  1. And, unfortunately, you are right.
  2. I'm another that thinks that when you omit the offending food, the burping / indigestion problems will stop. I went on Prevacid earlier this year for reflux, belching and upper stomach discomfort/gas. After 3 weeks, I stopped taking it because the side effects were worse than the reflux! I got back to trying to sort out my food intolerance and after completely...
  3. I find that I can pretty much eat all the veggies I want--as long as most of them are cooked (except salad, which I eat daily). Fruit, unfortunately, I have to limit
  4. Hi Judy --good to see you on! I sent an email to the View yesterday, as well as one to the doctor. I figure, every little thing counts
  5. Rachel--thanx for the date info. I never knew you could eat them fresh The only ones I have ever seen are the dried ones like Sunmaid. For the record, I can't eat dried fruit either. I thought they would be a good "sweet" treat, but I find they give me really bad gas and strange bowel movements. I finally realized dried fruit was the culprit when I...
  6. Thanks Floridian--that's what I thought. Cutting them out can be useful for people with joint problems. I do think the starch could cause a GI problem, though. Luckily, they don't affect me that way because they're the only starch I have left!
  7. That's what I was thinking--wheat does not occur in soy--sounds like a lot of double talk to me!
  8. Someone posted a similar response recently from Pacific (I think) foods regarding a soup. I personally would not eat anything with this on the label.
  9. YES! A crystal ball would be very nice, and save us all a lot of time
  10. How wonderful--I'm so happy for you
  11. I was just thinking, it could be the starch that is disagreeing with you. I can not tolerate rice, tapioca, or any other grain that I have tried. Tapioca is a starch, and gives me the same reaction as gluten--not good at all. So, possibly, if you react to potatoes, it's the starch. That would make sense, I think?
  12. This is serious! I eat potoatoes all the time--but since cutting out the intolerances, I feel good. Now I'm worried
  13. I was wondering, too! I have a coupon form the Sunday paper, and it looks good! Thank you
  14. Lauralee--For heaven's sake, of course you're welcome here! Feel free to ask anything. Actually, since you have a positive blood test, you have it as far as I'm concerned. There's a ton of info on foods, personal care products and tips on how to avoid CC at home and away. Welcome
  15. Hi Sarah--I eat the Lay's Natural Ruffles and the Natural Thick Cut/Sea Salt. I eat them frequently, and have never had a problem.
  16. All I know is that I eat potatoes just about every day--they are the one food that I know won't cause me problems. My comfort food. We're all different, though, so I would think any food could cause a person problems. The only other thing I believe that potatoes can cause (along with the other nightshades) is joint pain.
  17. Here's the link-- Open Original Shared Link
  18. Floridian--I'm glad that you went ahead and replaced all that stuff in your kitchen. I did this a few months into my diet, and definately noticed a difference. It's also so nice to not have to give any utensil or pan a second thought. People often ask about the kitchen stuff and the personal care products--I found that these two things were vitally important...
  19. Told you it was going to be ok! Really, I'm glad all went so well, and I also understand why you need to persue this.
  20. Vincent--that's great news! The little guy's made so much progress this past year--I'm so happy for all of you
  21. It does if you want a firm diagnosis. I'm sorry, though, that it will make for a possibly uncomfortable trip. The general rule of thumb is the equivilant of 3 slices of bread a day for 3 months before the testing. Good luck, and have a safe trip!
  22. Robbin and Tiffany--Thanks for confirming that I wasn't being too critical--the thing is, how many times do they have a celebrity on and literally hang on every word they say? It was just so annoying to try and listen to what this man had to say, while they were cackling on over him. Well, if we feel this way, and let them know, maybe others around the...
  23. Bless you for that, Julie
  24. I use Vance's Dari Free when I "bread" chicken (with potato flakes)--it comes out the same as if I'd used milk. Also, since you mix the Vance's up yourself, you can make it thicker for some things.
  25. I have not, but my husband did at his colo. in October. I don't remember the size, but the doctor said it was small and looked ok. They removed and biopsied it, and it was ok. They can run in families--my dad and his mom both had them.
