  1. Wow! I'm just not willing to share personal information that easily. I don't think I want anyone looking at my med reports that I don't know.
  2. Karen, where in Colorado are you? I'm in or around Denver once a year, and sometimes around Beaver Creek. I'd love to know where you are eating.
  3. If you can't find the baguettes, you can order them from Amazon. I like the baguettes, but the the bread not so much!!! As in, it's AWFUL imho.
  4. I haven't felt great after almost a year of diagnosis. I got tired of hearing from my old g.i. that gluten is somehow sneaking into my diet. Went to a new g.i. who ordered blood work, stool test, and hydrogen blood test. I kept telling him that I swear sugar has to be a problem. First, blood tests showed that my antibodies were nearly undetectable, so...
  5. I have an app on my phone called Shop Well. You set up a profile and scan the bar codes. Very easy to use! It's only been wrong once that I know of.
  6. Those of you who have had success, will you share recipes? I'd certainly buy a pasta attachment if I knew I could make good pasta. I guess should practice a bit first, huh? I've never made pasta before!
  7. Well...I avoid sugar, but not by choice! I was not recovering from celiac when I was diagnosed. I asked on this forum several times if this was normal, and I received lots of good advice. I saw a new gi recently who listened when I described my continuing problems, and he decided I needed testing for SIBO. I was positive, so I was treated with antibiotics...
  8. Yes, it is the same in many other states. I am a teacher, also. At the beginning of the school year, we are given a confidential health list, and it is up to us to make sure we know how to handle each child's health related need. I have had several students with peanut and egg allergies, and one that had celiac a few years ago. That was the first time...

    ARCHIVED Branson, Mo

The taffy is gluten free, also! Walk through Delilah's Bakery and take in the wonderful smells (even though you can't eat anything). Then, because you are in mourning about the bakey, walk to the Taffy Store and drown your sorrows in several pounds of delicious taffy. And, bring home several more pounds because it's just that good! There is one skillet...

    ARCHIVED Branson, Mo

I am in Branson several times a year, so I think I can help you. Dannas BBQ is my very favorite place to eat. Most everything they have is gluten free minus fries, buns, and one or two sauces. If you tell them you have celiac, they will change gloves and take precautions with your order. Their burger buns are the best I've ever had - soft and don't fall...
  11. I eat the Kellogs gluten-free rice krispies quite often without any problems. Haven't had the Ener-G bread.
  12. My hands are swollen and hurt, also! I realize this is an older thread, but I have the same question as the original poster. So, this is a celiac symptom? This has only been a problem with me for the last few months. I was diagnosed last Aug. and it has not been an awful year, but after two rounds of meds for SIBO, I have to say that things are turning...
  13. That sounds really good! What brand of salami do you eat? I'd like to get some for summer picnics on the boat. The brands that I've looked at in the store, so far, are gluten free. AND, is all kettle corn gluten-free? The stuff you buy at fairs and festivals? Can it be trusted? I love kettle corn!!
  14. The meal with the tangerine candy is my favorite one. I've eaten many of them without a problem. Hmm....I never thought to read the small package label....
  15. I got a box of the roasted almond nut crunch in a "gluten free box of the month" club from TasteGuru. Yes, I ate them without a problem. The box states gluten free, and I didn't see anything scary listed in the ingredients. I just ordered more boxes from Amazon, so I sure hope they are okay. Yikes! I didn't look for an official gluten-free insignia, but...
  16. Am I understanding this correctly? Nature Valley gluten free granola bars are not gluten free?
  17. I'm in the same boat you are - trying desperately to gain weight. My target acc. to dietician is to aim for 3,000 cal per day. I can't get anywhere close to that. I just finished round two of meds for SIBO. I have a few more weeks of the Fodmap diet, and hopefully I can begin to eat more carbs. In the meantime, I eat bacon every day (when I get to target...
  18. I wrote that I needed a gluten free meal on the rsvp card. I wasn't expecting much, but the groom talked with my husband, and he explained the importance of gluten free. When I got to the reception, I wasn't planning to eat, buy I was served a gluten free meal, and one of the servers double checked that everything was okay for me. This response was probably...
  19. Maybe it's time to call the doctor or visit the ER. That sounds extreme to me.
  20. I drink most of their drinks without a problem. A few of the teas contain gluten, so if that is what you drink, google Starbucks - they are listed on the website.
  21. I use a pea protein powder. It's lactose and casein free. I couldn't find anything either, and this one was suggested by my dietician. You can find pea protein at food specialty shops and amazon.
  22. Nutella is not dairy free. Perhaps that is the problem.
