  1. I just had their latest magazine, and they are shortly launching an app version of their book listing gluten-free products. I quite like that idea, and it means it will be kept up to date, hopefully. If only we could pesuade them to break it down to avoid dairy and soy, we'd be sorted
  2. Aw, that all sounds much better The pan dropped from about 4 feet or so onto a hard ceramic tiled floor. I think it must have hit at just the right angle.... Broke the floor tile too. I'm still quite impressed 6 years on. Keep it up Mom
  3. Sad day in the Mindwarp household. My old cat died this morning, just went out of the back door and she was lying there peacefully like she was asleep. Kids are very sad, it is our first pet to die. We are making pictures and play doh models and printing some photos, and when we get her ashes will bury them under our little apple tree. She was a lovely...
  4. Many people on this board have used Kraft safely for years. We try to ensure that there is evidence if a claim is made that something is not safe, which I think is what people are trying to tell you. The danger is extremely remote if it is there at all, and it is important that people do not feel the need to restrict their diets if food is safe, particularly...
  5. I like to use coconut milk for a creamy sauce for pasta. I usually just put some in a pan, after cooking up little garlic and stir for half aminute or so then throw the pasta in and a bit of lemon or lime juice. I have done this with a couple of anchovies for a jar, which gives a bit of a bite like soy sauce. I have actually used this as a sauce with...
  6. Hi Niks I think you just hit a quiet patch, but I have moved you into the parents section and hopefully you will get some replies here. It tends to pick up in the afternoon and evening. Welcome to the board, there is very likely to be someone along at some point. Don't be afraid to ask lots of question. Two possibilities which occur to me are hidden...
  7. I am rubbish at cooking extra. I sometimes manage enough for lunch the next day, but nothing seems to make it to the freezer. Salmon rice and veg later
  8. Sound like good news Hope the FODMAPS goes well. Many of us have a range of other intolerances too, and cutting out those can make a world of difference.
  9. Sounds encoraging, let us know how you get on. Have you spotted the gluten inolerance and beahaviour section? It might be of interest to you https://www.celiac.com/forums/forum/52-gluten-intolerance-and-behvior/
  10. My bust didn't get bigger, but I have lost weight and totally changed shape gluten-free, my body fat seems to have redistributed. I reckon hormones the likely culprit...
  11. I like acupuncture too, but I personally wouldn't want to rely solely on that for diagnosis for something as serious as thyroid etc. Just my opinion :-) Cocoa is an annoying one Good luck
  12. A week isn't lmg gluten-free, and some people get withdrawal from gluten, which might be what you experienced. Atkins is a way into realizing a gluten connection for quite a few people. If your tests are negative, it is worth considering Non Celiac Gluten Intolerance NCGI which doesn't come up on tests but has many of the same symptoms. Good luck...
  13. Hope it stays manageable and you get through. You know where we are
  14. Hey Nate Hope the dog walking etc. helps. We will be here if you need to talk it through when you get results, fingers crossed it will all be fine. You might find other answers about possible reasons, like additional intolerance - some of mine totally took me by surprise - dairy I kind of expeced, but corn and soy - seriously?? Hang in there Mw
  15. Not sure about kids, but 1st 6 weeks gluten-free my bladder was all over the place, and I an urgency thing, where I needed to go as soon as the signal came, which led to a few dashes. Hopefully it will settle soon
  16. The singulair worked well for my son, and he has infrequent attacks. He has the brown inhaler, clenil modulite daily too. The blue inhaler help him during attacks, but we sure need those preventers. Good luck with the cats. I am allergic, but not to all cats, but no obvious pattern. I come out to my own cat if I have been away a few days, but it gets better...
  17. I found my anxiety improved hugely when gluten-free a few weeks, hope yours does too. Anxiety is my first symptom when glutened now, but it passes in 2 to 3 days now.
  18. It could be Non Celiac Gluten Intolerance, which wouldn't show up on the tests. A trial of a strict gluten-free diet if the way to find out - if you feel better gluten-free, that might be an answer. It sounds as if you have other complicated stuff going on too, so it could be a piece of the jigsaw
  19. Sounds like time to check in with your doctor then, probably OK, but maybe not worth risking
  20. Some extra protein might help with the energy, having hard boiled eggs in the fridge can be helpful
  21. As someone with a son with a nut allergy, I'd seriously think before taking nuts, Anapylaxis is no fun for anybody....
  22. I bought chips for my daughters last picnic . No shame in that
  23. If this works it could be great news. My gluten challenge was pretty barbaric. Look forward to updates on this one
  24. I love those days too (not). My son is nut allergic, so different but similar. I tend to send him in with a lucnh box of things for him to eat, which I know are safe, and try to make it similar to what others migh have, so sandwich, chips, cupcake, fruit etc, and also send something for the class to share (but put his portion in the lunchbox already,...
  25. My husband and kids have their own counter space now. We also have separate utensils, so all of mine are purple and easy to spot! I have a purple toaster, breadbin etc. too, and pink dishcloths. We use a lot of foil on the grill, and paper towels for wiping down. If I have to clear breadcrumbs for example, I use a wet paper towel and throw away, then wash...
