  1. It's better to be glutened than to have an unwanted pregnancy/child.
  2. It took me awhile to figure it out, but I am intolerant to tapioca. I thought it was dairy for the longest time, but eventually ruled out dairy as a problem. You may have to do some trials with arrowroot to see if it is bothering you.
  3. I love it. I planted my first herbs and tomatoes in pots this year. I only have a balcony, not a yard. But in the future I will own a house not a condo. I love the idea of growing my own food, albeit currently just a little. Your garden looks great.
  4. Yes, this is the best gluten-free bread I have ever made, bought or tasted.
  5. It's the only gluten-free beer in Canada and I'm a big fan. Even though I have to pay $17 for a six pack.
  6. Thanks everyone. I bought the gluten-free and tapioca-free plain yogurt for my smoothies this week. I'll read the ingredients more carefully until tapioca becomes second nature to avoid just like gluten.
  7. I couldn't figure out why I was having explosive D all weekend and this morning. I just drank a yummy homemade smoothy tonight and after I finished it, I read the ingredients. I normally buy plain yogurt, but for some reason I bought blueberry and of course the third ingredient is tapioca starch. How dumb of me. I guess tomorrow morning will not be a...
  8. Me too. I have Immodium everywhere. I have also taken it as a pre-emptive. Going gluten-free has greatly reduced my Immodium consumption, thankfully.
  9. That's new! Canada needs more mainstream items like that.
  10. I thank you. I think your bread has helped many of us. I love my daily slice of toast. It is a gluten-free bread that actually sticks with you for awhile. I can't wait to buy your cookbbook.
  11. Every night with supper and it just becomes routine.
  12. I had bad luck with Uniden, but I know others have not. I love my Panasonic.
  13. In addition to gluten, tapioca and beef give me diarrhea.
  14. I worked in mixed wild wheat fields last summer. I didn't have any troubles. I know the fields aren't the same as what you are describing. I would just try not to run during harvest time. I love the outdoors, so it would take a lot to keep me away from what I love.
  15. I drink only the clear Powerade. The one with out any food colouring. I haven't had any problems from it.
  16. My former life. Not realizing that normal people didn't get drunk/out of their mind off three beers nor did normal poeple get 48 hour hangovers/severe gi sympotoms from three beers. Aaah, then came life after going gluten-free, where a couple/few gluten-free beers or other gluten-free drinks don't cause severe debilitating hangovers. LOL
  17. Okay, I've really got to get into the digital age. I love taking photos, but my Canon is an SLR film camera. You guys are having too much fun.
  18. I'm about the same age as you and I have been sick for the same length of time. If you need a diagnosis, then keep eating gluten until you get the blood tests and biopsy done. My blood tests came back negative, so I never had a biopsy. I went gluten-free because I was sick of being sick. One month after being gluten-free, I had great improvements in my...
  19. Alba Botanica products are great. I just bought a new product called Live Clean. However, I'm in Canada and I don't know if it's available outside of Canada.
  20. I chose mine, not knowing that it was a cat food brand at the time, because I love cats. But, actually I love all animals, especially four-legged ones. Also, for several courses I had to learn plants and animals by their full scientific names, which is the reason for felidae instead of something more common. They were my favourite courses.
  21. I don't have a recipe either. I kind of do the same as the above poster. I cook the quinoa in broth instead of water for better flavour. Also, cooking it with veggies and spices makes it taste great too.
  22. Wine is no probelm for me.
  23. This may not help you, but anyways.... I thought I was having a problem with yogurt. Like you, I also eat cheese like crazy, cream in my coffee/tea, and so on. I figured out that tapioca was my problem. Floating, gassy stools, borderline diarrhea, sometimes. Just thought I'd add my two cents. LOL
  24. Yes, your gp can run the blood tests. Since your grandmother had sprue, I think you should get tested. Undiagnosed celiac may cause other effects such as anemia and osteoperosis.
