ARCHIVED Outer Banks Gluten Free
Lisa replied to blueeyedmanda's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
Good Choice. I live about a hour away and we go the the Banks quite a bit. I don't know of any restaurants with a gluten free menu other than OutBack in Nags Head. There is a place that serves gluten free ribs in Kitty Hawk, the owners has a celiac child....darn, I can't remember the name of it. Here are a few celiac friendly places: Basnight... -
Thank you for the replies. This thing is directly below my last rib on my right side. I feel no pain although I can feel it and during the coarse of the day it feels more pronounced and uncomfortable. It feels almost as if there is an air pocket. I take Omeprazole daily. Perhaps this is a hernia aside from the large hiatal as indicated by the endoscopy...

Whew, it is getting worse. Every evening is beginning to be more uncomfortable as the days go on. I can certainly feel the hernia and if I sit sideways or not straight up it will bulge. Sorry, if this is too much. I believe it is below my rib cage on the right side and a defined protrusion and between the size of a large golf ball but smaller...

Jerry: Ya sure you ain't a Southern Boy. We sure have alot of greased pigs down here. We catch'em and cook'em. When I left the city and moved here where my husband grew up, we were invited to a Pig Pick'in. I asked what was that, and said "I don't think sooo"!! Ever been to a Turkey Shoot? I thought they shot turkeys. Never-the-less, the learning...

ARCHIVED Bourban Whiskey
Lisa replied to BamBam's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for posting regarding the distillation process. Very interesting. In my case, I have enjoyed Seagrams 7 and Makers for years and have never reacted (only a rare over endulgence) to either. History indicates that I can ejoy it successfully. And, I don't intend to mess with a good thing. -

My bottom line is, if it bothers me, I don't eat or drink whatever it is. I need no other information other than that. -

ARCHIVED This Is So Frustrating
Lisa replied to wowzer's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I am no doctor here, but have you had you blood pressure tested lately? High blood pressure can be the cause of itchiness in the limbs. I am not familiar with your med and not comfortable to comment. If you have a rash, that is another issue. DH can be a significant side effect of celiac. If so, you need to revisit you diet and make sure that you... -

You all have been very generous with your time, support and information. I do hope that rickops returns to recieve all this great information. My heart went out to him and his wife on their quest to find what is wrong with their daughter. Another testimony here for the good people on this site. -

ARCHIVED When Girls Don't Put Out!

Yeah, this is not a place for this. There are many teens that frequent this board and others younger. As Ashley said, ehh. Although, not a prude and I enjoyed the humor, I feel this is a misplaced post. -

Lisa posted a topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
My memory has left me, but I I seem to recall that one of our members lives in Oswego, New York and they already have 100 inches of snow and more is predicted. Could it be Christian? Adrian? Please help me remember. -

ARCHIVED Eyes
Lisa replied to holdthegluten's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I often feel eye pressure, but mine is to to climental change and not due to celiac. Where I live, we go to very humid to very dry weather in a matter of days. I do feel this in the pressure change, in my eyes and sinus. As always, I am not a doctor, but sometimes dizziness can be an inner ear issue. You may have a small infection that effect both... -
ARCHIVED When To Retest & Horseback Riding
Lisa replied to Cam's Mom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Barb: Mntdog here on this site would be a wonderful person to talk to. She also has a passion for riding and we have talked about this at great length. I have had horses for manyyears but that was before me being dx's with celiac. I would expect that there would be a high level for CC, with oats, barley, dander from the fields where they poop and... -
ARCHIVED Bacon/fake Nails/hair Color-glutened?
Lisa replied to PeaceAngel22's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have no experience with hair weaving and not sure whether that could cause a reaction. Perrhaps the shampoo or other product at the salon may have wheat products in them. The false nails possibly could because of the glue to attach them (although, again no experience) and it may be connected to putting your nails in your mouth. I think that the bacon... -
ARCHIVED Peripheral Neuropathy
Lisa replied to rickops's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Rickops: I sense your grave concern in your post. I have celiac, but my children do not. I have often posted that I have great admiration for parents will illl children. My heart goes out to you. With your family history, there is a strong probabily that there may be a celiac connection. I do not have much knowledge on the subject for you but others...
