  1. Thank's for your posts on this. I haven't changed anything so I guess I will just have to wait and see, let me know what your doc says. If they didn't hurt so much I suppose I would just enjoy the new and fuller me
  2. The thing is you can have celiac and have a negative biopsy because the damage has not been extensive, at least I have read many people write that. Did you have the blood test for celiac? If you feel better gluten free don't worry about having an acutal diagnosis, just do it. It took me about 3 years to really feel better after diagnosis and going gluten...
  3. Welcome to the boards. I think you have one of 2 options, go gluten free right now. The other one would be to have the whole family's blood tested for celiac. The thing is that when I was first diagnosed my folic acid was low just as you said yours was. I don't much believe a person needs to have the biopsy if the blood test comes out positive. If I...
  4. My, it was good to come home after a long day at work and laugh at the responses. I have also gone up a size, so I really don't know. The only other thing is that leaving a bra off seems to make it worse and it only really feels better when I lay down. I don't know what is up, just one more thing to drive me a little nuttier! The only thing I can think...
  5. Leah: I am so glad you asked this. I have been having this problem for about six months, I mean it is really bad. There are times it feels like behind the nipple area is on fire and to go without a bra is awful. I am not pregnant and don't have those "parts", I have been to the doctor and had both a mammogram and sonogram and everything appears fine....
  6. It might of just been an error on your menu, I would just ask. I have had the dessert several times with no reaction. The only problem I ever has was one time the server brought out my salad and I saw crumbs of croutons on the top, so I think she just realized they were on there and grabbed them off. But I have had both desserts and I agree it's an out...
  7. Do you think you would take it either everyday or before meals or only if you knew you were going out to eat?
  8. I would ask that the doctor run a simple celiac panel blood test. I was diagnosed 3 years ago after several years of being really sick. My mom got tested last year because she was very ill, this after the doctor told me he didntr much believe in celiac but I said pretty please test her. Then my brother decided to get tested even though he wasn't having...
  9. I guess I have read it wrong. What I took away from it is that it will break down the gluten in food making it so that people with celiac can eat gluted. I never did well in the sciences I hope it does work, guess I am just scared
  10. Taz: How are you feeling? Did you go back to the doctor?
  11. Tia: The fever would lead me to believe that it might be a touch of the flu. As far as finally feeling better after going gluten-free it has taken me about 3 years. At least I have never heard of a fever/celiac connection but as we all know it can manifiest in many different ways. Has he been diagnosed with celiac? If he has it's not a question of knowing...
  12. Sounds like a sales pitch to me!
  13. I have read about that Steve but I think I would still be afraid to eat anything with gluten. It just seems to me that either the medication would cause a problem or the intestinal damage would still occur. It just might be that I was sick for so many years before being diagnosed I am just too afraid to try anything like that. I think I will take a wait...
  14. Judy: Just my thoughts here: I wouldn't wait on getting that lump in your brain biopised. I had a growth on my brain and they said if I didn't have it taken out I would of ended up blind and would of lost my balance. It ended up being a benign growth, but I am glad I had it taken out. Anyway, likewise the MRI showed plaque on the other side of my brain...
  15. Armetta Your post mede me feel a bit sad. I sometimes wonder why doctors doctor's won't listen to us when we say something is wrong and they come back with depression or such. I am so sorry all of your other problems didn't go away going gluten free. It is kind of you to put the diagnosis you do have and hopefully it will make even one person take...
  16. Mary Lynne: I think you have to stop and think that you are 27, and at that age many of us thought nothing bad would ever happen to us. I have to agree with Rachel in that it is a gift to know that you can stop many years of possible misery by going gluten free now. I would just hate for you to wake up in 20 years and find yourself sorry that you didn...
  17. I agree with Mark Linda. The blood test is going to show negative if you have been off gluten for even a short time before the blood work is done. If you feel better going gluten free then that's the way to go. Many people on the board also talk about a lab they use, I think entrolab or something, you might want to use them. The correct name should be...
  18. That would be great Lyme too. There are a lot of people that feel so much better after starting the gluten-free diet that regardless if they have a diagnosis or not they stay gluten-free. You might want to consider that, sometimes just feeling better is enough. The food is not that bad and the diet is not to hard to handle once you get a hold of it and...
  19. Welcome Lyme. Give us a chance to answer, many of us work. If you have a steady intake of gluten for even a couple of weeks prior to the test your blood test should be positive for celiac. I believe from my experience the biopsy might not be positive without a more intensive intake of gluten.
  20. Jenny: Are you sure it's not something you ate? I just realized today I had eaten a UNO candy bar and it has wheat flour in it. So that's why I am sick today.
  21. I have had them but came to the conclusion that it had something to do with a vitamin deficiency. I would take my vitamins and then it would clear up.
  22. Hi Kaiti: Who's the guy?
  23. How are you feeling now? It usually hits me within a couple of hours and lasts a couple of days. It is just a learning experience. I found myself eating a UNO candy bar yesterday and felt ill, looked at the package and on it is wheat flour. So here I am home sick missing work One would think after all of this time I would know better, but it just...
  24. How are you feeling Jenny? It almost sounds like the flu. Give it a couple of days and if you don't feel better go see the doctor. It could be the flu. Any other symptoms?
