  1. I know--Celia, what's your secret? You look like you're about 30 Share....
  2. I use Zicam, also, at the first sign of a cold--it really helps! Luckily, I don't get colds very often, but when I do, I use Extra Strength Bufferin and for a cough/sore throat, honey and fresh lemon juice as needed. I just don't care for the multi-symptom type medicines, myself.
  3. Courtney, Yes, I get depressed, anxious, moody, even a little paranoid when glutened. I also feel "draggy"--like I'm not fully awake half the time! These symptoms, to me, are worse than the GI ones. Make sure you get enough to drink--plenty of pure water! Feel better soon
  4. I know that at the Sam's near me, the chickens have wheat--it's one of the first ingredients listed on the label.
  5. Hi--A lot depends on whether you are truly *allergic* to these foods, or intolerant. The first step is to see the allergist and have the allergy testing--that's what I did and I was not allergic to any of the foods he tested for. Your reactions sound like they could be from a true allergy, so I'm glad you're getting tested for those. If you are negative...
  6. Spooky, as usual! There sure is a difference I live South now, but for a year lived North (Warren County ) I do love it here--we've lived in different states, and even in different parts of NJ--the afore mentioned North, and also Glouster Co and Marlton. We're in NW Burlington Co. now. How about you?
  7. Hi Spunky--what a wonderful story! I'm very glad you found us, and that we could be of so much help to you Your story also proves what we say often to people confused about whether to persue a formal diagnosis, for whatever reason. You don't need a doctor's permission or a prescription to go on the gluten-free diet--if you feel better this way, then...
  8. Agreed
  9. Ravenwood and Lkelly8--I've often wondered about your names--now I know! Mine is where I live (love Jersey!) and instead of using "girl"--as in jerseygirl--I used angel just cause I like them
  10. Hopefully, Scott is taking the time to consider all of the ramifications of this line of thought. I wanted to make him aware of everyone's thoughts, what he ultimately decides to do now is up to him.
  11. Hi everybody--I think these are really good ideas, too! I sent a PM to Scott asking him about this very thing. I'm not sure what is involved in making such changes--that's why I started with contacting him, pointing him to this discussion, and just attempting to make him aware of what a lot of us are thinking. I haven't heard back, hopefully that's good...

    ARCHIVED Dove?

Dove will clearly list gluten on the container. A lot of their hair products are gluten-free--I use their Anti-Frizz Creme. Just check the bottle.
  13. Yea--that's about all you can do at this point. Go with his appetite, make sure he gets his liquids and this thing should run it's course pretty soon.
  14. The oat flour is questionable at best--and because this is made by Quaker Oat Co, who admits cross contamination issues--I definately would not eat it.
  15. Sounds like a virus That's pretty typical--starting out with stomach upset, vomiting and D--then moving into more of a cold. Is he still feverish? The only thing that I'd worry about would be his ears--sometimes Matt (my younger son) would get symptoms like this, and it would turn out to be an ear infection. He was a kid who didn't get the terrible...
  16. Andrea Thanks for posting these. I plan to copy the almond milk and mock sour cream recipes!
  17. Carla-- Go ahead and start a hair thread! You know I'm always up for some hair talk Yea--Steve's haircut was a fun thread! Where else but here can you get hair tips from all over the world!!
  18. You had to know that the "A" word would appear sooner or later!
  19. Hi Courtney, You're not a moron--you're human like the rest of us. We've all made mistakes, and we learn from them! At least the worst of it waited until you got home... Hope it passes quickly!
  20. Hersheys is a company that will clearly list gluten on the label
  21. Read my post again, Victor....
  22. Great idea Carla! I literally stumbled onto the board last year while researching an ingredient. I couldn't BELIEVE that so many other people had the same issues as I did. I had no idea how to post or even send an email at that time Had to ask my son! All I knew was I had to be a part of this. Gosh, just about everything I know about living...
  23. What fun! Thanks
