  1. The CSA has recently declared that all distilled liquors remove the gluten in the process. I am able to drink Seagrams 7 and Maker's Mark with no issue. I don't feel comfortable with Jim Beans and Jack Daniels though. I know that Maker's Mark is listed on gluten free list. If you are not a big drinker, you can be one or two of the mini's. If it...
  2. I've been going through something similar for a week now. I am revisiting all my personal products and making a few inquiries from companies for the new products that I have introduced. With a one time gluten, it takes me about three days to feel better. I usually don't have digestive issues but more motor issues and a dry mouth is my first indicator...
  3. I knew what you meant. But this is a dead dog and I would say the same thing to Steve if he was awake across the pond Let's move on. We have other issue to tend to. Lisa
  4. Deb: I have sat back and watched this whole thread from the beginning to the end. Everyone on this board is here for the purpose to share pertinent information, asking concerning questions and seeking support due to Celiac and it's related issues. Your general statement that the forum is "catty", does a grave disservice to the good work done here...
  5. Diana: I am sorry the he feels so bad. If I recall correctly, Tums are not gluten free. Perhaps Mylanta may help a little bit better. Hope he feels better soon. Lisa edit: Tums may contain trace amounts of gluten.
  6. OOOPS, maybe that will make a believer out of him, finally.
  7. Thanks you both for that information. I just did mine. But, it does make you think a little. I guess your answers can reflect in your experience/time into the diet and your trust of manufactures to list correctly. I have to admit that when I was dx'd, I bought alot of gluten free foods. I also have to admit, that they are still here and I don...
  8. "(Would you like me to list names?)", I believe you have done that in the past.
  9. Wendy's actually has quite a few things that are gluten free compared to most fast foods. Caesar Side Salad - no croutons Fruit Bowl with yogurt Spring Mix Salad - no croutons Taco Supremo Salad Chilli Fruit Cup Burger - no bun Baked Potatoes
  10. Off hand, I can't think of brands, but alot of the fancy soaps contain wheat and oats.
  11. Char: You know, the choice is yours to make. I can only assume how difficult it is to feed you daughter things that will make her sick. I think a gene test would be the thing to do. And return to gluten free. I hope with this decision will relieve you anxiety. You sound like a very good mom.
  12. Warm up with your two choices. I was disappointed in their list, but at least they have a list.
  13. This is very confusing to me, so please excuse me if I don't phrase my question accurately. I have lost a recognizable cognitive ability, most likely to malabsorption over the years. When I get accidentally glutened, I suffer more from neuro isses, such as strange gate, a deliberate concern in walking, fatigue, the shakes and speech problems including...
  14. Thanks Jo.R for your reply. It's always nice to get an acknowledgement when you're posting something that will be helpful to some. It does not always happen. I think sometimes we need to brush up on our etiquette.
  15. APPLAUSE...coming from my house!

  18. Smilie: Tell us about yourself and how did you finds all of us here? What is you survey about? What class are you taking? What is you subject for you class project?
  19. Thanks for posting that. What is the date of issue for this article. I gotta buy it!

    ARCHIVED Italy

Hey Lexis: Europe is far more advanced than in the States regarding Celiac. Your dining options will be more available to you. If I recall, there are several people from Italy and many frequent travelers. I am sure that they will post soon.
  21. McCormick will list if wheat is included. I always feel comfortable with McCormicks when I read the ingrediences. You should be good to go.
  22. Compliment gratefully accepted. But what is Solgar 5-htp? Perhaps others will know.
  23. I would like to sneak in here an add something. We have had several doctors (who were celiac) post here and offered a great deal of medical support and guidance. They have spent hours here posting with no compensation other than supporting fellow celiacs with their knowledge. Although, many of us have had very bad experiences with many doctors...
  24. Lorna: Welcome to the Board. It is my understanding that once diagnosed with Celiac, you have it for life. It does not go away. You may have experienced some sort of odd remission, although, I have never heard of it. Hair loss is definitely on symptom of celiac disease as well as thyroid disease, which also can be associated with celiac. I feel...
  25. Hey, you can send him a bill for 50% of the cost. Don't let him get off that easy
