  2. Haven't sent out an email, don't worry Will prob do that Monday or so, after my IV and app't. to catch up a bit: Patti: congratulations on Marc's new position. I hope the transition goes smoothly!!! Donna: congrats on the ending of your major treatment. woo hoo!! Rachel: looking forward to hearing about your app't. Lisa: I, also, am happy...
  3. Jessica, Not sure how long youhave been gluten free, but I see you are pretty new to this board. If it is the case that you are new to the diet, you probably haven't fully healed/fully recovered, etc. You ay be reacting to non-gluten things bc your body is having trouble digesting them (bc of not healing, etc.) You might be able to introduce it later...
  4. thank you so much for posting this. rebz-considering villi damage can be correlated with test scores, to me, your results are indicative of a problem with gluten.
  5. we are home and i am off to snuggle....but I wanted to say thank you to everyone for all of your infinitely kind and thoughtful words. other than my family, you guys are the ones who truly 'get it.' thank you, thank you, thank you. and i like the spice names . love, happy spice, and yes, judy, i did my happy dance
  6. Ok, I laughed out loud about that. I had forgotten that!!! Seriously though, I remember not sharing for a long time because I didn't think I was "as sick" as you or someone else, so then I didn't want it to look like a pity party for me. It took me a long time to admit to myself that I was as sick as I was, and longer to admit it to others. I know...
  7. rach- real quick---- thanks for all your sweet words and the running joke is that i'll send the results, with a nice letter (a la rinne!), and a picture of me, holding a certain finger up. don't worry, its a joke, but i've laughed (and cried) over it a handful of times already.
  8. ok, so right now i see judy, rinne, donna, and susan----this makes me feel like a huge part of my family is here with me right now.
  9. Patti and Donna: Thanks ladies!!!!!!! I think it is huge to. It is seriously the biggest relief. I never remembered a tick...but this is all proof that there was one h$ll of one that got me..... I think I'm in shock.
  10. BIG NEWS (sorry to jump in here, but I do need to share) I hadn't even had the guts to share that my Igenex Lyme and co-infections tests were in, as of yesterday. I almost didn't want to know----scared of a positive, scared of a negative. I got the results this afternoon. I tested POSITIVE for Babesia (my dr. had said she was sure I had it...
  11. hmmm i'm going to have to think about your spice name bev. but Dr. spice is good, too. (although not the same charm of dock ter it which made me laugh!)
  12. Smart girlfriend She should brush her teeth, rinse, etc before smooching. (You wouldn't lick a glass that just had beer in it, or lick a plate that just had a sandwich on it....same theory)
  13. Open Original Shared Link from the above story: "I now felt encouraged to explore further. In August of 2000, I attended the 9th International Symposium on Celiac Disease in Baltimore, Maryland. The very first lecture solved my mystery. Not only is there a problem with fertility, repeated spontaneous abortions (yes, my miscarriages) and amenorrhea in...
  14. Each yellow tablet contains...
  15. Deb---you are right. Celiacs really are a bunch of nice people! I second what others have said. Bring your own food, if someone asks, say you have some food issues, and that you would much rather enjoy the company of everyone than risk taking a chance. Then change the subject. I think most people respect me for it when they see that I've taken control...
  16. Jenny: I was down to 8 foods last fall, no oils, fats, spices, etc., when I was at my lowest low. I was violently reacting to any and all foods. I was dx'ed with lyme, mycoplasma, high levels of viruses, one definite lyme co-infection, and potentially/probably one other. My digestive issues were my main ones, followed by the "generic" symptoms....fatigue...
  17. Julie: sent you a PM. Carla....julie will like her and yes julie...if i think a dr. is competent....and i like them....wow. Thats a rarity.
  18. Thanks for the update, Bev. I am so happy that you KNOW and are starting treatment. It can be rough at first for some, but in the long run, its worth it. Start TODAY keeping a journal. You can even do it on an excel spreadsheet. I put the date, and then what my day was like. I include everything I take/time frame. I also describe symptoms, if any, etc...
  19. check out the book in my signature...it has a chapter on pregnancy/celiac. search on pubmed about celiac...to see how serious it is.
  20. The only one that I have experience with is from gfsoap.com; it is gluten, casein, soy, corn, etc free.
  21. Yeah, trust me, its not the end of the world . I carry Immodiums with me at all times.
  22. I did it when I started the IVs...for a couple weeks, maybe?
  23. New England Clam Chowder (the thick and hearty version, not the 'traditional' version)
  24. That is definitely the truth! But, the good thing is, it DOES get better. Luckily there are great people on this board ready to answer any and all questions Hopefully this list will help some, too. (from Open Original Shared Link This is the list of companies/brands that I understand will clearly label all sources of gluten in their products: ...
