  1. You may have Celiac Disease, a gluten intolerance/sensitivity or a gluten allergy. There is no way to tell which you have through testing by Enterolabs. Enterolabs response is very misleading, in listing symptoms associated with undiagnosed Celiac Disease. They cannot tell you if you have Celiac Disease. "For optimal health, resolution of symptoms...
  2. Well, I hope you enjoyed them Don't feel too bad. I don't condone an occasional temptation, but it's just hard to be perfect.
  3. Yipeeee, what a special treat!!
  4. Did you have a endoscopy or a colonoscopy? Flattened mucosa can be found in the small intestines and it can indicate ulcerated colitis, as well as other things of concern in the large intestines. It would be wise to pursue additional medical advise.
  5. There may be some products out there that say they test for the presents of gluten in prepared food. But, I wouldn't waste money on those gimicks. I would recommend the Triumph Dining Guide as well as the Triumph Grocery Guide. Educating yourself regarding gluten, can minimize your risk in dealing with the outside world.
  6. Modified starch is derived from corn in the US, unless otherwise stated. I don't know about the other ingredients, but those you listed should not be a problem.
  7. Not so far in the past, all of Amy's products said "gluten free" - I guess they haven't corrected their website yet. You might also find that statement on other products as a CYA statement. You just have to weight that decision to see if it's right for you to consume those products.
  8. Amy's does not say "gluten free", it says No Gluten is added. It means that there is a change for cross contamination during processing, due to other products they make that do contain gluten. In these times, gluten free would be a wild apple you picked from a tree.
  9. Happy Birthday Emily!! This has been floating around, thought the sillies might enjoy this: Everyone has a personality of a cartoon character. Have you ever asked yourself what cartoon character do you most resemble? A group of investigators got together and analyzed the personalities of well known and modern cartoon characters. The information...
  10. I used to live in Elm Grove, a very long time ago.
  11. Hummm...well, you know that everyone is different. Your reaction time could be extended. You might not know what tomorrow will bring. (twizzlers were very hard for me to digest, when I did eat them. A bady tummy is understandable.)
  12. It would be helpful if frogleggs could post the blood panel results. Not all positives indicate Celiac. That would be a good place to start. This this the panel that should have been taken: Anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA) both IgA and IgG Anti-endomysial antibodies (EMA) - IgA Anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies (tTG) - IgA Total IgA...
  13. I am glad that your daughter is doing so well. I wish that I could locate the source, but I understand that up to 75% of the fluids that we consume are absorbed in our small intestines. If the villi damaged, that absorption is hindered. Thirst is very common among newly diagnosed. Once healing begins, the thirst will subside to a normal intake...
  14. Josh, Open Original Shared Link Yeast is not a gluten concern. Wine Fresh grapesMain article: Fermentation (wine) Yeast is used in winemaking where it converts the sugars present in grape juice or must into alcohol. Yeast is normally already invisibly present on the grapes. The fermentation can be done with this endogenous (or wild...
  15. Welcome to the Club!!! You have found a wonderful place for information and support. I can't really answer you questions because everyone reacts differently. Have you checked your old toaster, wooden cutting boards and spoons, meds, vitamins? Gluten is very tricky and can hide everywhere, with lots of traps. It's interesting that you were...
  16. I am sorry that you niece has had such difficulties at such a young age. Your nieces doctor indicated that she had some documented damage due to Celiac in her intestines. That is enough of a diagnosis for her to go gluten free. The great part of Celiac Disease is that the prescription is the gluten free diet, and that costs nothing. There are...
  17. Open Original Shared Link Here is a listing that might be helpful. It would be wise to get a second confirmation. You response from the company as well as your lack of support from the hospital was very disappointing.
  18. A person absorbs most of your water intake through your small intestines. If your intestines are damage due to Celiac Disease, it hinders absorption. Excess thirst is very typical for those with intestinal damage or blunted villi. As healing takes place, thirst subsides. But, for now, drink like a fish if you feel you need to. As mentioned...
  19. What do the ingredients list on the label?
  20. How wonderful to have all these special birthday wishes!!! We (my whole family) went to the mountains for the weekend to visit my sister and her family. It was so beautiful and we had lots of laughs. Thank you my friends
  21. Everyone is different, but my thought is that you reaction time will begin to vary. At times, I have felt a reaction up to 24 hours later. Now, after three plus years gluten free, I have healed to the point that I do not reaction to gluten on a one time only basis. (possible cross contamination only). I have described it as a car rolling down the hill...
