausea. My current Functional Medicine Nurse told me she believes that my magnesium deficiency caused the nausea in my pregnancies. 1 of my pregnancies (the first) ended with an early miscarriage. All 5 of my other pregnancies ended with the healthy...
  6. All of My comments are from my own personal experience and what I learned when I had antibody tests done. I did an Elisa test from Genova labs. This looked for antibodies to 60 different foods. I am not sure this is the same test that you were talking about, but I think it may be similar. Any food that you were not eating before the test, may false...
  7. Dr. Osborne has helped me.
  8. Keep up the good work! D
  9. I have intolerance issues with both corn and buckwheat, so I know it is within the realm of possibility! I also had cross contamination issues beginning 4 days after gluten free. I also hoped I wasn't going to need about strigently avoiding all gluten, but now I am glad I did it. The payoffs were worth it~ In spite of my intolerances of these items...
  10. You would have to check the ingredients on the food you ate. Soy sauce often contains gluten, so it is likely gluten is in the dish. Since, you are returning to gluten after having a time away from it, it wouldn't surprise me that you are having symptoms. You should keep a record of these symptoms and share them with the doctor that tests you. D
  11. You might try checking nutrient levels like vitamin D, Vitamin B, magnesium, and complete iron count. You may learn of more you could test, I don't know all of them. If you have a good diet, but they are low, it might tell you something. You would also have a base level, so when you go completely gluten free you could make comparisons. Since, you have...
  12. This article said that 60% of people with celiac have continued damage and/or symptoms in spite of following a gluten free diet. leads me to believe that one should be doing more. This isn't a high enough percentage of success. Over half fail to resolve their symptoms? I want to find the root problems and solve them. Drugs I would consider as a last...
  13. I do get bothered when people question me in detail about my limitations, because they doubt them. There is also the ones that give you dirty looks or out and out gasps when you need to ask about the ingredients in the foods! Often, I think it does stem out of a honest concern for me. Yesterday, I realized someone knew that I couldn't have grain. He...
  14. I felt reluctant to do a rotational diet (I even blogged about it), but now I have been at it for several weeks, and honestly don't want to get off it. When my functional medicine nurse mentioned to me that I wouldn't have to be on it forever, I cringed. My daughter sat me down one day last winter and we planned which food families to eat on what day for...
  15. I need to look into this histamine thing. I took IgG, digestive enzymes, and did an elimination diet between November and June my nutrient levels improved immensely. I am sold on these things!
  16. Sometimes, I think, that ones body is working so hard on the recovery that it doesn't have much left for other things. D
  17. I felt like I had the tremors my whole life. My chiropractor found I was low in magnesium and we supplemented it. My tremors went away and didn't return. I would recommend checking nutrient levels before considering any drugs.
  18. Right, I will be sharing this with my health providers. It fits! How were you tested for it please? I also am wondering if your IgA and IgG and IgE levels are at normal levels. I keep saying nobody else is trying to claim they are reacting to things they smell! (Well, a bit exaggerated). After all, isn't hayfever a reaction to airborne particles My...
  19. I have to take low allergenic and natural products. I am taking Vital Nutrients and you can find the ingredients here. Open Original Shared Link?
  20. I also had this internal shaking every day of my life. I thought I was a very nervous person. The shaking went away after 3 days on magnesium supplement. Magnesium can cause diarrhea, (I say this from experience) and my chiropractor has told me not to take it when you are experiencing diarrhea. You may want to have someone trained in nutrition to counsel...
  21. I have 2 copies of DQ2 and 2 copies of DQ8. No others that know they have celiac in the family. I really noticed symptoms after having mono when I was 19. Thirty years later I was diagnosed. I am so glad for you that you found out young. It is reversible (I have proved that) and I wish you well for your future.
  22. Difficulty concentrating could cause trouble in celiac. Probably many other things could cause it too. Celiac caused me brain fog and extreme fatigue. I hope you will get to the root of the problem. You may as well be tested to see if celiac is the problem. D
  23. I do not tolerate fungi. This includes both yeast and mushrooms. I know I would bloat up when mushrooms were in my LeAnn Chin, BUT I can't justify trying them since going gluten free. I may have been reacting to gluten or other intolerances in the food also. I am quite sure my body doesn't like fungi as I react with glands swelling when it is in the air...
  24. Are you newly gluten free? Are your parents near enough to have seen your struggle? I am hoping that they might begin to listen if they can possibly grasp what good it does for you. Other than that, I have 2 DQ2 and 2DQ8 genes, so a copy from each parent. I am in a similar boat. I wrote my parent's doctor and sent information, but so far as I know...
