  1. Happy Birthday, Rachel. Hope you have a wonderful day, sweetie! Thanks for all that you do for this board. xoxo, Laura
  2. shanbr: I think that its two different stories about the biopsy. Its one thing if you haven't gone gluten-free....but its another story to go gluten free, and then ask someone to go back to eating gluten for a prolonged period of time. The first scenario, I usually recommend it (if it is financially possible, etc). The second situation---I would support...
  3. Hope that this list will help: Arrowhead Mills, Aunt Nelly's, Balance, Baskin Robbins, Ben & Jerry, Bertoli, Betty Crocker, Blue Bunny, Breyers, Campbells, Cascadian Farms, Celestial Seasonings, ConAgra, Country Crock, Edy's, General Mills, Good Humor, Green Giant, Haagen Daz, Hellman's, Hershey, Hormel, Hungry Jack, Jiffy, Knorr, Kozy Shack, Kraft...

  5. Tinkyada (rice based) pasta Minute rice
  6. doctors can do a true "allergy" (immediate reaction) test by doing an IgE food allergy test for casein/dairy. For "intolerances"/delayed allergies, they can run an IgG blood test for it.
  7. deb: thanks for pointing that out. the 'shipping' part never occurred to me.
  8. Candi, What wonderful news! Im happy you are starting to feel better quick meals for me include: baked potato cooked in microwave with butter, sour cream, cheese, etc. progresso's thick and hearty (not traditional) new england clam chowder soup salad with gluten free dressing (add cooked chicken, steak, beef) fish (tilapia, salmon): put...
  9. Hey Jillian, I use a multivitamin from this site:Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link because it is gluten-free and other 'free' things. I have also used the One A Day products, also. Laura

  12. Chris, just wanted to voice a source of support and appreciate all the info you have posted. Laura
  13. Yes, you do have to eat gluten for that long for any chance of an ACCURATE test. All that being said: if you do better on the diet, you do NOT need to do anything you don't want to do. My drs didn't do the right tests, and did the biopsy while I was gluten-free. Other drs have tried to make me go back on gluten and I refused to---because I get so violently...
  14. I'm lucky enough to finally live down the street from a WF. I agree with FF that it is cheaper to make many of these products yourself. I make my own brownies, cookies, etc. (Ok-I lie-my mom makes them for me!) But, for the things that I get from them, I don't mind paying extra for a company that supports the gluten-free community, has an entirely...
  15. Mamatide: Thanks so much for sharing your recipe---it sounds delicious. I love anything with cream cheese . My mom started making pancake sandwiches for me as well...I forget which mix we use (bobs, maybe?) and I do love them. We add some buttermilk to it, which makes it scrumptious. Now I'm hungry
  16. benny: I fully agree with what others have posted. Can you get a copy of your blood tests and post them? I'd be interested to see which of the celiac tests you were positive on. There is a set of five tests that your dr. should have run in the whole Celiac panel. The latest research is that you need to be eating gluten for a number of months, at a...
  17. btw-the hth conference is down the street from me---and I'll be out of town!
  18. Susan: Since there is no "standard" for what a Lyme "positive" is, there really isn't a way to say its negative, either (unless you have absolutely no bands, generally). I was kind of in the middle. I had enough positive/significant bands that I WAS clinically diagnosed with Lyme. I also originally tested positive for RMSF, and that has since gone to negative...
  19. Except I'm out of town many weekends, and some weekends I am fine. I was fine for the race, fine for graduation, etc. Tracking my symptoms (every day since end of february) I am actually able to distinguish when I'm in a flare. I started having strange symptoms during the day yesterday, but then felt ok for the most of the night. Woke up feeling ill today...
  20. BG: Gluten can be in anything, unfortunately. Doesn't mean that it is, but one of the most important things to know on the gluten-free diet is that NOTHING goes in your mouth unless you know its ingredients are safe. If it doesn't say anything on the bottle about being free of certain allergens or if you are unsure of what the ingredients are, I would recommend...
  21. Dr. Fasano's dietician spoke at a support group recently, and said that even one week of a gluten free diet can radically alter the results of the biopsy. Considering that the damage found in a biopsy and the blood test results are often correlated in severity, you need to be eating gluten for an extended amount of time for the results to be accurate. If...
  22. Patti, tell me you are moving to my neck of the woods We are all going to fight over you. Speaking of the SIBO, I am starting my sequence of treatment for it, either tonight or tomorrow. Even though I tested neg for it, I'm still having GI issues, so she wants to try it. I'm home sick today...I think I'm starting to flare again. I seem to be on...
  23. absolutely love their pizza crusts, buttermilk biscuits, and apple pie
