  1. You can also get gluten free fried rice at PF Chang's even though it's not on the menu (I'm a server at Chang's). Just tell your server you want your fried rice made with the gluten free sauce, if they give you any grief (which they shouldn't unless they're just incredibly bad at their job) then ask to see the manager.

Cheers to you T-bone, a star amongst us.!!!

  2. The poll feature was already here....but you're right Michelle....noone has been using it lately.

I always enjoyed the polls. :)

How come I have to log in everytime I come back on?? I never had to do this before....I was always logged in and it stayed that way.

Now I have to go through the process each time I come to the board. Anyone else experiencing this? How can I fix it?

Not me.. Isn't there a box to check to remember your log in password. Try that.

  3. Sue:

    Welcome!

There is soooo much information here to read. Try to read through these posts and you will find just about everything you need to know.

Nini, a board member has a "Newbi Survival Kit". I bet that she will post soon with that invaluable information.

Many people here, when they have begun their gluten-free diet, have difficulty with dairy. I would recommend that you back off that a bit untill you begin healing and then gradually begin an intoduction.

I considered my dx's with celiac as a new healthy beginning, sure a heck beats cancer (which I though).

Good luck and always feel free to ask away.

  4. Oh yes, it was not so long ago when I was panicked, struggling and clueless about Celiac Disease. This was my first experience on a message board, as many of you remember. Kaitie, celiac3270, Karen, Lynne, Patti, Judy, Mouse, Rachel, richard, Shirley, as well as others, walked me through this maze, and with their help, I found my way out. Many have become dear friends.

I truely could not have become healthy without ALL of you and I give you my thanks. :)

PS: That's about as sappy as I get, so enjoy it. :P

  5. Scatterbrain could definatly be a symptom, although I have several friends with this condition, who are not celiac. I would lump that into the "brain fog" symptom. I do remember driviing down the road and totally forgeting where I was going. And I would start a sentence and not remember what my point was and stopped in mid stream.

The knee issue, perhaps that could be age related and weight related, but don't think is is celiac related.

  6. This is a great idea!

I have one question, which regards viewing new posts. So far, I only know how to access *all* the new posts. But I don't know how to get to a listing of new posts in only those threads that I have a discussion going it. Sometimes I don't have time to check all the new threads, and there are a few discussions that I have lost track of, don't know how to find again, but would like to see if anyone has contributed something that I missed. Is there such a feature? Does anyone know?

There is a little box next to the topic, that you can click on to see the new posts , something like "last known view", it was there before the changes....You can see your last known view.

  7. ok i see the ABCwith ck sign under it in top right corner.

now i'm afraid to click it as it 'says what you printed it did'

Don't want my spell ck dis abled.

    judy

    Judy:

I can go back to MY spell check, I just asked for both to do the same duty, and my computer got confused. Sounds like I know somthin, don't it.

  8. Cassidy:

I really don't understand your question. I had a endoscopy exam and biopsy which indicated Celiac with blutting of the villi, and after a two month period of being gluten free, a NEW doctor wanted to see what a Celiac Panel looked like, and of course it was negative. So, therefore, he is doubtful. (who cares!)

I know that I did not answer your questions, but help me out, so I can try. (not you, I am sure it's me).

  9. Lisa:

I am sure that it is hard for you now. But the most important thing is that YOU know. Just remember how hard it was for you to learn how to eat gluten free, and imagine how difficult it is for people who don't need to worrry about it.

Things will change, slowly perhaps, but I am certain that a change will come. Hang in there.

  10. This is strange.... I clicked "add reply" and I see it currently in the upper right. When I click on it, a pop-up come up , "ie Spell Not Detected. Click OK to download page"........so what the heck does that mean. This has also has unabled, MY computer spell check. It obviously is not working properly.

  11. Sarah:

I am curious, after being gluten free for over two years and feeling better, why you want to be tested? It would seem to me that positive dietary response, it would be clear that you either have Celiac or and intolerance.

But, yes, to get the blood panel, you should eat the equal amount to three pieces of bread a day for a period of time, I can't recall. Your panel will not be accurate if you have been gluten free for so long.

And then you will feel crappy again.

I am sure other will post soon.

  12. I have been gluten free for 1 week today. Feeling better. Though still a couple of questons.....

1)I do have diarrhea EVERY morning after my coffee. I use non dairy creamer and nutrasweet. Could it be this?

2)I have a headache everyday. It is relived with Excedrin. Am I addicted to Excedrin or is this a symptom of gluten intolerance?

    3) Do I have to use gluten-free products if I dont have skin issues?

Thank you all. I dont know where I would be without you!!!

    Shannon

    Shannon,

Glad that you are feeling better. Coffee is a stimulant, even for non-celiacs. If possible, perhaps a switch to tea in the morning would be helpful with the Diarrhea.

I should think that is you continue to be gluten free your headaches will deminish, as it has with many here. Too much medication of any sort it really pretty hard on your stomach.

And finally, yes you personal products must be gluten free. Shampoo will get into your mouth during a shower, lotions as well and most importantly make sure that your lipsticks are gluten free. Any gluten that can get into your mouth will cause damage.

    Hope that was helpful

  13. I have to agree with Tiffany. When my husband is home on R&R, he is more paranoid than I am about gluten. All it took was for him to realize that when I don't eat gluten, I have energy for sex and I'm not constantly complaining about not feeling well.

ding, ding,ding....tell me it ain't so, but it is. <_<
