Given all that info on your poor kitty, I agree that it is best to just stay with what is working. Â Funny, my cat also gets excited, eats without breathing, and then throws up whole kibble, so we have to feed her four times a day, lol. Â She doesn't even chew.
-
My cat eats a special medicated food that unfortunately has gluten in it. I was my hands a lot - after feeding and before cooking anything. Wish she could go gluten-free.
Â
I laughed reading the earlier comments because I hold my breath when I feed her, lol.Â
Â
There are a few manufacturers of RX pet foods. Â A lot of the ones that are commonly needed are made my more than one brand... my vets office sells the royal canin and the hills ones. Â So may be worth looking into especially if it is giving you grief. Â Still not a ton of options, though. Â My cat is on the Royal Canin Urinary diet regular calorie. Â They would prefer her to be on the moderate calorie one, but I told them no because wheat gluten is like the third ingredient, and I will just be strict about measuring out her portions. Â Her weight has been steadily good lately, she used to be quite obese. Â A few years back we trialed her on the Hills urinary one and she hated it, which was odd because she really loves food in general. Â Also a lot of the canned RX foods are gluten-free, but I would rather wash my hands all the time than pay 3 dollars per tiny can!

Pancakes > Waffles
Â
But my husband disagrees with that. Â You know, I don't own a waffle iron. Â Have thought about getting one. Â Maybe next Christmas I will drop a hint. Â That KAF recipe works fabulously with pancakes, and I like to add mashed banana and some cinnamon to it for banana pancakes. Â (You can do that with any pancake recipe really, just may need to adjust milk for batter thickness) Â They have a recipe on the box of their gluten-free all purpose baking mix as well.
Â
I think in general, waffles sometimes work better when you add more fat to the batter. Â But overall most pancake and waffle recipes can be interchanged.

A lot of us here do baking at home, so we are glad to give tips. Â But what type of pastry are you talking about.... like puff pastry? Â If you can find a picture or recipe of the regular kind to let us know what you are going for, there should be someone here who can give tips. Â (Also don't know what squidgy means... lol)
Â
Looks like being in the UK some availability may be different, but it looks like Schar does sell frozen puff pastry in europe. Â Open Original Shared Link
Â
Puff pastry is all about the technique, and with gluten-free flours I can totally see it going wrong. Â Looks like Bobs red mill has a good, well researched recipe:Â Open Original Shared Link
Â
Also, this recipe looks more realistic for a home cook, they have the recipe for the flour blend used so no specialty products to buy. Â Open Original Shared Link
Â
The recipes probably use more eggs than a traditional dough, and definitely do not skip the xanthan gum. Â Also, rolling anything out that is gluten-free is greatly aided by using parchment, like they do with the Bobs Red Mill Recipe.

Yeah definitely let them know about the family history, that will give them reason to do testing if they are on the fence about something.

Yes, Ketosis can definitely cause these kinds of odors. Â Also, sinus infections can cause bad breath. Â You can use a sinus rinse and sometimes that can help. Â With my immune deficiency I get a lot of stuff, I know when a sinus or lung infection is coming on because I can smell it right before symptoms come on. Â Sounds gross, but paying attention to that and calling for antibiotics has helped me nip things in the bud. Â But overall, it wouldn't hurt to mention to your doctor. Â Let the doctor rule out other infections like tonsil stones, etc.
Â
For mouthwash, I,too hate the burning sensation. Â There is a mouthwash called Closys, it has no alcohol, no flavor, and you only use a little bit. Â They have it at places like CVS and Walgreens. Â It comes with a dropper of mint oil if you like to flavor it. Â But I do it without because I don't like mint.

Nice to have a tasty quick breakfast, especially for kids!

Thank you.
Completly missed the seal on the box (jumbo box from Sams club). Don't know how I did, looked all over the thing several times. I was thinking, seal? There was no seal? Looked at the box again and it was right there in front of my face.
Â
I do that all the time, lol

We took a road trip to the black hills area with my dad shortly before he passed away. Â Other than our vehicle breaking down (great hospitality with local people with that) it was one of the best trips I have taken. Â So pretty! Â We saw the prarie dogs, and we witnessed big horn sheep mating which apparently is a rare sight, and good for the species. Â Want to go again!

