    Pediatric GI told us this week that our daughter will take 6-12 months to heal and that there's no reason to look before then because it's invasive and they don't expect it to be miraculously fast. Hang in there!

    We've only been gluten free for about 4 weeks, but the first thing I noticed is FINGERNAILS! She has always had very brittle nails that don't grow, just crumble off. I looked at her the other day and realized that she has healthy fingernails! It feels like a victory.

    My daughter only has celiac - diagnosed by biopsy, antibody tests, and genetic test. That's enough and I hope that's her only problem! We are strong and healthy and want to stay that way!

    I asked the doctor about having the other girls tested and she said that it may not be worth the cost. Her recommendation was to switch them to gluten free if we suspect celiac or start to notice symptoms OR just do the genetic test.
