  1. You are right, eating children is like eating gluten. All that screaming inside of my stomach and their little claws pinching me hurts. It is great to see you again, actually great to see all of you again. We as we celebrate the end of the year and our ancestors celebrate the eath. You can always do what I do, I do it for Yule also I leave seeds for...
  2. Now on a more somber note I must report that my bra has died. It held me up for awhile but then it let me down. Which,it is responsible for breaking both my kneecaps and causing me to have whiplash.
  3. Hey there, it looks like you've been having a bad hair day...lol. Yes, I have been eating children perhaps that is why I have an extreme kidney infection. I have also been looking for some place to move to which is difficult when there is nothing to move to. I also had some stories to get out and I am lagging behind in my book which has to be done for Feb...
  4. Yeah that was a pretty fast and dirty cut. They never mentioned oats or malt either, they didn't have me saying I get horrible pain, dh , pernicious anemia, etc. They also never put in the fact that I said there needs to be awareness on all levels. It needs to be a bigger spot hopefully some day. At least they got the association, split and some of...
  5. I am trying to find a way to escape here.
  6. They are doing the piece right now and boy do I look horrible.
  7. I had prozac once and I almost jumped off a bridge, which is something for someone who is afraid of heights. It made me very suicidal but then I don't react to drugs the way most people would.
  8. First off osteoporosis in the spine is a major contributor to stature shrinkage. Caltrate chews have vitamin D in them and taste okay.
  9. The white heads like pimples sounds like DH to me. I get those in the corner of my mouth below the bottom lip, around my nose and below my left eye and on the eyelid. When I get that much of an outbreak I have been into serious contact with gluten. Unfortunately it has all been accidental. That means that she must be ingesting gluten accidently.
  10. The question is, are you sure those are gluten-free worms?
  11. That is great to know about the Quarry, I will remember that name. Is that the restaurant that is in an old gray and white house building on the corner? Now, is anyone going to the Convention on October 28th here in Calgary?
  12. Unfortunately their ginger beef/chicken is not gluten-free. There is another restaurant in the NW on about 4 st and 20 Ave. NW. I believe, the Silver Inn and they make their ginger/beef chicken with cornstarch. I have yet to go eat there since being gluten-free.
  13. Hi Kate, Well by gluten-free that means everything including hair, makeup, hand cream etc. Think about how many years of gluten you have in your system. Some people feel better in some ways within the first week and some in a few months or a year or so. Each person is different therefore it depends on how fast your system dumps the gluten and how much...
  14. Better you guys than me getting snow. I loath snow, I hate the cold I want to see green grass and pretty flowers all year.
  15. Not only do I like your avatar, looked like you were having a bad hair and beak day. I love your sig about the ex-allergist. And once againg on the being a pain issue. The thing to remember is at a restaurant you are paying good money to get what you need, they should be willing to give it to you.
  16. Cool, that would be great. When I was in Canmore last weekend they had a store there called Nutter's, it had the biggest gluten-free section I had ever seen and they had some frozen Entree's called "Seeds of Change" I cannot find those here. I am hoping that when they air the show that it will get more restaurants out there to get on the bandwagon...
  17. I am in Canada and I get Kinnickinick all the time and I am fine. The man who started the company is a German who lives in Edmonton and he is Celiac. Unfortunately he just sold the company, let's hope it doesn't change the quality. Perhaps you need to look at what other things you are eating with the products.
  18. Thanks for recommending me Linda. I hope it helps others and wakes up the government and the doctors. If one person finds out sooner and without as much agony as what some of us have gone through. Rinne: Prepare for culture shock. There is a chinese restaurant in the NW across from the Foothills Hospital if you tell him you can't have wheat, soy sauce...
  19. Well any of Amy's food I saw here always said "made in a facility that manufactures wheat products." So, I would never take the chance. I react to such minute amounts of gluten it is not worth it. I even worry about putting my food down on a conveyor at the supermarket for feat that they guy in front his copious amount of bread crumbs are on my food.
  20. I thought I should post it on here for any in and around the Calgary area. CTV news is doing a piece on Celiac Awareness month. They interviewed "The Split" restaurant, "Earth's Oven" bakery and a few other places and people including myself for this. I am not sure when it is being aired it could be any night from 5 PM till 6:45 PM. Unfortunately I was...
  21. Sometimes you have no choice but to eat out. However, at a restuarant I tell them exactly what I need and ask if they can do it, I tell them I have an extreme allergy.Telling people it is an allergy is pretty well the only way they get it the seriousness of it. Now, when I am at a friends place I feel like I am putting them out. If we are doing pot luck I...
  22. Not only is the health care system different from province to province here but so is costs and seeing doctors. Alberta and BC are the only two provinces where we have to pay health care premiums.
  23. I am looking into going raw, maybe not totally raw all the time but I have been to some raw foodings. some people go mostly raw with a few cooked things thrown in off and on. I am trying to find out if chicken jerky is considered raw or not as it is put in a dehydrator.
  24. Even though my Thanksgiving was gluten-free and I know Smitty's in Canmore tried to make it gluten-free, I still got glutened. As that day at the restaurant I had to run for the bathroom, it wasn't total D but it was soft enough. Well, on the way home I started to get DH. Now in time for my Tv interview on Celiac disease today, they got a chance to see a...
  25. Rolos are safe in Canada.
