  1. While I don't agree with everything in the above post, YES gluten from shampoo can get into your mouth while in the shower. It's easy to remove that aspect, so it's no longer a possibility when you get ill from other sources.
  2. You do realize Patti, that's SERIOUS cross contamination. The ick factor will transfer to your gravy!
  3. Me three, four or more!
  4. LOL..I only recently realized that people actually use it!
  5. Hi DAVE! <wavy hand>
  6. Absolutely! If I recall (the percentage), you absorb 75% of your fluid intake in your small intestines. If your intestines are damaged due to Celiac, you're not getting adequate hydration. Listen to your body and drink as much as it asks for.
  7. Politics, sex and religion are difficult subjects to discuss without offending SOMEONE. hint, hint
  8. Yes! Welcome to the Club! A positive blood test in conjunction with your symptoms, that is a diagnosis. Your endo exam may have missed effected areas or it could have been caught before detectable damage could occur. Positive dietary results can also be diagnostic. You can begin the diet immediately. Keep it simple with meats, fish, rice, potatoes...
  9. Just the liver, in this house. The heart and stomach are kinda icky.
  10. Roasted Oysters and Blazing Saddle Stew
  11. Not too sure about that. I would not use the Lubriderm with Oats, but the other products are gluten free. Open Original Shared Link
  12. Hey Babe! Mushroom has offered such great advise and you have found a great community to throw their great big arms around you. This is not an ending...it's a beginning! It's UP from here! Hugs to you!
  13. I'm 57 and take a daily prenatal vitamin...Healthy Accents (Generic Food Lion).
  14. My favorite breakfast is Van's toasted waffles, with a quick peanut butter spread and jelly or honey. Throw a half banana, or a strip or two of bacon, and you can eat it on the run as a sandwich......and yummy. Sounds like you are good Booghead! And lucky to have such gluten free options available.
  15. Love this topic! My paternal grandparents arrived in American, through Ellis Island, sometime around the turn of the century from Vienna, Austria. So, yeah, I have that eastern Europe connection. My mothers side is English and I have been always told we are decedents of Henry Hudson. But, I believe that to be one of my father's tall tales, rather...

  17. YES Oatmeal, but I found no information regarding allergens in reference to oatmeal. Only that they tests LARGE Rice cakes, which they claim/declare gluten free as under the 20ppm proposed level. Guess, it really wasn't that good anyway. Thank you Karen Maybe a psilly whim............
  18. Open Original Shared Link Quaker cares about the health and safety of its consumers and is dedicated to providing great-tasting snack options with the most accurate product information as possible. The rice cake recipe hasn’t changed, but all of the gluten-free large Rice Cakes were tested to make sure they meet the proposed federal standard for gluten-f...
  19. I remember, in years past, much discussion about Quaker Rice Cakes and some people got sick and others had not issues. I'll see if I can get an update and post. Thanks Karen
  20. For the "general" Celiac Community, what are your thoughts. I have refrained until now. It was quite yummy on this cold morning. There were no gluten containing ingredients in the Walnut, Dates, Raisin.
  21. Veal Marsala for me too! And lunch tomorrow. Happy Birthday to DH!
  22. Yes, probiotics. I would recommend dairy free probiotics.
  23. Four days, most likely not. You can also have your doctor biopsy his eczema as a possible Dermatitis Hepitaformis diagnosis, which is closely associated with Celiac Disease. Best of luck to you for quick answers.
  24. Please contact your primary doctor and request-demand a FULL Celiac Panel. Going gluten free could jeopardize the findings. If that is not possible, continue with a strict gluten free diet. After being sick for so long he must be suffering from non-absorption of essential elements, which would contribute to his fatigue. Have your doctor run a full...
