  1. Maybe that's it!.... I never had a problem with legumes of any kind until I went gluten-free. Now all of them give me problems. Sugar alcohols, though, have always been a problem for me, and I completely avoid them.
  2. Oh, don't feel bad! It's ok, really I feel so much better, that it makes it pretty easy to stay away from the foods that I'm intolerant to. I just had to comment on the cottage cheese dipping--I was surprised to see that someone else did that
  3. One of my favorite snacks, pre dairy free, was potato chips or Fritos dipped in cottage cheese! I really miss cottage cheese.....
  4. Before this goes any further, I want to gently remind everyone that Scott has repeatedly said that this is not the board on which to discuss religion. Ursula and Steve, I respect both of you and hope that you understand.
  5. Jeanna-- That's the thing--from the perspective of a newly diagnosed person, who has just been told by their doctor to "begin the gluten-free diet and see me in 6 months"--being told that their "real" problem is Lyme (or anything else, for that matter) is confusing at best. I think this board has many, many people who are well-spoken, articulate, and...
  6. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
  7. Judy--you sound flustered I also read a long post by you that included quotes. I'm not sure what happened. When you're reading through a thread, and want to respond to several posts, hit "Quote" on the bottom right of that post (it will turn red) and continue on that way until you reach the end of the thread--then hit "Reply". All of the posts...
  8. Thank you for that, Valda GFP is right--Scott is the only one who can ban a member--as moderators, we do our best to let him know about anything we think is questionable--and then it's up to him to take any action he sees fit.
  9. I use Loreal Feria--verified by phone to "contain no gluten ingredients whatsoever".
  10. Lisa--It's so nice to get to see who I talk to from time to time!! You are beautiful I hope you're feeling better these days, too. Nancy--I'm glad you put your picture up, too! You're beautiful, also, and it's so nice to be able to put a "face" to you now.
  11. Thanks, Armetta Seems like I haven't talked to you in forever! How are things?
  12. Thanks, Nikki--you're so sweet! You have a lovely family--you're like me, surrounded by your 'guys'
  13. Oh Steve, that does sound wacky! This is why when I visited family in another state this summer, I brought all of my own food. It took some advance planning, but I got enough to eat and stayed well. If you can't bring your food because of having to fly, etc--I would go grocery shopping as soon as I hit town and make my own meals. Anyway...
  14. OK--it's back--by popular demand from you and Judy
  15. Lisa, I'm coming in a little late, but I'd really like to see you! Jen--love your new picture! Stephanie--Love your's too!
  16. Toni Here is the link to Vances-- Open Original Shared Link You can use the powder as is in coffee or tea, or make a creamer with water. It's good either way!
  17. I like Ener-g brand. They make potato starch flour, tapioca flour, and rice flour. The bean flour, I can't help you with--I don't use it (legume intolerant)
  18. Hi Brizzo, You need to go to "Edit Avatar Settings"--the 'personal photo' is disabled. If that dosen't help, let me know!
  19. I'll say a prayer for your son--sending good thoughts and a hug your way
  20. Was it the one about Rachel Ray? It's in the publication and publicity forum. I just pinned your prayer topic in the gab room.
  21. Hi--welcome to the board! I had both tests done on the same day last year. I was also very nervous and afraid of the tests themselves, and of the outcome--I have a family history of colon cancer, so that was on my mind. Turns out, there's really nothing to worry about regarding the tests--the prep for the colo is by far the worst part. I was...
  22. Nausea was my first symptom, I think. I used to get it all the time. Since I've been gluten-free, I still get it when glutened--it seems to come with the D.
  23. That much we can tell--even without a picture But still, get that picture up!!!!
  24. Go to "MY Controls" at the top of the page. On the left side, scroll down to "Personal Profile". Click on "Edit Profile Information". You will not find "Custom Member Title" (for words under your avatar) until you have reached 500 posts. Hope this helps
  25. Gluten Free Pantry Cake and Cookie Mix is very good I make pineapple upside-down cake with it that is delicious, so it sounds like it would be good for your strawberry cake!
