  1. I've been looking for some peanut butter packets or something but haven't had much luck. I'm on a mission tomorrow to find more portable foods. I need about a week's worth of meals that don't require cooking...
  2. I picked up some of these squeeze fruit things today. I hope they are good . I got some pudding cups too. I prefer the Swiss Miss ones but these were the Snack whatever ones. They are gluten-free though so I'll take it.
  3. Well, not that it matters but I usually do but I was at Sam's getting other things and was going to pick up some frozen veges since I was out and they have a good price on them...and low and behold, I couldn't....
  4. SAMs club....all of their brands Made in a facility...some on shared equipment...
  5. That is probably what I will have to do...not sure what I'll eat for breakfast now though .
  6. Brown sugar I just opened to make the ribs and since opening is in a brand new storage container so that should be ok. I forgot coffee and coffee creamer, N-joy brand fake creamer but it says gluten-free online so who knows. The coffee is "Donut House" , not flavored, Keruig stuff. It's also hard to know if it's a response right away to what I'm eating...
  7. Something has been setting off my stomach the past couple days. I don't know if it's gluten or just maybe a bug of some kind?? I haven't eaten out, house is gluten-free so no idea what it could be. Only thing I can think of is maybe Rice Chex and maybe I just can't do rice for a while?? I've had rice chex with peaches the past couple days, Udi bread with...
  8. Technically corn is a vegetable, at least the ears are, but since it is harvested, it's in the grain class....but it's really actually a grass when you get down to it .
  9. Did they test your total IgA ? It's very possible that is low and you won't get a positive ttIgA, but could still have celiac. Your IgG is barely positive so it could be that you just haven't had it long enough to really spike. Do you have a listing of all of the tests they ran?
  10. Frozen vegetables.....seriously, why??
  11. I have 8 weeks of hotel continual hotel stays coming up---I hear you about trying to be gluten-free in a hotel. I was able to find an extended stay place for one week...still working on the rest of the time but the town I'll be in is all of 4000 people...
  12. You don't trust people I guess. I would not eat in a restaurant where people may not speak English or where there is so much possibility of cross contamination. It's just easier to not eat out unless I know they know how to be gluten-free. As for peanut allergies, yes, some restaurants know about that but they don't know all of the things that have hidden...
  13. I would stop baking with regular flour for your hubs too. Flour goes airborne and you can inhale the power and that is glutening your system. I was told my my dr's, nutritionist and dietitian that as long as you can wash the dishes well---hot water in a dishwasher, etc., they are fine. I wouldn't put gluten-free flour in a container that had been storing...
  14. The gene testing is not proof you have Celiac. Your positive response to the diet, suggests it is a possibility. What tests were actually run though--if you did not see a Celiac specialist, they may not have run the proper tests, thus the confusing diagnosis. It's also possible to be sensitive to gluten without having Celiac. The only way to know for...
  15. Open Original Shared Link I use these products. They are sulfate free as well as gluten free. They do not leave a film on your hair. The shampoo I have I need a tiny drop, pea sized, to lather in my hair. The conditioner I have has mint in it and I love the smell
  16. Not sure what I'm going to make tonight. Hubs has been working really late all week so I might just skip making anything tonight and just eat whatever
  17. I don't know if he wants to add chain type places but maybe add places like Red Robin--get their locations from their website?? They have fantastic gluten-free handling procedures.
  18. Well, given they didn't run the right tests it is hard to know but, I would say that a test with a range that is supposed to be less than 2 shows up with a 35.6, it's very positive, whatever it's testing for. My son just had labs run and they ran a bunch of allergy tests and none of the actual Celiac testing....made me REALLY mad!! so now he has to go in...
  19. I've been very surprised at the lack of gluten free options at hospitals. When I was at my last appointments, Mayo Clinic even, I could eat yogurt....they had shelf of gluten-free food, cans of soup, some cookies, etc. but nothing in the hot line that was gluten-free. I was at another hospital doing some research and they listed gluten-free food on the...
  20. Those are the meals I usually end up eating, but you can only do that for so many meals without getting sick from the junk too. Just got notice I'll be going out of town earlier than planned next week. Looked up hotel options on my work travel site--um, NO hotels in town...not a good sign!!! Tried to find an extended stay type place, no luck. Searched...
  21. Open Original Shared Link Twigs Tavern and Grille 401 6th St. SW Rochester, MN 55902 owner is Celiac
  22. I've never heard of red corn..sounds really good!! I have ribs out for dinner. Hubs will be home really late so I may do two batches of them so they are fresh when he gets home.
  23. FANTASTIC NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Yes, you have to not eat certain foods, much like prep for surgery, and then you do breath tests.