What kind of hair does your daughter have, straight/curly etc? Â And were the suave and pantene ones too light? Â I would definitely recommend checking out a beauty supply store- usually they have decent prices and you can check it online, too. Â Here are a couple:

Also if you have Ulta where you live, they have a huge selection, too, but do carry some high end stuff that may not be in the kiddo price range.
Â
This stuff has been around for forever, I assume it works:

Just glancing through ingredients, lots of them do have wheat protein or wheat germ oil. Â Ick! Â Hope you find something

Oh, a meatball sub sounds delicious!!!!! Â I noticed that the farm rich meatballs which have never had gluten ingredients, are now labeled gluten free. Â They have regular, italian, and turkey. Â

This topic was split off into its own thread since it is it's own discussion that is spanning multiple threads. There were two different discussions going on here so one has been split off into its own thread https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/111042-duodenoscopes-for-ercp-cre-infections-in-the-news/

Wellbutrin has generics, and there are likely multiple manufacturers of these, in the various strengths and IR/SR/XL. Â If one has lactose, check out another one, it may not. Â

Welcome to the forum! Â If it comes back that is is DH, we are glad to help you transition to a gluten-free diet. Â Check out the newbie thread under our coping section, so you can arm yourself with some info before a transition is needed. Â Let us know!

Many people eat them with no problem. Â Some people are uncomfortable with the shared facility/equipment, but they test for contamination. Â There have been a few people who anecdotally do the "I ate this and got sick" thing, but of course that is not always reliable, I suspect it is because Amy's meals are vegetarian and heavy in beans, veggies, and tofu in a lot of them.ÂMy favorites are the gluten-free bean and cheese burritos, the gluten-free mac n cheese, and the mexican meals. Â Honestly I like them all and buy them all the time, especially the burritos. Â When I am feeling poorly with my health issues this is what I eat. Â A Celiac friend in real life turned me on to them, which surprised me because I would eat some of their stuff before I was diagnosed Celiac.Â

Especially with cats... if they get lost they are unlikely to have or keep on their collar, and will be gone forever if they go too far. Â I had a friend who lost his 1 year old cat, found it a few years later sitting in a window two blocks over... apparently he had been two timing the households getting fed, and the lady thought he was a stray and decided to keep him inside... LOL. Â That was before microchips came into play. Â Nowadays, there really is no reason to not microchip. Â I have found dogs running around and taken them to the nearest vet to be scanned, then taken them right home. Â It really helps. Â Just make sure you update the info you registered them with if you move, etc.

That author tends to report on all kinds of things, some of them with very little impact to actual Celiacs. Â
-
That is a good idea. Â I think I am going to go on a tour of drug stores and GNC to see what I can find.
-
Also, I want to add, I don't want to go over 100% daily value of folic acid, because I have to take a big dose once a week after my methrotrexate, and too much of that will give you sores on the hands and mouth. Â
-
So my latest blood results from my Lupus doctor showed I have slightly high calcium(10.6 with a normal range of 8.6-10.4 mg/dL)Â and he wants me to stop getting extra calcium. Â Given my Celiac disease, I want to keep supplementing with a well rounded multi-vitamin, preferably one that has iron given that I am a female. Â
I have been taking the store brand of the One A Day Womens, which contains 500mg of Calcium Carbonate, 50% of daily value. Â I have a lot of medical costs, so would highly prefer having it all in one pill as that will cost less than taking tons of vitamins separately. Â Just looking online, the closest, most complete one I can find is Open Original Shared Link, with only 100mg of Calcium Carbonate. Â Any recommendations? Â gluten-free, of course
-
Nice that you can view it online soon, I have a few doctors where I can do that and I really like it. Â Let us know!

This is actually a really good visual to post for people who deal with GI irregularity. Â They use a similar scale in medical settings. Â Funny story, when I was working in a hospital pharmacy, one of the drug reps had dropped off poo scale posters. Â Someone taped it to our main workflow bulletin board. Â On the last, most loose one, I wrote "too much taco bell" and then through the evening others wrote more on it. Â At midnight the head pharmacist at night came in and was very upset that we had done that... LOL. Â But everyone else was snickering for days.

Yummy, will have to keep an eye out for it!

That is a good argument for waffles. Â Now I really want to get a waffle iron! Â I will burn the pancakes while tending to the eggs, etc all the time.
