  1. I went thru the same thing. It usually happened when I went out. Not necessarily to eat but even going shopping. Come to find out it was corn that was bothering me. I would go shopping and decide to buy myself a soda. 15 mins later i'd be in the bathroom. So yea corn is my demise. Then finding out soy was bothering me. As of right now I eat only one grain...
  2. My Dr. Put me on a Prenatal vitamin. 1 mil. of folic acid a day. I can tell if I don't take one for a couple of days. He said hed put me on the prenatal so I get more than just the Folic Acid.
  3. Even in this forum some people have a hard time with gluten-free oats. Have you had your vitamin levels checked? Just curious I was suffering from, no energy, hair loss, mouth sores, Nails coming loose, and low and behold it was Folate , Folic Acid. It's a B vitamin. Just saying you might want to get your vitamin levels checked.
  4. Well I think the law is 20PPM for labeling gluten-free, sometimes that is to much for certain people. Alot of people can eat gluten-free oats for example. Others cannot. I do not eat gluten-free boxed stuff, but once every so often. Like crackers or such. I eat whole foods. Eat freash meat and veggies. I do eat gluten-free rice. It's the only rice I eat...
  5. I know what your saying, I was sick for a while before I had to fib to my Dr. To get him to do a Celiac panel. I was missed Dx'd with a rash they called Lichen Planus , it turned out after a couple years it was lack of Folic Acid. I say stick to who you trust. If you trust this person stick with them. I now trust my Dr. He knows now, when I go in with a problem...
  6. notme, and Bartful, I make my own tea all the time!! My latest thing is making flavored water with either lemon and lime or cucumber. Cut it up, put it in water and let it set a day or two. Wow!! Very good!! Bartfull, I hope I can get corn back!! Sooner or later.. It makes eating a lil simpler!!
  7. Because I have a corn intolerance I have a problem with bacon. Not sure it is corn or nitrates or what. I have only found one kind of bacon I can eat and it's up north. I eat alot of greens! Love to put them in eggs. I don't know why I am low on FA. Maby a part of my Villi not healed??I read that alot of the grains have Folate. I am going to Macinaw Island...
  8. I have lost almost 40 lbs since I have been gluten-free ... I was about 50 lbs over weight. I need 10 more lbs gone! Funny thing my daughters mom in law was DX'd a few months before I was, she was a skinny mini. She has gained the weight I have lost it. The only thing I can think of is I cannot eat corn products , I have not fallen into that gluten-free isle...
  9. Well its been two years since I was DX'd its going pretty good. I was still having problems with energy levels. I finally went to the Dr. and said you have got to do something about this, he did blood work, found out it was folic acid I was lacking. So I did a search and found I can be low on other stuff also. So tomorrow I have an appointment with my Dr...
  10. I found this master list... Open Original Shared Link
  11. So I had to put my 11 yo Shih Tzu down not long after new years. At first I didn't want another dog because my heart was so broken. You take your dog to the vet to get a pill for issues and find out he is so sick he has to be put down. It is shocking and breaks your heart and all kinds of guilt. You think I am never getting another dog! Then the opportunity...
  12. My face used to turn Bright red when I ate, no longer does. I had a Gluten free beer one day and Bam my face turned bright red. You may have other intolerances , I found I had Soy, corn, and also lactose intolerant, I can have some lactose now. and a tinge of corn now. But not much! That causes bathroom issues. Hope you find the answer to your problems.
  13. I have a hard time with the whole new set up! Yesterday I finally got to get into my content. I hadn't been able to get into that for a few days.

  20. I was on FB and you know the adds they have on there? Well one was an add saying they have figured out how to take the Gluten out of Oats and came up with gluten-free Cheerios they will be coming out soon. Anyone eles see that? I will see if I can find it on line and post a link.
  21. I agree , with all that said! Eat a slice of pizza for me please!! Some Celiacs have no symptoms. So don't dismiss , just having brain fog. I think if one does not get tested they are always tempted at one point or another. My daughter being one! But if your tested and know for sure, You don't have as hard a time saying no to a piece of pizza.
  22. It can also be from a lack of a vitamin or a mineral, If you have had Celiac and not treated. Maybe get a get a vitamin level checked??
  23. Right!! I have been on here long enuf to see how extreme people can be. This was the Grama of the child, Maybe the mom said no lotions or anything and she flipped out. Yea I know that there is no way one can be 100% Gluten free unless they lived in a bubble and cooked and grew all their own stuff in a bubble! Lol But thats the 1st time I came across a live...
  24. Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, A mod can move it if it is. I was at the small grocery store in town yesterday, when I was checking out the check out girl was looking at all my gluten-free stuff, She said do you have to eat gluten-free?? I said yes I do. I was buying stuff for my Grand Kids that are spending the night. Cookies and stuff, She said They...
