  1. It's hard to say when we don't know exactly what you are refering to. If you could let us know which products and how the starch is listed, we'd have a better chance of helping you out.
  2. I've seen it at Wild Oats, also. Whole Foods here does not carry it.
  3. Wow Jillian--that sounds delicious!
  4. Be careful--Log Cabin Syrups are NOT gluten-free, with the exception of their Log Cabin Country Kitchen Syrup. Aunt Jemima syrups are gluten-free.
  5. Hi Kelly and welcome to the board! I have to agree with the nurse--you need to stay on gluten right up to the biopsy. Not doing so, even for a relitively short time could very well skew the result. Hang in there! I know how tempting it is to want to get rid of the gluten now and start feeling better. Have you read through any of the old posts yet...
  6. I use equal parts of brown sugar and rice flour, and 1/2 as much butter or margarine. Use a pastry blender to combine until you get the crumbly texture. I also add a tsp. of cinnamon.
  7. I'm not sure where you're located, but I get Gluten Free Pantry at my local Acme--their pancake mix is really good. My non gluten-free husband likes them, too! Also, Wegman's Pancake Syrup is gluten-free, and says so right on the label. (My husband actually likes it better than my pure maple syrup). Go figure
  8. Congratulations! I'm so happy for you and your husband
  9. I was the person who suggested them to you--I also take them. They are gluten-free and are a good, basic multivitamin. I think you will be happy with them
  10. I use, and highly recommend, Badger Balm. You can get it in a little pot, or a tube. Great flavors, and I spoke with the company--they contain no gluten.
  11. I think that taking them is a good idea. I don't think you have to worry about the Centrum giving you too much of any one vitamin or mineral. It's a basic, balanced formula based on the MDR. I agree with Shirley's advice when it comes to supplimenting specific vitamins in larger amounts. For that, you may want to get blood testing to see if you are actually...
  12. I use Vance's also, and agree it is the best tasting that I have tried. Good texture, too--not too thin. The only drawback for me is that I have to order by mail--no stores anywhere near me carry it. I also use it dry as a creamer in my tea.
  13. My symptoms start in about 2 hours. It lasts anywhere from 5-10 days. (Knock wood, I think as time goes on, it's closer to 5 now)
  14. I use pure maple syrup, too. I use it as a sweetner on other things in addition to pancakes.
  15. I had stomach problems as a child--D after eating, felt faint at times. During my teen years, I was fine--did everything I wanted, ate everything with no problems. After C-section birth of 2nd child at 29, symptoms returned.
  16. Charlie--Thank you so much! There is a store in Cinnaminson that I'm going to call tomorrow--that's not far from here at all. Never knew they were there--like you said, a new place to find gluten free foods. Thanks again
  17. Hi Rachel! I can get Cascadian Farms at Acme here. I'm not sure if you have any Albertson/Acme stores out there, but I just wanted to let you know.
  18. Centrum is inexpensive, and can be found in Wal Mart, drug stores, and grocery stores.
  19. Hi Danielle--I'm concerned, too! Hopefully, you can build on the chicken--use a little olive oil, as was mentioned, and when that settles right maybe cooked zucchini, summer squash. Try your veggies (slowly) and fruit cooked very well--that may help. Best of luck--let us know how you're doing!
  20. Why is it when I read this, all I could think of is the old theme from "Mission Impossible"?
  21. For gosh sake--glad to hear you're going to call your doctor!! I've been concerned for you while following this whole thing. I do believe you're on to something--hope this is a giant piece of the puzzle for you
  22. Hi and welcome! Another good bread--The Gluten Free Pantry French Bread Mix. I also mix it up in my Kitchenaid, and bake it in a loaf pan in the oven. The absolute best gluten-free hamburger buns I've had are fron Grandma Ferndons. The only drawback is the high shipping fees. (it's like $20!) I really don't buy enough from them to justify it normally...
  23. Yea Lisa--what Nini said. It seems like you can not catch a break here. We're all behind you though, and I'm sending you a great big hug
  24. I also feed my cat a food that contains gluten. He's 14, and I hate to change his food at this point. I wash my hands after feeding--never been a problem.
