  1. No. they don't retrieve it--it just 'goes' away
  2. You're just full of good news these days, Jillian!
  3. Rachel--was wondering how you did at the dr.--fell asleep last night at 9:30! Anyway, good to hear you can start the antibiotics. Here's hoping they will do the trick
  4. I'd like to add this to what everyone above has said--at the beginning, after cutting out the gluten, we tend to feel much better. What then happens, (in a lot of cases) is that we start to become more sensitive to smaller amounts. Another thing that was big for me was going through all of my personal care products and seeing if there was gluten in any...
  5. I also understand that MM is gluten-free. I have switched from Tropicana OJ to MM.
  6. Just saw the story mentioned on the "crawl" on the bottom of the screen on Good Morning America.
  7. My mom had it done last year. She had been hospitalized after a fall, and her hemiglobin was very low, and they couldn't figure out why. She had a colo. and endo., but there's a portion of the intestine that is not viewed by either of those, so she swallowed the camera. She then had to wear a little 'battery pack' looking thing for several hours afterwards...
  8. I'm not familiar with the brand, but just a thought--could you be sensitive to soy? Tofu = soy.
  9. Jillian--I thought that might be you! See my earlier post
  10. Elisabet--So glad to hear your son is showing improvement!
  11. I thought I'd ask this question here, with all the flour blend experts weighing in. I am sensitive to soy and tapioca flours. I do still use rice flour, just don't eat it every day. Does anyone know if a mix of rice flour, sorghum flour, and potato starch would work for all purpose baking? I've been thinking about trying it, but hate to buy the sorghum...
  12. The CSA guide actually used that wording
  13. Thanks Elonwy--could that have been OUR Jillian quoted in the article?
  14. Van's Waffles got me, too. Made me very sick--
  15. All Pepsi products are gluten free according to the CSA Product Guide.
  16. Wow--that's great to see! Every time I come across the story that adresses the trans-fat in the fries, I think--yea, but what about the wheat Thanks.
  17. Jillian--thanks for the update--I look forward to the article!

    ARCHIVED Update

Lollie--that is good news! Take care of yourself--I'll be thinking of you and your mom
  19. MS--Glad you checked in! Sounds like the job is going well? Hope so, and that you are happy there. Sorry you got so ill, but your trip to the hospital at least resulted in your Chron's dx. Make sure you eat as well as you can, and stay healthy in case you have to have the surgery. You've made such progress since we first heard from you--I just know everything...
  20. Also, QVC has them--Item #K5631--Toastabags 10 pc. nonstick toaster bag & liner set. $19.72.
  21. My mom suffers from vertigo quite often. The exact cause is still unkown. She has antiphospholipid syndrome--a clotting disorder that is autoimmune. She also has been tested for Lupus--one of her doctors says she has it, the other, I believe the hemitoligst, says no.
  22. Lollie--So sorry to hear about your mom. Sending good wishes her way . Keep us posted when you have the chance, and take care.
  23. Jennifer--thanks for sharing that. I'm always on the lookout for recipes like that using potato and cornstarch. I am sensitive to rice flour in large amounts and tapioca flour, so a lot of mixes and recipes are out at least for now. When I get my Vance's Dari Free, I think I will try making them--I haven't had a donut in ages!
  24. Congrats B--look how far you've come! I'm glad you're here, your calm insights and humor are greatly appreciated.
