  1. No, they don't. They have dedicated fryers for just the fries.
  2. Here are some articles that talk about fludrocortisone helping. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  3. The thing is, that my grandmother died of stomach cancer (when my mom was only 20), my mother died of liver cancer, as did my dad, all seven of my siblings have symptoms of gluten intolerance, as do all five of my children (two of whom are gluten-free, and one sort of, and they are a ton better) and most of my grandchildren. Who also are now perfectly healthy...
  4. Sorry about that, Marcia. But the problem is, that so many of our health problems are linked that it is hard to talk about one and not the other. I found that fludrocortisone will also help with blood volume. I am taking that as well as using the salt. And it is all linked to the adrenal glands, which got helped by the parasite cleanse.......... The whole...
  5. Despite what a lot of doctors think, there is no such a thing as 'just' anemia. There is always a cause for anemia, and it needs to be found. Otherwise you will be treating a symptom if you only treat anemia. I agree, with your IBS (not a valid diagnosis either, since it is a collection of symptoms that have a cause that needs to be found) and anemia and...
  6. Thanks, Carla. Here is the English site that explains it all in (at times rather strange) English. The person who translated is very obviously translating a lot of terms literally, which you can't really do if you want to end up with 'normal' English. Open Original Shared Link I'll get my naturopathic doctor to read it. He is very open to learning something...
  7. The Canadian site says the natural flavour comes from a vegetable source. Since wheat is a grain, not a vegetable, I believe I can safely rule out gluten. Also, they use CANADIAN ingredients here. This is what they say about the potatoes for the French fries: I doubt they use the same ones in the U.S. I have eaten the fries here, and my granddaughter...
  8. I just started reading this thread, and can't possibly go through all of it, it would take days! I printed the symptom list and ticked off the symptoms I remember (some I suspect I had, but I am not sure, like a rash). I have at least 45 of them. When following one link, I found somebody say this:
  9. Well, to be sure I am okay here in Canada I checked out the ingredients for the French fries here, and they are gluten-free. Here are the ingredients for Canadian McDonalds fries: French Fries: Potatoes, canola oil, hydrogenated soybean oil, safflower oil, natural flavour (vegetable source), dextrose, sodium acid pyrophosphate (maintain colour), citric...
  10. Humaworm will leave out things you ask not to put in. Next time I will ask them to leave out the ginger, peppermint and cayenne, as cayenne is a nightshade (plus high in salicylates) and the other two make me sick, too. Especially peppermint is extremely high in salicylates and made me ill. You could ask them to leave out the senna, cayenne and whatever...
  11. A lot of parasite cleanses aren't that effective. I did one from Open Original Shared Link. Already on the third day a large roundworm came out, and after that a million small ones and one larger 'thing' that looked like an octopus (very weird and gross looking). I had been tested for parasites by my regular md, and they claimed I was fine. Right, their...
  12. I can't drink orange juice, because I am intolerant to all juices, due to high salicylate content. I am taking fludrocortisone, which is supposed to increase blood volume (and blood pressure as a result). I was feeling better when taking more, but can't go around with a blood pressure of 165 over 110, obviously. With taking only 0.5 mg now, my bp is at...
  13. Hi Allison, and welcome to this board. Yes, it sounds like you may have celiac disease. If you are going to get tested, don't stop eating gluten, otherwise the testing won't be accurate. But since those tests aren't all that reliable, you should try the gluten-free diet after all tests are done, even if they come back negative. Because the diet trial is the...
  14. The reason I originally started the salt/c treatment was, that I suspected I may have Lyme and read that is an effective treatment. And it made a difference. As I said elsewhere, I am waiting for results of my hair analysis. I told my naturopathic doctor that despite all the things we've done I haven't gotten significantly better, and we need to get...
  15. Interesting, I just did some research on this condition, and I've had most of those symptoms all my life! I absolutely cannot stand still anywhere for very long or feel faint. I also tend to put one foot up on a chair when standing in the kitchen, and end up leaning over a shopping cart during shopping because of feeling like I am going to pass out. And...
  16. The best one to use is the Google one. If you install the Google navigation bar, it includes a spell checker which will check EVERYTHING you type on the Internet, including posts you do in forums.
  17. Breastfeeding is always best for the babies. My daughter breastfed her twins for over a year, and didn't give them any solids until they were seven months old. I have even heard of a woman who exclusively breastfed triplets! My daughter would feed the babies at the same time, it is called 'tandem feeding'. Make sure you see a lactation specialist to...
  18. Yes, she got a swing set with slide for her birthday (it is for her baby sister as well) from her parents and both sets of grandparents. She loved it so much, she would get up from her nap in the afternoon, run straight for the back door and say, "Go outside, slide?" And then wear herself out completely by climbing up and sliding down for hours! She...
  19. I disagree with lots of carbs. When I eat too many carbs, I get tired, sluggish and bloated. My energy comes from meat and fat. If I don't get enough protein and saturated fat I can't do anything. Plus, of course, meat is what gives you iron and vitamin B12 (which is also in eggs).
  20. Yesterday my daughter and son-in-law took Zoey for her x-ray and they were so hopeful that her cast would come off (for anybody who didn't read my first topic on this- she broke her femur four weeks ago and is in a cast that goes from her left ankle right up to her ribcage, so she can only lie flat). It was their fourth wedding anniversary yesterday, too...
  21. First of all, the testing is FAR from perfect. Secondly, you don't have the official celiac disease genes for what they consider celiac disease genes in North America, but in other countries they accept other genes as celiac disease genes. You might have those. And thirdly, if it makes you feel bad, don't eat it. It is irrelevant if all your testing was...
  22. A lot of your energy may be going into healing your gut. You are recovering, try to get plenty of rest! Our body repairs itself primarily during sleep, so now you likely need more sleep. Can you get some help, or somebody who can watch your kids for an hour or two in the afternoon so you can have a nap? Have you had your levels of essential nutrients...
  23. Nan, the low end of 'normal' for ferritin and vitamin D is in reality being deficient, and you should supplement with both to get to the optimal range. You may feel a ton better for it. Also, would you mind posting all of your blood test results? They might be very telling. For instance, if your TSH was above 2, you might be hypothyroid after all. My...
  24. Valda, that sounds like a fun trip, and I am glad you managed to be safe the whole time. Nothing will spoil a trip more than getting sick. I have also stayed in places with a small kitchen before, and those are great. I am sure your tips will help others to have safe and fun trips.
  25. It actually may be coming from your stomach. I get that problem when eating certain things I am intolerant to, like eggs. You may need to do an elimination diet to figure out what is causing it. In the meantime I suggest you go to your health food store and buy several homeopathic remedies that really help me when I get that awful pain. Those are sepia...
