  1. Sara, You are not alone. I rarely have diarrhea, my norm is chronic constipation. I went to my Dr. with that for years, and he just advised stool softeners and laxatives after having me do a colonoscopy (never mentioned celiac, or tested me). When I get poisoned, I will generally be affected for 48-72 hours, then another 24 hours to recover. Most...
  2. Oh Man, Mitzi, that stinks. I was waiting for something like that this morning myself, but it never came.... YAY!!!!!
  3. Once my body started healing and actually allowed me start absorbing B12, my energy levels skyrocketed. I get these 2-pack bottles of sublingual tablets from Sam's club - Simply Right or something - they are cherry flavored and melt under your tongue and are amazing for me. Even better, they are labeled "Gluten Free". A year ago, when I was completely...
  4. Taco Bell has a terrible track record for food content and quality. A GI Doctor who is recommending them is a GI Doctor I would switch away from.
  5. Like Bartfull said, I find also to be fine - push forward without it being an issue. I find it affects me most emotionally when I go through contamination's. I just want to pull back into my safe cell and that is counter-productive at an emotional level yet I can't help it sometimes.
  6. I know how you feel. Many of our life's bonding experience take place around the old diet. Drinks, Desserts, Lunches and Dinners. Whether it is social or professional. I was even looking at going on a Mountain Biking group ride yesterday, and the post said - At the end of the ride we will go to XXXXXXXXXXX for lunch. I know that restaurant, and couldn...
  7. In addition to gluten, I am being negatively affected by other things that are kind of hard to pin down. At the moment I'm on an extremely limited diet, which allows me to recover. However if I stray away from a very tight grouping of food/drink I get poisoned. An acquaintance mentioned that he had done this immunolab testing, and learned some things...
  8. My guess is that you have an intolerance to something which causes gluten like reactions in your digestive system. I've been running into the same thing. First nuts, then powerade, then gatorade, then other gluten-free labeled processed items. I'm down to a very limited selection of things that seem stable and safe. From there, I try to bring things...
  9. I understand binging behavior as it applies to me, and only me.... I have Celiac, and then several other intolerance foods or ingredients. When I've had a stressful day/week and feel like sitting it a dark cool room and eating for comfort as I watch a movie, I still can't even begin to consider doing it with a food that I know will harm me in the intolerance...
  10. It is mind boggling, when you think about it. Salt could have a list of 6 ingredients, but when salt is an ingredient in and of itself, we just get "salt". I use a Himalayan Sea Salt/grinder - it just says "Himalayan Sea Salt".
  11. The ratio continues to show more and more people have been misdiagnosed. Open Original Shared Link
  12. I know I had a reaction a couple/few weeks ago to Tyson's grilled chicken strips that were gluten-free labeled. This was the only food I had eaten, so it was an isolated consumption and had to be the chicken. Somebody commented that the "chicken stock" would be a very possible door way to how something with gluten could get into a product marked gluten...
  13. I would only go to Olive Garden if it was necessary for a meeting or something. There is just not much there for us. It's sad... I used to love the OG.

    ARCHIVED Chipotle

Look again. I know a franchise owner.
  15. I just went through allergy testing for a number of foods that started giving me gluten type reactions (such as peanuts/almonds/cashews/pistacio's). Tested negative to all. If I have a handful of peanuts, I bloat with brain fog and joint pain very quickly.
  16. When I purposefully had gluten to "make sure", wow - crippled with stomach aches, bloated instantly, major joint pain, and actual bile trying to come up my throat - like maybe whatever acid reflux is? I'm definitely intolerant, hopefully Celiac (so I can get FMLA at work). Kind of stinks that I have to "hope" for it, but I need the FMLA protection. Blood...
  17. I wish my doctor of 15+ years in Denver had diagnosed me, or even suggested the possibility. I developed several of the symptoms while living there - bloating, constipation, joint pain, other unexplained pains, inability to absorb nutrients. I assumed my body simply couldn't handle the altitude, but maybe there is something to the environment if it...

    ARCHIVED Food

Carraba's is part of the Fleming Restaurant group, so they will know their gluten-free business. I've eaten at Carraba's and the waitress was well educated.
  19. I'm not as willing to risk 3 days (or even 3 hours) of my health as evidently Lorena Garcia is with her entire body of work and career.
  20. The one thing I don't know - but in my quick review of the app in Google Play - I saw an update where they added The Keg restaurant. My anecdote on this.... I was going to go to the Keg this past weekend. I googled it in terms of gluten-free and received a lot of "Said gluten-free but got poisoned" post reviews. I might download the free trial version...
  21. Caselynn, Can you tell me anything specific about your reaction to gatorade? Today's reaction must have been gatorade, which had been ok before. Today's reaction for me is not as severe as glutening, but there is no doubt I have joint pain, bloating, and constipation. Also, my body seems to be running hotter than when I'm perfectly clean.
  22. I confirmed with myself that I can't handle Pirate's Booty. I have also confirmed with myself that gatorade is fine for me, but powerade is a no-no. I don't do the vitamin water drinks, they often have artificial sweeteners which I can't do. EDIT.... Today, my total intake had been a banana before the gym, a lot of water, a gatorade frost purple...
  23. I know from my personal experience with me... and only me... In 1998 I was working out of town two weeks at a time. Atkins was all the rage at that time, I was celiac disease undiagnosed, so when I was out of town I was on a diet that very close to gluten free. I felt great and weight loss was huge and energy was way up. Then two weeks would go...
  24. Thanks, everybody. I know I should call them, but I'm too angry at them to give them my time. As has been mentioned - I'm learning... I have to allow myself to make my own packaged goods.... So this weekend I will cook up a bunch of meats that I can store in the freezer and not have to worry about last minute options. I trusted Tyson's "GLUTEN...
  25. It's good you are now gluten-free, you may notice some additional growth. Genetics most likely are going to limit you to some number around your father and brother, but not necessarily exactly. My dad was 5'11, my brother is 5'9, and I'm 6'2. My brother was born premature, so that appears to have played a role in his smaller stature. As I've stated...
