  1. Post, post!!!!!
  2. At first I was kinda thought they were a bit pricey, but then I realized I usually get 2 meals out of a box, so I figure that is only like $3.25 per serving.
  3. I usually get Ketel One and 7, with lemon. I haven't had a problem yet but after pinkpei77's post maybe I'll just start drinking straight vodka...
  4. If you have a Wild Oats near you, they carry it. Or you can order it directly from their website. www.namastefoods.com They also have a feature on their website that lets you search what stores in your area carry it. I love the chocolate cake with some Vanilla Pillsbury frosting (not the whipped kind).
  5. Here's the info from their website. It doesn't list the hours, but give them a call. Sweet Karma Baking Company (516) 794-4478 550 E Meadow Ave , East Meadow, NY 11554
  6. I've had several things from them that were all very good. If you are already ordering, order the pizza. I know it's pricey, but it's incredible!
  7. Get the chocolate cake mix from Namaste. I guarantee you'll love it!!! Another suggestion is the cake recipes from Annalise Roberts book, Gluten Free Baking Classics, but the Namaste mix is a bit of a shortcut if that's what you're looking for.
  8. Y'know I was so determined to eat at my wedding and was not going to be one of those girls who didn't eat anything, but it turns out I barely ate. Not because of nerves or anything like that. I was just so busy talking to everyone, dancing and just having a great time. Right after the ceremony, the maitre'd took us to the bridal suite and brought us a few...
  9. I was actually diagnosed with celiac 3 quarters through planning my wedding, and the thing that probably had me more upset than any other part of the disease was the thought of not being able to have my own wedding cake. Well I did exactly what you have in mind. I had the top layer made as a gluten free cheesecake and the rest of the cake was gluten filled...
  10. LOL!! I went to Woodstock in '99 and I always say the most valuable skill I learned was how to pee standing up!!
  11. Thanksgiving always has been and still is my favorite holiday; celiac and all. We go to my uncles house every year and I think part of what still makes this such a great day for me, is it's one of the few days where I'm not the only celiac in the room. I was diagnosed after my 1st cousin found out she had celiac, and then my brother was diagnosed after me...
  12. WOW, I wish everyone where like you!! I mean never mind just wanting to make sure your grandma and guest have a gluten free meal, but you actually signed up on a message board to make sure!! That's incredible!! Everything you highlighted seems ok, but just double check the roast beef. If it is in any sort of Au Jus sauce, that is often thickened with flour...
  13. Hi all, I went to Outback tonight, and my waitress said even though they don't have the gluten free menu right now she would make everything was ok, and she wrote gluten free next to my order. She was really sweet, honestly one of the best servers I had there. I had a delicious gluten free dinner even without the official menu. I was sure to leave...
  14. Last night I had Tinkyada pasta with sausage and tomato sauce and some cheese melted in.
  15. I think it says on their website it says these are made on a completely seperate line than their regular products so you should be ok. I haven't had any reaction.
  16. I think San-J makes one (not positive).
  17. Massapequa is closer to them than East Meadow, but the bagels are only sold at the bakery in East Meadow.
  18. This is totally ironic that you are posting this because I just happened to call them 2 days ago to find out if any of their stuff is gluten free. The woman I spoke with was very knowledgeable and very nice. She said all of their sauces are gluten free. I asked about the bbq fried rice and she said they do add soy sauce to it, but she said if I call ahead...
  19. I've been dying for French Onion Soup and recently found the Wolfgang Puck soups. The organic french onion soup is delicious. I just made it and put some mozzarella cheese on top and melted it in the oven. Sooooo good!!!
  20. LOL!!! I had the same temper tantrum!!!
  21. My cousins celiac was triggered by her pregnancy. She never had symptoms before that and after she had her baby she lost massive amounts of weight (without trying to lose the baby weight). She was pretty much instantly diagnosed. That is how I was diagnosed. When she found out and told the family and told us it was hereditary it instantly explained my years...
  22. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Mama's!!!!! I wouldn't go back to Cafe Baldo to eat because I didn't think the food was that great; but the cookies my friends got me the other day were really good. I'll definately keep that bakery in mind. Thanks for the info!!
  23. There is yellow corn flour in it. I eat atleast a box a week of these. LOL!!!
  24. 1. FIRST NAME? Jillian 2. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE? Nope 3. WHEN DID YOU LAST CRY? I made crying sounds when I fell down the stairs on Saturday but didn't actually cry. (I'm really clumsy) 4. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING? It's ok. 5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT? Ham 6. KIDS? Nope 7. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON WOULD YOU BE...
  25. Yeah real estate in Westchester is not exactly cheap. We love to watch these home shows that show what you can get in other parts of the country for the same dollar amount. It's crazy!! I mean for what we could buy a 1 bedroom apt. for in Westchester, you can have a 4 bedroom, gorgeous house elsewhere. Luckily I had a lot of savings (which are now totally...
