  1. When I started reading this thread, I wasn't happy but it has made me realize that I have plenty to be happy for. I finally, after all these years, know what is wrong with me. That in turn led to the diagnosis of my daughter so hopefully she will never have to suffer like I have. I have two amazing kids, amazing parents, a few damn good friends, and the...
  2. Having been a new person on this forum recently, it is hard to navigate when doing searches. If you search egg sensitivity every thread with those words pops up and it isn't sorted by where it is found on the forum, so yes a newbie could read this. If you look at the forum by "new content", it also comes up. Not everyone who looks these things up happen...
  3. Let's for sanity sake of all future celiacs that read this thread, agree to disagree. 99.9 percent of celiacs should, and I say "should" be able to eat eggs with no problem. They aren't a gluten containing item. A very small percentage of people might react to what is fed to the chickens. THIS IS RARE. I don't want to have a bunch of newbies running...
  4. I got Grave's about 11 years before my Celiac diagnosis but you would know if that was your problem, Hyper is a lot different than Hypo omg. I think Hashi's is more prevalent among Celiacs though. Don't really see many on here with Grave's Disease. But like Nicole said, 1.0 is about where I feel the best too. My TSH has become more normalized and I...
  5. I was a line cook when I was diagnosed and had to quit my job because of celiac. I found myself getting sick every day I worked. Not matter how careful I was, it ended up happening. But I would also have flour on my shirts, in my hair, under my fingernails. I would wash my hands OCD style, wear a mask ( which really isn't an easy feat in the kitchen with...
  6. Mine had three little oatmeal packets, a small bag of cookies, one magazine and two boxes with the same information in them, no coupons. I didn't really think anything of it until a friend received hers and it was packed. I was a little disappointed then. I had ordered one that I am also sharing with my daughter since she didn't get diagnosed with a biopsy...
  7. Or she just has brain fog from undiagnosed celiac and it has nothing to do with blonde hair...lol
  8. Yes, when I had the mass in my chest I was there quite a few times. Luckily I saw the head of Pulmonology and the head of the Cardiothoracic surgery department. I was very pleased when I went there. What was supposed to be a month long stay in the hospital turned into a day surgery ( I disappointed a lot of people that day, I think I was the only one that...
  9. Soy, garlic, dairy, eggs whole( baked into recipes don't bother me) and whole rice bothers me. I was using a huge tub of " I can't believe it's not butter" that I bought after my diagnosis that I was using in everything I needed butter for not ever even thinking twice that soy is on the ingredient list in like four different places. I stopped using it on...
  10. I used to love raisin bran cereal ( two scoops of raisins) and shredded wheat..... RIP
  11. Send me the ingredients and jars and I will send you the finished product.. mail it to... 801 Make Your Own Lane Puppy Dog Eyes Don't Work On Me, WI 8675309
  12. 8-10 pounds ( two bags of apples) peeled and cored. Cube and put into crock pot. I add one frozen bag of strawberries, and two cups of rhubarb. Then add in cinnamon to taste ( a few tablespoons), 2/3 cup of agave and a 1/4 cup of honey. Cook on low for about 6 hours, stir and eat. YUMMY stuff.
  13. I don't know when the first Wheaties peeing happened, but I know I have been saying that for as long as I can remember ( that means earlier today). Maybe I did the first Wheaties pee......
  14. Seriously, I am surprised we didn't have the meeting in a nursing home. One nice thing though is they send out a newsletter every month with recipes and news about celiac. I know there is a woman in the area that is trying to start a support group for children in the area which I am awaiting for my 11 year old. The woman ran for Miss Wisconsin and used...
  15. Sorry to burst your bubble, peed in your Wheaties, rained on your parade, got your undies in a bundle, knickers in a knot, you get it lol.
  16. Tomorrow I am making strawberry rhubarb applesauce and home made chicken dumpling soup ( a rather large batch so I can freeze some, I have ten pounds of chilcken lol and a 20 quart soup pot. I might be a busy girl. My baby is going to Boy Scout camp the next two nights so it will be me and my daughter. She needs to learn to cook sometime since she can...
  17. I don't know the answer to this but I am curious about it. My grandmother has some cast iron and she is moving and I didn't want to take them not knowing if they were safe. It was just one of the items I put on my kitchen wish list!
  18. I hope you find people your own age. The support group meeting I went to in my area didn't have anyone within 30 years of my age, all little old men and women and their walkers.
  19. My family is like that also. My biological dad has MS, and I have quite a few cousins on that side with multiple AI issues. I have encouraged a lot of them to get tested for celiac and I know one has but she was negative. They also didn't do much for testing on her. I told her to start an elimination diet so I am going to help her with that. My mother...
  20. Thanks you guys. I have been thinking a lot about this and I am starting to think the doctor is full of BS. The nabumitone I started two months ago because I was having a lot of pain, nothing would work. I started to feel better after about a week, I had to tweak with the dosing. My doctor had me taking a large dose once a day so I took one in the morning...
  21. I was just diagnosed with Fibro today and was wondering what kind of meds others are taking to control the pain and what you do otherwise to help with the pain? My GP told me two months ago he thought this was my problem and started me on Nabumetone twice a day and my GI has me taking dicyclomine also to help with the muscle pains and spasms but I really...
  22. You will have to let me know how it goes! I read about some of their trials but I don't think I would apply for one since I don't have my diet under control.
  23. You don't necessarily need to shop at whole foods. A lot of foods you can get at any old supermarket and some people order bulk flours and such which you can get online. It's an adjustment but a worthy one when you start to feel better. You might also have other "symptoms" that you didn't even realize were related. Just look at it as a whole new you....
  24. Don't drink coffee, too hard on the belly. My GP thought two months ago that I had Fibromyalgia and he put me on Nabumetone twice a day and my GI has me on Dicyclomine too to help with muscle spasms and pain. I asked about getting on some meds that are geared more towards fibro and the Rheumy told me to talk to my GP because I am on so many different...
  25. Like Nicole stated if your tests are inconclusive but your biopsy revealed Celiac, do the gluten free diet. Nothing good comes from being a celiac and eating gluten. Even if you aren't having digestive symptoms it is wreaking havoc on not only your intestines but the rest of your body as well. Untreated celiac isn't fun, just ask a bunch of us that have...
