  1. Vincent--I see it there, not only wheat, but gluten!
  2. Hi Rinku--welcome ! No, none of the teeth that cracked were decayed. Because Celiac can cause vitamin and mineral deficiences, it may be that a lack of calcium was to blame in my case. I had Celiac, undiagnosed, for a long time. I'm hoping that now that I'm absorbing better, the chipping will stop. Other than that, I don't know of any way to prevent...
  3. Wendy--good to know we can still look forward to the Celiac episode--thanks!
  4. Yes--Although I have had very little tooth decay (only 2 cavities in my life), I have had problems with teeth chipping and cracking. The first time, it was a back molar. I was chewing something, and felt the worst pain--I had broken the tooth, and had to have it pulled. I also have another molar that has chipped at the top edge, and have had to have a...
  5. ---I know what you mean!!
  6. Even if the Celiac storyline is just a rumor, it got me watching the show--and now it's one of my favorites! If they were looking for more viewers, they got me
  7. Lemonade--I felt the exact same way in the beginning. Your body is beginning to heal, and the fatigue, moodiness and brain fog are all part of the process. You just need to keep at it--it really will get better--I have said that I didn't begin to improve for 4 months. It varies from person to person. Try and rest as much as possible. Get enough water...
  8. My eyesight is definately affected when I get a gluten reaction. The vision gets a little fuzzy--like I need to blink a lot to clear it, and it can be more difficult to focus. The sensation is hard to explain, it's like my vision darts from side to side very quickly, and I have to concentrate on it to make it stop.
  9. For me, the D stopped in a few days. The other symptoms took longer--I began to feel better around the 4th. month. After 8 months, I still have problems with fatigue, joint pain, anxiety and reflux. I am a work in progress
  10. Michelle--It's not minor at all! So happy you got the go-ahead from the ins. co. Good luck--and let us know how he does
  11. McCain Crinkles--per 3 oz. serving--150 calories 6 g. fat Made with canola oil
  12. I would also suggest you have him tested for Celiac. I am 49, but had nausea as my main symptom from the time I was in my 20's. Because nausea and dizziness were my main symptoms, I was misdiagnosed for many years. The D did not begin to be a problem until about 10 years ago--and did not get severe until 2 years ago. You need to ask for the complete Celiac...
  13. Me too--exactly! When I get one, it can last 2 or 3 days. And it's always in my left eye.
  14. Tiffany--That sounds like it was a great, informative meeting! Thanks for sharing
  15. An EDG is the same thig as an endoscopy with biopsy. The Dr. should take several samples from different areas. My results came back in about a week and a half.
  16. Months ago, I called and was told that Centrum was certified gluten-free. Has anything changed?
  17. I like the new line by McCains. They are"crispy on the outside, like mashed potatoes on the inside"--or something to that effect! They have the shoestring, crinkled and smiley faces. They come in a bright blue bag. I have called to verify that the 3 shapes described here are gluten-free. Granted, they are not exactly fast food fries, but they are good...
  18. Yes they are gluten-free. I take one every day.
  19. I e-mailed them a little while ago. Among other things, I told them you can't kill gluten with high temps. like you would bacteria. Maybe some uninformed person (read:dim bulb) thought it would cook out and they've been going with that ever since.
  20. Eat as you normally would--and keep eating the gluten! Good luck with your procedure!
  21. Me, too--
  22. Judy--Please do post that when you can. I've been meaning to sign up for Google alerts, but have not yet.
  23. I don't know the techinical explanation--it has to do with the mixture of metals in the steel. I do know that 18/10 is considered the highest quality, as opposed to thinner, less substantial stainless that would be like 18/0. With my new pans, I scrub them out, and if there's room in the dishwasher, I put them through there, too. Also, since the handles...
  24. Frying at even a high temperature is not going to "kill" gluten. I think soneone there thought that it would and that's why they have always said their fries were gluten-free.
