  1. Thanks! I will look for it
  2. This is not true. Butterball is a Con Agra company. I have verified by phone that they will clearly list any gluten in the ingredients. Their turkeys, for instance, did not contain gluten the last I checked. While some of their products may contain gluten, it's misleading to state that *all* of their products contain it. Always read...
  3. Ooh--Fiddle, does that cook book have other recipes for breads and other baked goods using no flours? If so, I'm going to get it ASAP
  4. Leah, I'm so sorry. This is such sad news. I will keep your friend in my prayers--and you, too
  5. With all due respect, I see nothing wrong with telling a person new to the gluten-free lifestyle the truth. It's what I wanted when I first found this board. GFP is someone who always takes the time and goes the extra mile for someone new. I think it was unnecessary to tell him or anyone not to give advice--we all have different styles of speaking, but...
  6. I always have the best luck with Gluten Free Pantry Pie Crust, and do what ever filling you like.
  7. Good that you located the spots. Just massage them gently, in a circular motion. The warm compress you can use anytine you feel they'll help--but not while you're massaging. I still get the pain--I mostly only get it on the left side of my jaw--it can give me ear pain, too. The thing that aggrevates it the worst is eating a lot of crunchy hard foods...
  8. Hi Lorka-- I checked the label, and the one I ate only had almonds, pecans and walnuts. I get the same thing when I eat dates or raisins plain. This stuff is gonna drive me crazy!! Thanks
  9. Hi Donna-- Sorry about the pain I have TMJ Disfunction, also. I use a night guard on my bottom teeth. Mine was made for me by my dentist. He took a mould of my teeth, and had it made from that. It's very comfortable, and fits perfectly. Our insurance covered 80% of the cost. I was diagnosed by an Ear, Nose and Throat Dr. who told...
  10. The best thing to do would be to send Scott (admin) a PM explaining what happened and requesting a user-name change, if possible.
  11. Yea--this is what I always do. Lots of it--not just one layer I don't think I could manage the squat thing--my legs are pretty short
  12. Hi Carrie! I didn't realize you were on today Sorry I jumped in about the stuffing, but it's the one I always recommend!
  13. Pilates is also very good.
  14. I used Carrie's (carriefaith) stuffing recipe. It was fantastic! She has it posted in the recipe section. If you have trouble finding it, let me know. OK, I found it for you-- Open Original Shared Link It's in post #3. Last year, I made it with Whole Foods Sandwich bread--this year, I'm making it with Gluten Free Pantry French Bread...
  15. Carla--What symptoms do you get from the molds? Recently, I've cut out juices and dried fruits--but because if GI issues. I tried a Lara Bar yesterday, and got sick almost immediately after--
  16. I like Imagine Brand Chicken Broth. Simmer in some carrot, celery with the leaves, onion, pepper and rice. Make a big pot, and you can heat up a bowl as you need it. Hope you feel better soon
  17. Have you looked into Raynauds Syndrome? We have a family friend (non Celiac) who has it. Some of your symptoms sound similar. Here's a link to read about it-- Open Original Shared Link
  18. Last Thanksgiving was my first, gluten-free. Everyone came to my house--I made the whole meal gluten-free, except for a basket of rolls. I made turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, green beans, homemade cranberry orange relish, and pumpkin pie. Nobody left hungry, and the leftovers were the best part!
  19. Hi Jennifer, and welcome You have been through so much--why put your self through any more pain and misery by listening to medical "professionals" who want you to become even sicker before they will deem you Celiac? You need no one's permission to go completely gluten free. My advice is to do just that. It's not an overnight fix, but you will...
  20. I've always run about 15-20 lbs over what I would like. Two years ago, when I got very sick, one of the things that particularly worried me was that I lost 15 pounds in a short time--while still eating normally. Normal for me then was a lot of carbs--especially baked things. When I went back to the doctor for my 2 month follow-up after the biopsy, I...
  21. Hi mcs12--welcome! I most definately get moody and cranky when glutened! I get so annoyed, I want to jump out of my skin. Not pleasant! I also get GI reactions (D, nausea, bloating, etc) about 2 hours after ingesting the culprit. I'm gluten-free now for 14 months--it dosen't happen as often as it used to--I don't eat many processed foods...
  22. I was diagnosed last year at the age of 49. I firmly believe that if I was diagnosed sooner--I've had symptoms for at least 20 years--I would be farther along in my healing, and I probably wouldn't be intolerant to so many other foods. I guess whoever said that people diagnosed over 30 take longer to heal was right.
  23. Happy to hear you're back home and did ok! Aren't you glad that you had it done? These are things that you wouldn't have known otherwise. If they don't call you by the day that they told you the biopsy results will be in, make sure to call them--my experience is that they're not so good about getting back to us! Get some rest
  24. Lister, I'm not surprised that you feel tired. You've been through a lot very recently--not the least of which the emotional upset you've had the past few days! The meds are beginning to ease some of the inflammation--as you feel more comfortable, I think you'll calm down and allow yourself to sleep. That's the best thing for you right now. Taking...
  25. Wonderful news
