  1. I know--I've caught myself just before I licked it so many times! Hope this passes quickly for you
  2. I have heard that they do have gluten and that they don't--so many times that I honestly don't know what to believe. I personally choose to play it safe and not lick envelopes. If my husband isn't around, I use a wet, wadded-up paper towel. Does the job, and disposable. The next time I'm at Wal Mart, and I'm thinking about it, I plan to buy a glue stick...
  3. Smart woman, indeed
  4. Hi Sandee--Welcome to the board I can answer your second question regarding adding your business name/website address to your signature--that is against board rules. As for the ad to find a baker, I honestly don't know. I would suggest you email Scott (admin) directly and ask him. You can use the Email Us link to the left of the screen. I hope...
  5. Hi Rachel--Well, I'm back on the Caveman diet--this time for good! I was doing it for a while, and it made me feel much better. So--what did I do? I tried a probiotic that turned out to have lactose in it. Got sick from that, stopped, and felt better. Then I thought, why not try a little rice again? The gluten-free bread followed--and then the gluten...
  6. Beverly--I'm really glad you're getting things figured out. Best of luck with your surgery tomorrow! I'll keep you in my thoughts
  7. Sorry you're so sick!! Do watch out for tapioca--it causes me to have symptoms very similar to gluten. And that got worse over time. Good luck with all the stuff you have planned--why do these things always seem to be scheduled exactly when we have a health crisis??
  8. I have to agree with Richard on this--I think that some time off to really look into this makes a lot of sense. If he's having these problems at college, and has had them all through school, it is not going to be any better once he graduates and is out in the job market. I can relate to picky eaters--I have one here! But really, if you look at it, he's...
  9. Hi Lister--My guess would be that the dressing may be too spicy for you right now. There are a lot of ingredients in there that can irritate an already sensitive stomach. Although a little more complicated, could you try just olive oil, cider vinegar, salt and pepper? Something simpler like that might be easier on your system right now. I have to...
  10. So glad you had a great time--it sounded wonderful And BTW, what is that with Italians and "the wooden spoon"? My grandmother used to 'threaten' us with it--but never did anything!
  11. What a sweet thing to say, Lisa. How did you know that was just what I needed to hear right about now? I'm glad that you're here!
  12. The only M & M's that ever had gluten in them were the crispy ones--and I believe they have been discontinued. As Lisa said, enjoy!
  13. I got this response when asking about Mrs. Butterworth's Syrup-- To: jerseyangel May 15, 2006 E-Mail Address: jerseyangel Dear Ms. Thank you for taking the time to inquire about Pinnacle Foods Corporation and the products we produce which might be gluten-free. We appreciate your interest in our company and our products. At...
  14. My heart rate is not fast--it's normal, but I have palpatations (I am aware of my heart beating) quite often. I had an echo cardiogram and Holter Monitor test 2 years ago (for an unrelated problem), and everything was fine. I have mentioned it to my doctor, and she said it was not a problem. Mine started after about 6 months gluten-free.
  15. Vincent--really? That is good news! Do you have any more tips on just leaving the eggs out? Do you have to alter any of the other ingred.? Does this mean baked goods, or anything? Thanks! TCA--I truly hope that this turns out to be the cause of Megan's choking spells.
  16. Glad to hear that all is well--now you guys can get some rest!
  17. You could water down the Tang some, so he'll get some flavor. Do you have any ginger ale or sprite or anything like that? Of course, you'll want to lay off the milk till his stomach is back to normal.
  18. You're a good dad, too !!
  19. Aren't kids great--the way they bounce back! Glad to hear he's already feeling better--the most important thing is the liquids, anyway. What a mother's day gift for your wife--cleaning up puke Oh well, us moms are used to stuff like that. Wish her a happy day for me
  20. Poor Tymber --at this point, I would think something light like apple juice (sipped slowly), toast w/ a little jelly for taste, popsicles, a little banana, clear broth. Also, do you have any gluten-free crackers? Hopefully, he'll be all better by tomorrow! Just go easy, and do make sure he gets some additional fluids to replace what he lost.
  21. The problem with the Log Cabin, in particular, is that they use barley in the processing.
  22. Hi and welcome to the board! It gets easier, really . In addition to all of the naturally gluten-free foods like fresh meats, fish, veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds, and most dairy--there are plenty of "treats" you can have. Providing you have no other food intolerances, a lot of ice creams are gluten-free (except, of course the obvious flavors like cookie...
  23. Thanks! I have to tell you that after talking about this cake, I made one today and topped it with homemade chocolate frosting. Just had a piece--so good Happy mother's day to you, too--have a good one
  24. Hi C--One Italian girl to another--The only thing you can do is show them how you have everything under control. Just do what you need to do like bring in your own food, check on how they handle it--and OWN the whole thing! It's all in the attitude . Hard headed is right--I've got lots of relatives like that! Can't tell them nothing. Anyway, have a...
  25. Yea--I would hazard a guess that the one I go to in Marlton is one of the smaller ones. Once in a while, I'll go up to Princeton, which is much bigger.
