  1. "Beware of anything containing regular vinegar, as it's made from grain and has gluten. Switch to a fruit vinegar (apple cider vinegar is what I use now)." "Regular" vinegar is ok....I copied this from a previous post that helps explain (taken from "lovegrov" aka Richard) "Malt vinegar is actually brewed from malted barley and therefore is not gluten...
  2. I agree-I just found the Larabars and was pleasantly surprised! Even my husband (non-Celiac) liked them.
  3. I drink it and have had no problems. Happy birthday
  4. I picked up a little printout from CoverGirl at the grocery store recently, in the make-up section (it was in a little dispenser like they have for coupons). It has a list of ingredients for: Triple Lipstick SPF15 Smoothers Hydrating Lip Color Smoothers Lipliner Smoothers Eyeliner Wetslicks Lipgloss Wetslicks Crystals Lipgoloss Eyeslicks...
  5. Could you please send me the restaurant list as well as the Delphi list? Thanks!
  6. Just thought I'd add my GREAT first experience at the Cheesecake Factory. The manager sat down and talked with me about what I could and couldn't have, and was very thorough. I had the Baja Chicken Tacos and they were WONDERFUL! Their sour cream had modified food starch so I didn't have that....but everything else on it was "naturally" gluten free....
  7. There is a CSA group that meets once a month in Norfolk-serves the whole Tidewater/Hampton Roads area. Many are members of the national CSA as well as GIG. I moved to the area in August and went last night for the first time. Here is the link (the info for next month's meeting might not be updated yet) : Open Original Shared Link Where do you live?

Yes! It is delicious!!!!!! It is their "normal" brownie.... people who "regularly" order it don't know that it's gluten free-I had eaten it before I was sick/diagnosed and never knew.
  9. Most people take awhile to feel 100% better....from days and weeks, to months and years, depending on damage and other factors. I remember when I went gluten-free, I would still get sick from very basic foods (gluten-free) and this went on for a few months until I was completely healed. For me, it was somewhat hard to tell in the beginning if I was "glutened...
  10. Open Original Shared Link That is a previous discussion about sodas that might be a good start
  11. Ditto!
  12. I love Amy's frozen foods! They are so good. Such a good thing when you are on the run!
  13. Open Original Shared Link There is a link for their gluten free items on that page. Like at other fast food places, there is a risk of cross contamination.
  14. My symptoms usually start within about 20-30 min.
  15. I found this on the Center for Celiac Research site (Dr. Fassano at Univ of Maryland) and thought that some might be interested in putting their name on the list for possible clinical trials.... Open Original Shared Link

  18. The lettuce wraps are on the gluten-free menu. They say something along the lines of "have them prepared with the gluten free soy sauce etc"
  19. Ditto to all that the others have said. I certainly hope that your weekend is brighter for you.
  20. Also in the area.
  21. Unfortunately, I had a very similar experience (very negative) with a dietician. She told me factually incorrect information-I think she kept mixing up Crohn's and Celiac. Told me I couldn't eat certain vegetables!!!! I had been diagnosed 3 weeks, was clueless to Celiac before being diagnosed, and knew WAY more information than she did-and I told her. It...
  22. Take care!
  23. There is a new Giant (Camp Hill, I believe) that is offering all sorts of cooking classes and seminars. There is one starting in November for gluten free cooking/baking! It is a three week course, and I believe its offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, both day and evening. One week they even do a "gluten free tour of the store" type thing. They also go over...
