  1. I'm not sure why everyone thinks I'm mad at the company. I put this post up as a warning so others don't miss the fine print on the bag.
  2. WARNING. Archer Farms gluten free Fusili (target brand) says on the back of the bag: processed in a facility that uses wheat. I got pretty sick. My own fault for not reading more carefully. Please learn from my mistake -don't get sick too! Am in the process of writing to Archer Farms b/c I am PISSED. Can anyone recommend another italian gluten...
  3. I got glutened yesterday and I'm still trying to figure out what it was that got to me. It's my understanding that everyone reacts differently. For me it's intense stomach cramping and pain along with joint pain. Sometimes I get a bit of a brain fog. You could have a bunch of symptoms, or none at all depending on how much your stomach has healed...
  4. Have any of you traveled to Mystic? I'm looking for rec's on restaurants. I know there are a decent # of places on findmeglutenfree.com, but I wanted to ask the question here also. I'll be bringing my cooler with me, with my cold cuts, cheese, fruit, and other things, but I'd like to be able to dine out each night. Any advice/help is greatly appreciated...
  5. Hi, I'm heading to Mystic next week - can you tell me where you got glutened?? Thanks!
  6. Thanks kareng! Much appreciated!!
  7. Thanks for your reply. I wonder if the olives just put me over the top. I've never been super sensitive, and have had all of the other things with no issues. I'm just frustrated, but thanks for your response.
  8. With regard to the vitamins, I was taking the vita craves until my diagnosis. Trader Joe's and Costco both sell gummie vitamins that are gluten free.
  9. For the first time since my diagnosis I got glutened. Trouble is that I can't seem to figure out what got me. I'm hoping you all can help me. Yesterday I had a Think Thin bar for breakfast (I've been having those for months with no issues.) For lunch I had a fruit salad made by me - canteloupe and honeydew melon. I snacked on some Glutino Gluten...
  10. Thank you. I will mention the corn tortillas and the homemade lunchables idea. I will go take a look for the lunch thread. Much appreciated!
  11. I was also thrilled to learn that all wines made in the states are gluten free. That made me VERY happy Give the cider a shot. There are a few different flavors. I tried the amber one so far and I really like it. Here's their site: Open Original Shared Link Good luck!
  12. Hello All, My neice was recently diagnosed with Celiac (I have it too) and she's having the most trouble with lunches. She's at camp right now, and thankfully they offer some gluten free options, but when she returns to school in September that's where we're going to have a problem. She's going into 9th grade and is SUCH a picky eater. She hasn't found a...
  13. I see that they're sold in three stores near me - I will hunt for them tomorrow!
  14. I recently tried Woodchuck hard cider - I have to say - delicious. I was really pleased with it and had zero reaction to it. Sorry your stomach started gurgling
  15. Facing it was toughest. It's a major life change and for me (and probably for many of you too) it was extremely daunting. Then came cleaning out the pantry. It was a sort of funeral for the things I loved and couldn't have anymore. I thought summer bbq's would be difficult, but now I just ask my host to please cook my food on a piece of tin foil on...
  16. I got diagnosed in the beginning of April and I am now down 30 lbs. (was over 300, now below 300) I think going gluten-free is helping my thyroid (I also have hypo-thyroid disease) and I really think I'm metabolizing better, and also of course I'm eating healthier as well.
  17. You've already been given great advice, follow it Hugs and good luck. It's not easy. We've all been there. Made mistakes ourselves, been cross contaminated elsewhere, etc. Hang in. It WILL get better!!!
  18. I have to use gummie vitamins as well - the others make me sick. I use Trader Joe's and Costco Kirkland Brand Gummies. Both are gluten free and I've never had a problem with them.
  19. Red Apple also has some new colors coming out soon, I'm looking forward to that too!
  20. Nikki, I wrote to Jay Harper asking if he would sell some sample sets, here's his reply: " "Hey no problem! We regularly have sample kits online for sale.. Putting together some more as I type :)"
  21. I bought them in my local Stop & Shop (I'm on the east coast) and I do like them. So far so good. MUCH better than their white bread. When I want white bread I but the Udi's (not the frozen one.)
  22. Lisa, did you propose a name for the new color? I love that they're such an interactive company. They really want the Celiac community to be satisfied with their products.
  23. I just emailed them to ask if they would consider selling a sample pack so people could try them without spending $17.50. Jay Harper (owner) is VERY responsive, so I will let you know when I hear something. In the meantime, did you try to look at the colors you currently like to wear, find pics of them online and compare that online photo with Red Apple...
