  1. Thanks for that Carla--that would explain a lot for me.
  2. Here is the link to Nini's post-- Open Original Shared Link
  3. This looks like it would be very interesting. Thanks for posting about it, C. I think I will look for it
  4. Floridian--You and you family are in my prayers. How scary! Everyone has given you good food ideas--I was also wondering if you could do fruit/veggies in glass jars (as opposed to cans). Nut butters on any fresh fruit or veggie would keep you going. The only veggie you should not eat raw is a potato. That could make you sick. Carrots keep well. I will...
  5. I've never had a problem with plain frozen veggies--even store brands.
  6. I get them from dried fruit and grape juice. Would any of those contain sulfites? The dried fruit might, I think
  7. I'm another one who gets them about a week later. I have one now that I attribute to all of the dried fruit/Lara Bars I ate last weekend and in the few days before that. I didn't feel real well all this week, and the mouth sore showed up yesterday.
  8. I'm sorry you felt bad--I don't blame you! The next time, though, you can go prepared. Bring some foil (folded in your purse) and ask that your meat be cooked in it on the grill. That way, it won't be contaminated, and you can eat at the same time as everyone else. Maybe tuck a few safe snacks in there for yourself, too. I know it's not quite the same...
  9. I saw Lorraine Brocco on the View the other day. She said that the 20 episodes were written to be all done as one season. It was HBO that deceided to show the first 12 and then not do the final 8 until January. That's why, she said, that this last episode was not more of a cliffhanger. We were also disapointed in the episode--we kept waiting for something...
  10. Rachel--You are definately feeling your ovaries. I know that as well as I know I'm feeling mine. See if you don't detect a cyclical nature to the pain/twinges. I do, and no matter what the doctor says about fibroids, I know that's what it is. Stick to your guns because I don't think I've ever seen someone so in tune with their own body as you are. P...
  11. Look at it this way--with the wide variety of issues addressed here, there's gotta be a little something for everybody!
  12. Wow--I can't believe all the new posts since just last night!! Floridian--ouch!--Sorry you got glutened by that broth . I hope it dosen't last long. I'm afraid of Swanson because some of their broths are gluten-free and some aren't--I worry about CC with them anyway. Imagine (if you can get it) is very good and I've never had a problem with it. Julie...
  13. This reply always kills me! I can only imagine what my Gastroenterologist would say if I asked him to write a letter to a cosmetic company to check ingredients! These companies need to get a grip
  14. I know--we're all so far apart! No matter how nice and understanding our friends and families are, there's nothing like talking things out with another person who really understands--because they've been there. I did have a picture of myself (and my cat) that was up for a little while. I tend to post so much, I was tired of seeing my face pop up all the...
  15. I never vomit--even with terrible nausea. I do get what I think is bile when I've had D for a long time and there's nothing else left. That causes burning--stomach acid?
  16. Floridian--Very true! I do love your new picture! Very sweet
  17. I have tried Accupuncture--the needles were painless. There is also Kinesiology--I also did that and they identified gluten as a problem food for me and said I should avoid it--that was long before my actual diagnosis. They don't use needles--just muscle testing.
  18. Well, I'm glad you are ok! Salt--who would have thought?! But you were probably taking in a lot more than you thought with the baking soda and everything. Good that he gave you the Epi Pens--that should make you feel a little more at ease. Hope tonight is uneventful!
  19. The thing that sets my ovarian pain apart from anything intestinal is that when it's really bad, it hurts to press the skin in the area. It's like the whole lower left side is inflamed. When I told my GYN this at my appt to discuss the ultrasound, she kind of laughed it off, saying--well, of course you have pain with an 8 cm fibroid! I said--but the pain...
  20. Sorry if my post scared you--I was being honest. You could give them a try--I'm very sensitive and react to many foods made on the same machinery as gluten. I'm sure there are as many folks here that eat their products and are fine. Anything not made in a dedicated facility is a gamble
  21. I get D every time I get glutened, but that always happens thru CC. I have not eaten anything containing gluten in a year. I honestly don't know what would happen if I ate a gluten food now. Thinking back, I did not get it every time I ate gluten--I never felt well, but there were some days that were better than others.
  22. When glutened, I get a feeling in my eyes similar to that. It's like I can't open them up all the way, and they feel dry, but I can get tearing, too. Strange.
  23. Leah--I'm your age, having just been diagnosed last year after years of odd symptoms and illnesses. I had the exact same reaction as you did when I found out about Celiac and the many symptoms. It was like at that moment I had a reason for it all and I was not crazy.
  24. Yea--the good stuff always is! And the halfmoons from Harrison were so buttery....just thinkin...
  25. Anytime we go to Syracuse, we have to bring a dozen back for my older son! The ones from Syr. are unlike any we've had anywhere else. Harrison Bakery made the BEST halfmoons!
