ARCHIVED Relish That Does Not Have High Fruitose Corn Surup?
jerseyangel replied to ebrbetty's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
High fructose corn syrup kills me! I am intolerant to corn, so I guess that's why. I don't think that stuff is good for anyone, though... -
ARCHIVED Tested
jerseyangel replied to stbakjj's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi and welcome to the board! I agree with everything Carla said--why wait until there is visable damage? I would definately begin the gluten-free diet now. Plus, the endoscope/biopsy can always miss damage, especially in the early stages. -

ARCHIVED Hair Help!
jerseyangel replied to Turtle's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Julie (and everyone), Beware of the White Camilla Conditioner! I just looked it up, as I thought I might try it sometime, and noticed that the conditioner has wheat germ oil in it. The shampoo looks safe, though. Open Original Shared Link -
ARCHIVED Hair Help!
jerseyangel replied to Turtle's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Julie--I felt the same way you do about soy in the hair products. I can't tolerate it in my diet, and thought it was best to keep it out of my personal care products, too. It's just that there are so *few* gluten free, SLS free products out there! I reluctantly tried the Giovanni, knowing it had the soy. I do like the way it makes my hair look and feel... -

jerseyangel replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hi everyone--I'm back! I spent a few days up in Syracuse visiting family and celebrating my parent's 55th anniversary and my husband's birthday (both on July 7th). I've been reading through all of the threads I missed (10 pages ) and through this thread. Floridian--I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you... -
ARCHIVED Anyone Else Have Trouble With gluten-free Breads?
jerseyangel replied to ebrbetty's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I don't eat them any more, either because I am intolerant to all the grains that I've tried, and also to tapioca. Ursula--I don't get burning, but tapioca makes my mouth very dry as soon as I begin chewing it. It also causes me stomach upset. I tried The Gluten Free Pantry French Bread (mix) as it has few ingredients--no dairy, soy, or tapioca. I still... -
ARCHIVED Medicine For Your Period
jerseyangel replied to Mindy35's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have pain from a large fibroid that gets intense the first day or two of my period. I take Extra Strength Bufferin for it on those days--it works well. -
ARCHIVED My Husband Has Been Glutened.....
jerseyangel replied to swittenauer's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm so sorry he is sick--I get the "itchies" when glutened, too. I wish I could offer more than to wait it out, but there really isn't much more you can do. I try to drink more water and I find that potatoes and bananas help when nothing else wants to sit in my stomach. A little food makes me feel a little better. Hope it passes fast -

ARCHIVED Megan's Gagging Isn't Any Better
jerseyangel replied to TCA's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Rhonda--Thank you for all of that great information on sulfates. I suspect that I have a problem with them, and your post clarified a lot of things. Welcome to the board--I hope you will continue to post Tanya--I was out of town for a few days and just checked in. I continue to pray for Megan. I hope that now that she's in the hospital for observation... -
ARCHIVED Hair Help!
jerseyangel replied to Turtle's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi Turtle--From the list of products you need, it sounds like your hair is similar to mine. (Mine's naturally curly, tends to be dry, can be worn blown straight or worn curly.) I was using Shikai Shampoo and Conditioner. It was good, but I still wanted to find something more moisturizing. I've been using Giovanni Smooth as Silk Shampoo and Conditioner... -
ARCHIVED Rosacea--now I've Got It
jerseyangel replied to jenvan's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I hear ya on the statement I actually use my debit card for QVC shopping--that way, I don't charge my purchases--if I started doing that, without keeping track, I'd be in trouble I've been thinking about trying Well Rested, too. -
ARCHIVED Rosacea--now I've Got It
jerseyangel replied to jenvan's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Too late for me--I'm already a QVC junkie! It's my one vice Yup--that's where I need the bisque, also. Do you mean the Kabuki Brush? I still don't have that one, I use the retractable brush. Have to get the Kabuki, though... I do have an Ulta--over in Moorestown. I'll check out the summer set! -
ARCHIVED I Cant Stand Up
jerseyangel replied to Lister's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
After a year gluten-free, I still get that. A lot of times, I have no idea what causes it. I"m just feeling better today after stomach problems for the past week--I swear I wasn't glutened, but that's what it felt like. I'm going back to absolute basics, and see if I can figure it out. For some of us, it takes longer -
I second the home fries!!! I do mine with olive oil

ARCHIVED Rosacea--now I've Got It
jerseyangel replied to jenvan's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Lynne--I use Du Wop Lip Venom--it's safe and makes my lips look like I gave them a nice drink of water! Nothing radical, but nice. Tastes like cinnamon, and tingles a little. I got mine at QVC. Open Original Shared Link Love the Bisque--I apply it with the large foundation brush to the areas that are red, and follow up with foundation. Good... -
ARCHIVED Are These Symptoms Possibly From Gluten?
jerseyangel replied to Lymetoo's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I had tingling and numbness in my face, left arm and both legs before going gluten-free. It has gone away, except for the facial numbness, which gets worse when glutened. My left arm would feel strange--I still don't know how to explain it--heavy, numb, like it didn't belong to the rest of my body. It was scary at the time--I had no idea about Celiac or... -

Lister--If you want roasted almonds, Fisher is gluten-free. I called the company a while back, and was told that they don't use flours or glutens of any kind in their processing. For a raw almond (my preference), I like Diamond. (Different from Blue Diamond). When I can find them, nuts in the shell are best
