ARCHIVED Snickers...
Rusla replied to chgomom's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I do not eat anything that is even made in the same facility as wheat products. So for me the same machine is an even bigger no no. Snickers is totally off my list now as was my rude awakening with Mars, which made me sick. -
Anyone on here remember when this big kafufel started with MCD's on here? I believe that is the same people who came on here and wanted us to support them for their feeding their child french fries all the time. While still seeing how the child was sick they kept it up and wanted all of us to back them. Once again here they go not accepting responsibility...

ARCHIVED Horrible Biopsy Experience
Rusla replied to wonkabar's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
The famous saying is that specialists "are a special breed." I found that true on dental specialists also. They are a breed of their own. Most of the ones I have met have no manners either and they think they are royalty. I have met a few who were just terrific but most seem to be like the one you met. -

ARCHIVED Completely New To Gluten Free Diet
Rusla replied to alexschatzi's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Welcome to the forum. Being gluten-free is not bad and if more restaurants will get on board with it, it will become easier. The biggest problem you or any of us will have is accidental glutenings and being glutened by others. -
ARCHIVED Happy Birthday, Momma Goose!
Rusla replied to jerseyangel's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Happy Birthday, Lisa! You have a good one. Lots of gluten-free cake and rum. -
What doctors should do and what they do, do are two different things. I cut the nails last night on these hands, even with my finger tip. This morning the little nail that is left is alreayd curling down. For awhile my ridges were gone but now they are back, and they are huge. As for fatigue I am very fatigued lately. I am a person who is used to...

I found this and it mentions low B-12 and Celiac. /www.intelihealth.com/IH/ihtIH/WSIHW000/9339/10207.html

I was on synthroid for the Hashis and for PA I take sublingual B-12, when I am a good girl. I usually forget because I am bad at meds. I was on the shots but did not want needles the rest of my life. I, like you, have the huge ridges and moons only seen on the same two fingers.

ARCHIVED I Want To Scream And Have A Meltdown!
Rusla replied to Turtle's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I am so sorry this is happening to you. I know this is supposedly the brides day etc. You would think being a life long friend and all she would have more courtesy for you than that. She sounds like a spoiled self-centred little brat who needs a good spanking. I would have been inclined to say,"no problem, I will just run out in the middle of the ceremony... -
In the last few years the nail on my baby finger left hand would start to curl under when it gets slightly long, like over the tip of the finger. Now, it is not just the baby finger, but the middle finger and the one next to the baby finger that are doing it on the left hand. Yet, the right hand is alright. Now I am just trying to figure out if anyone...

ARCHIVED *********help, I Need A Hive Expert**********
Rusla replied to azmom3's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I have a friend that gets hives just when his teeth start to decay, before they even get real bad or painful, he gets them everywhere. By the time his tooth starts to hurt a litte or get sensitive his hives are horrible. Perhaps it is a dental or infection reaction to teeth or something else. I would have it checked out for things like that. -
ARCHIVED So I Have A Twin Brother Right....
Rusla replied to JerryK's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yup, it sounds like some of my symptoms and yes Celiac can cause all of that and more. Now some people don't want to know because they believe if they hide their head in the sand and they can't see you then you can't see them. So he figures if he ignores it and does nothing about it then it will go away. He is so wrong, it will only get worse. He should... -
ARCHIVED Monosodium Glutamate <--that's Msg, Right?
Rusla replied to Sweetfudge's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have read conflicting stuff to do with msg. Outside the fact I have a severe allergy to it and it makes me killer sick. I have read that sometimes it is gluten-free and sometimes not. So, why take the chance not only that, but my personal feelings are that the darn stuff should be made illegal. -
ARCHIVED I Just Got Back From Getting My Hair Done!
Rusla replied to Canadian Karen's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Now to go with your punk new hairdo where are your leather clothes? You will need those and multiple piercings, before you head out on the weekend to the rave and the mosh pit. -
I think that is a great idea and the card demands attention with it's bright color.

To everyone on this list; without you I would have been no where at all. I would have been lost, if not for all of you. Your support means everything and has meant everything to me. All of you are the most wonderful people. I will not mention names because I would likely miss someone and then I would feel like a bum. Just know that in just over a month it...

ARCHIVED I Just Have A Question Please Read!
Rusla replied to aaron's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Welcome Aaron to the forum. I will parrot what the others have said and will now add my parts. You may not think it matters but believe me I would give anything more than 30 years ago to have known what you know now. If I had a diagnosis then I could have kept most of my teeth instead of the disease taking them. I could not have osteoporosis, I could... -
ARCHIVED Does Anystill Eat Gluten?
Rusla replied to uhmanduh's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I haven't seen Radman for quite some time. But it is true uhmanduh, we are doing this because if one person does not have to suffer the way most of us have then it is worth saying this. I wish I would have known about this when I was your age. Better still I wish the doctors would have but many are still not well versed in this disease. It is sad how... -

ARCHIVED My Unusual Symptoms
Rusla replied to a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
First, have your B-12 checked if it hasn't been. Now on the maybe allergic to do. If it was someone else allergic to them I would say get rid of the person and keep the animal. However, as it may be you then you either have to get rid of yourself or have shots. However, have allergy tests first. -
I have never liked the cold, never liked winter, hate anything to do with it and believe me we can get it real cold here. I don't ski, see no sense in it. I want green grass and flowers all the time. From Oct - April I also have SAD. I am always cold and my work is sometimes colder than being outside, like today.

So anyone going to the convention here next Saturday Oct. 28, besides lil' ole me?

ARCHIVED Does Anystill Eat Gluten?
Rusla replied to uhmanduh's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
uhmanduh, I would definitely go gluten-free and the one who forced me to get on the doctors cases and literally force them to do the skin biopsy for my dh was my sister. Her questions to me were "how soon do you wish to die? Would you like to have cancer of the stomach or colon? and Do you want to walk around with your bowel movements in a bag for the rest...
