  1. Hi Lisa, I wanted to welcome you to the board, and I would agree with Ravenwood--it sounds like you are going through healing/withdrawl. It's not a fun thing to go through, but it will end (hopefully soon) and you will begin to heal and feel better.
  2. Hi Randy--welcome to the board! Good luck on the test results tomorrow. One thing that I think we all can agree on here is your point about diet having a lot to do with how a person feels! Very true! Let us know how you do tomorrow!
  3. Dan--Here is the link to Albertson's (it's different than Acme). On the bottom center, click on "Customer Satisfaction Guarantee" for their phone # and email address-- Open Original Shared Link
  4. I had the colo and endo the same day because my doctor wanted to rule out Chrohn's and also to take a tissue sample for microscopic colitis.
  5. Yes, I think Ursula has a point, and to go a step further, I think it's just the first thing that popped into her mind, given her attitude about eating out gluten-free. Believe me Tiffany, I am very sensitive, and would have also wondered what was up after I thought about it a while. I also want to note that my parents *always* go to the same restaurants...
  6. I hate to say this Rachel, but it took almost all summer for the birds to clear out completely--I don't remember exactly how long, but it went on a while. After they left, we used the power washer and cleaned everything thoroughly--it was pretty gross by that time! That was when we vowed not to let that happen again Sorry to hear about the baby bird...
  7. Celia--Thanks for that link! It was very interesting--great news about almonds and even potatoes!
  8. The Rapid Release is not gluten-free. I posted McNeil's gluten-free list a while ago--there are a few products that are not safe for us. Here is a thread all about Tylenol- Open Original Shared Link
  9. Judy--The Excedrin could be causing you to feel shaky and jittery especially if you drink regular coffee or tea--the caffeine adds up. Oh--Mark did get home for dinner, but since we celebrated Father's Day on Saturday, it was just a normal dinner
  10. Judy--The potatoes that you boiled with the eggs--did they have green on them?
  11. Judy--I don't take aspirin often, only if I really have a bad headache or have bad muscle aches, etc. Aspirin can cause stomach upset in some people (with all my stomach issues, I'm fine with it--go figure!) and regular usage can cause stomach bleeding or even an ulcer. It does work on pain, though--I recently pulled my shoulder doing yard work and the...
  12. For a fever, I use Tylenol Extra Strength Caplets. If there is pain involved, I use Bufferin Extra Strength. Hope you feel better soon!
  13. Utdan--Did you email them or did you ask someone at the store? I shop at Acme (an Albertson co) and I emailed them asking about a product. A few days later, someone called me and answered my question! The man who called was a Celiac himself. I have had to make another inquiry since then--by email--and the same man called me with the answer. I know this...
  14. (Hitting myself on the side of the head)--Of course--I didn't think of that
  15. My color is so much better now--I used to be very pale. When I was very sick, prior to diagnosis, my husband said I went from pale to transparent!
  16. Julie, You are right. I think it was Betty that had a terrible reaction to salt/baking soda.
  17. Rachel--the doctor will know exactly what kind of cyst you have from the ultrasound. Mine are 'functional' meaning they are normal and clear--nothing in them. What I am not clear on is if it's the same cyst, or a different one. The tech. that did the ultrasound said that if I had a cyst before, I wouldn't still have it. The nurse in the doctor's office...
  18. My computer has been down for a while--broken electric circut--but I saw this earlier. I kind of thought the same thing when I read about the white bread vs cabbage! I wonder if they will check for a Celiac connection.
  19. Another good one--The Gluten Free Pantry Cake and Cookie Mix--delicious with homemade chocolate frosting! I can post a recipe if you like
  20. Jeanne--That sounds great! You have a very sensible son there I can't wait to hear how everyone does on the gluten-free trial.
  21. Here's one in the middle--I use Skikai Shampoo and Conditioner
  22. I can't eat the K products (or any other processed gluten-free baked goods) because I'm sensitive to tapioca and legumes--they tend to use those flours a lot. Not to mention the rice
  23. Hi Everbetter--Here's a thread to get you started. I know there are several people on here from NYC who will know of even more places for you! Open Original Shared Link
  24. Oh Marcia--That does sound gross! Sorry you had such a dissapointing visit . On the bright side, the Whole Foods that is coming is a great store. I have been to 2 that are near me, and they are always well stocked, clean and have a nice selection. I have found the employees there also very nice and helpful. Hope they build yours fast

    ARCHIVED Eczema

I had eczema on my eyelid for many years. It was red, flaky and extremely itchy. Rx steriod cream and otc hydrocortisone only would work for a while--it would always come back. Going gluten-free also helped for a while, then it came back again. As I identified my additional intolerances, there was no change in the eczema until I cut out all legumes--that...
