  1. Actually these weren't considered "safe" they were just really low IgG reactions. A completely healthy person probably wouldnt experience symptoms for a very low IgG reaction...unless maybe they ate tons of the reactive food. I, on the other hand react to my "very low" spices. I didnt have any high or moderate reactive foods....just these very low ones...
  2. About the malabsorption. The tests my doctors ran on me came back negative for malabsorption so they figured I couldnt have Celiac plus I didnt have diarreah (which I now know is not a symptom you have to have). I had lost 25 lbs. and my Enterolab results came back showing high malabsorption. I think like anything else there can be errors made in the...
  3. It looks to me like your results are positive for Celiac Disease.

I had the same questions when I got my results back too. I thought gluten sensitivity was *lesser* of a diagnosis and couldnt possibly be the cause of all my problems. I was wrong...the people here set me straight. It is not less serious than Celiac Disease and the symptoms can be the same. I was on disabilty for 2 years before I got diagnosed. I just went...

Hey Joe, It's really up to you about going back on gluten for a biopsy. The results of your gene test show you don't carry a main Celiac gene so the chances of a positive biopsy are probably slim. My GI doc believes there is more to learn about the genes as far as Celiac goes...from all my research it seems like there is only a very small chance...like...

Yes...I agree. Get as much testing done as you can especially if you're still eating gluten. If you've already started the diet and still persue testing (as I did) just be aware that false negatives can and do occur.

Ooops...I posted on my Mom's username. The last post was from me.
  9. I know what you mean. Why do they fight back when they *know* because you've told them a million times and they've *seen* it before yet still they fight back. It makes the situation so much worse and for me its like pouring lighter fluid on an already pretty big fire. I hate that...its so frusterating. I always want to be left alone when...
  10. Yeah I do. In the back of my mind I know its got to do with gluten and of course people will tell me to realize its just a reaction. Not so easy for me to control though....I don't rationalize at the moment I'm feeling it. I can't just stop and laugh at myself...to me the feelings whether its anger, frusteration or depression are very real at the time and...
  11. What were her symptoms and are they gone now? I was tested for overgrowth in stool which obviously caused no pain but I dont know if the test was accurate. Who ran the test for you?
  12. I suspected I had a bacterial overgrowth (yeast) before I found out about gluten sensitivity. Tests didnt reveal an overgrowth but did reveal that I have no beneficial bacteria. I still wonder about this because how could I not have an overgrowth if there is nothing there to keep bad bacteria "in check". I'm going to be seeing my GI soon for my biopsy...

Yeah....I wonder about this myself. Something like 70% have positive stool tests. Do you think this is because the vast majority of people paying for these tests already suspect a gluten problem and are already symptomatic, have family members with gluten sensitivity or are there just *that* many people out there who react negatively to gluten w/ or w/out...
  14. I was very constipated before I went gluten-free. I did feel very toxic all the time as well. Since eliminating all gluten I immediately became "regular". I even have more than 1 bm a day now. Not being gluten-free probably explains your constipation. Keep doing what you're doing for the tests...hopefully you are having them soon? If the tests are negative...

I had bloodtests first then Enterolab a year later. I was told of Celiac and tried out the diet first. I asked my doctor to test me for Celiac but was already gluten-free (only 2 weeks though). During the time I was trying the diet I was feeling a little better but my results were negative so I moved on with trying to figure out what was wrong with me. ...

My questionaire stated that yes, I had been tested via bloodwork and those results were negative. However my Enterolab results were positive. The most convincing results for me were the results of the malabsorption test. I had been complaining of malabsorption for a year and it fell on deaf ears. My doctors were adamant that I did NOT have malabsorption...
  17. Guess I was the same way except I barged in with a ton of questions *before* I got diagnosed....everyone here was great and thank God I learned about Enterolab since my bloodtests were neg. and I was really suffering. Might seem hard to believe but in real life I'm pretty shy....until you get to know me.

I wholeheartedly agree. I do not think his tests are all that expensive considering the kind of money I spent trying to find answers for 3 years. Endless doctor appointments, prescriptions, tests, supplements, lost wages...it all adds up. It was all useless and a waste of my time and money. The doctors suck. My doctor told me I didnt have to be eating gluten...
  19. LOL....Matilda that is really funny!!
  20. I agree. It's not something you wanna mess around with. I have thyroid problems too but didn't find out about the gluten problem till 5 years later. For you a gluten free diet might correct the thyroid problem.
  21. My Mom went with me to a few of my doctor appointments and she was there last week for my biopsy. I guess we will always be our mother's babies cuz I'm 34 now! She's really helped me through this whole ordeal. She reads the posts on here daily and she's all "caught up" on how to not contaminate me when I'm at her house. Guess I'm pretty lucky to have such...
  22. Thanks...I feel alot better too.
  23. Me too!!! I love Big-Mac's and miss them very much. My dreams are the kind where I forget all about my troubles and eat just like everyone else does and then....as I'm digging into my spaghetti I suddenly remember everything. I'm completely panicked and crying thinking that I've ruined everything and I'm going to get sick all over again. When...
  24. George, Thanks for sharing your results. I think I told you when I had mine done I only reacted to alfalfa and mustard. They were colored yellow (1+) which meant low. I also had a seperate spice panel done and I had alot come back green (very low). These were not included on my little card because the reaction was too low. -basil -black pepper...
