  1. Open Original Shared Link This is more like silly putty but it would be gluten-free
  2. The only issue I could see is your insurance company not covering the tests without a diagnosis that supports needed those tests annually or however often.
  3. What else did you eat with the noodles? Gluten is "hidden" in a lot of other products you would not expect. What have you done to get gluten out of your diet? It takes a while to see any real improvement with your system too.
  4. We used to live in a townhouse and the woman next to us was from India. For whatever reason she liked to cook in the middle of the night and waking up at 3 am to overpowering Curry just is not a good thing...I can't even walk into an Indian restaurant any more.
  5. I haven't emailed them yet because I have to go back to the store and get the brand names. I don't think there is a Kroger near me now and I know we don't have any back home. I can live without eating them, they are just easy to make after a long day at work. When I get back home, I have options there. I did see some "organic" chicken breasts that were...
  6. Finally finished my corn tortillas tonight. I've been making those with some chicken, cheese and tomatoes. I'm having an Old Orchard Apple Ale.."naturally gluten-free" .
  7. I've been to 3 grocery stores here and they all have frozen bonless, skinless chicken breasts in "broth" of various %'s. It just says "broth" but nothing about if it is gluten-free or not. I have some that I buy at home that are not in a broth and they are fine but I don't know about these. Anyone???
  8. I have to say..they had Krispy Kreme donuts at our meetings last week.....they sure were tempting...but I didn't want to be in the bathroom all day....
  9. I would give the secretary one more shot at the key and then go speak to the principal if she doesn't bend. If you don't get anywhere with that, find another school to sub at. Most schools are desperate for subs so losing one is not something they want to do .
  10. I'm making rotisserie chicken tonight. I'll either make some Ore Ida hash browns or some baby yukon gold roasted potatoes. I have always liked Ore Ida potatoes. They are always in our freezer in some form or another.
  11. Why do you need the diagnosis--that is the first question. If you are already gluten-free and seeing a positive response from the diet, I'd save the money and maybe down the road when you do meet your deductible, have the testing done then. Having the genes doesn't mean you have Celiac, which you know. My daughter has the genes, but, didn't test positive...
  12. Luckily my fog has mostly lifted. It is so frustrating sitting at the computer and not being able to type simple words because your brain just won't spell them out for you!!! It's not 100% gone, but gone enough that I don't feel like a total ditsy person any more!
  13. Actually, the tests are very accurate, but not everyone that has a sensitivity to gluten is Celiac...and that is the "hit or miss" part. The only reason to do the testing would be if you needed the official diagnosis for something though. As for your need for a pain reliever, call your doctor, often they will send in a prescription order without needing...
  14. Open Original Shared Link This app allows you to put in ingredients that you can't have and you scan the bar code to see if it contains gluten or whatever. It's better at "this item has this" vs "this item doesn't have this" but it is helpful and speeds up the shopping process if you are technologically inclined or if you just aren't sure what an ingredient...
  15. Rice Krispies are not Gluten Free..but there is a gluten-free formula of them. What cereal did you eat before? As for food to take for lunch, what about canned tuna or chicken (or packets) with gluten-free crackers, cheese, cut up vegetables (cut up a bunch and keep them in the fridge and just add to your lunch). There is gluten-free lunch meat and gluten...
  16. That is interesting. I was having stomach issues a couple weeks ago and could not figure out why. The only thing I could think of was my multivitamin. I stopped taking that and my stomach issues went away. I don't know that it was gluten but something was not agreeing with me. The bottle says gluten free.
  17. I'm talking about going to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Make and appointment with the endocrinology department there. They do an intake appointment where you go over your symptoms and concerns, that lasts about an hour or so. Then they do a complete physical. While they are doing your physical, the staff if working up appointments for you with whatever...
  18. How tall are you? What other testing have they done? Have you seen an endocrinologist? November is too long to wait. Can you get to the Mayo Clinic? If your testing has come back negative for Celiac, there is obviously something else going on and a good multi-specialty clinic is the way to go.
  19. No, the question was about artificial flavorings and you kept giving me information about natural flavors...I kept trying to point that out to you and you kept posting the same link to the same blog that had no information about what I was talking about...so, do I just ignore that list from this site because you say it's ok? I'm trying to trust you but when...
  20. Well, I can't have oats for 11 more months....and then there is all of this.... /celiac-disease/forbidden-gluten-food-list-unsafe-ingredients-r182/ all 122 items on this list according to my cut and paste into excel....this is what I'm talking about..then, stuff that "should" be gluten-free that tosses malt or something in there that isn't...and you are...
  21. Actually, your ribbing of my food comments prompted this question. You made me feel like I was being way too conservative so I thought I would ask....and, like I said before, until I have the 'safe" list memorized, what else am I supposed to do---just eat whatever and hope for the best...not to mention the conflicting information out there....and here.....
  22. I think I might pick up a steak tonight. I saw they have an Outback Steakhouse near me and it seems like they are very gluten friendly and have good procedures in place! If not, I can pick one up at the grocery store and broil it---just not the same as grilled steak though.
  23. How many people here have had their intestines heal in a week?
  24. It is her child, but with different dietary needs. Why should this one child's dietary needs supersede her son's? The nut allergic child also needs to adapt to being in a school where this policy will only give a false sense of security....and a child not eating lunch during the school day just is not a good idea at all. Sorry that you got such bad information...
  25. If I were you I would get to Mayo and get to the bottom of all of this. The guesswork has to be frustrating.
