Since I'm still learning you many of you probably know these ones but they got me....
The ham I ate on Christmas Eve (glazed in more than brown sugar!)
My vitamins
licorise
BBQ sauce (most of them)
smoked salmon spread (damn MSG)
FYI: MSG had no gluten, but some react...it is not gluten related.

Has anyone got a mayonnaise recipe? I miss it (think it's usually made with vinegar...) Oh and any good vegetarian gluten-free evening meal recipes? I'm not vege but it makes me feel brilliant
when I eat it! x
A lot of Mayo is gluten free, Hellmans and Dukes, are two of them. Vinegar is ok as long as it is not malt vinegar.

I have been (as always, as best) for almost a year and a half and I am still learning.
After an obvious gluten experience, I re-traced my steps. I knew that it had to be one of three things and I still am not sure. One being cornbread made by and older friend, who claimed it was "just cornbread", some do contain flour; second a shift from what I was drinking although, distilled; three Burt's Bee's Strawberry Conditioner (which contains wheat proteins - in the garbage as we speak)!
When you do begin to feel better, often, you get slack, at least I do. My symptoms often remind me, that I just can't do it.
What product, that surprised you, contained gluten? I think this will help others, so please post.

Sweetie:
It sounds like it is inflamed and you do need to see a doctor. Don't wait until your big appointment. Get to a clinic tomorrow even if you have to wait. You can make up school late.
Let us know how you're doing.

Try some Swanson's Chicken Broth (not Organic) with some rice noodles, or rice. I hope that you both feel better soon.

She's a smart cookie! Glad to hear she's resting comfortably! We love you Patti!

Not having children with celiac, I hesitated to post. I had the endoscopy exam and biopsy and it was a non issue for me other than the anxiety before hand.
I do want to add something. Insurance is an important factor here with an official diagnosis. If you have a laps in your insurance policies, perhaps from a job relocation or other, some insurance companies may consider Celiac a pre-existing condition and some may deny benefits.
I CURRENTLY have insurance, but the airlines have taken everything else away, I expect that to go as well. Getting new health insurance on me may be very difficult and very costly.
Just a little food for thought.

I just want to add that the food listing regulations are for the US. I am not up on the regulations in the other countries that frequent this site.

Emily:
I am not of any help to you on your questions, but I just wanted to add that I am sorry that this trama has effected your family and my thought go out to you and your sister and husband.

Yes, to the best of my knowledge. I would take your own soy sauce. When I want a good taste, I use wheat free tamari. La Choy is also gluten free.

Hello all...Happy New Year! So here's the thing...I'm a vegetarian...have been for about 10 years. Lately I've been seriously craving meat...has this happened to any other vegetarians? I don't really want to start eating meat but my body seems to want it. Anyone know what's up?
It sounds like your body is trying to tell you something.

I need the letter to the teacher, the nurse letter and the safe school supplies list. Can anyone help me find them? I must be having a mental block, I have searched everywhere on the web .. Thanx so much in advance.
About a year ago someone posted a very detailed letter for schools. Do a search here, it may show up.

Hey babe:
Congratulations on your endurance!! You have a big appointment coming up. Make sure that you keep us up to date. It has been great having you around, walking to school in the snow. My father used to tell me the story.."I used to walk a mile in the snow with my sisters shoes....." bla, bla, bla"

Colonoscopy Vs. Endoscopy?
in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Posted
If you want to test for Celiac, you need an endoscopy exam ( down the throat ) with a tube that can extract 6-8 biopsy samples. Demand that they do at least 6-8 samples. A colonoscopy is a good routine exam and to test for other problems.
The procedure is easy. Make sure that you bring someone with you, as you will not remember what is told to you after the procedure.
Good luck
