  1. ahhhh....clever I have 2 crock-pots and never got into the habit of using them!
  2. Ok, made the pasta dish, added in the beef, some brussel sprouts, broccoli, carrots, red pepers, mixed some Penzey's Buttermilk Ranch spice mix in with some sour cream and added some spaghetti noodles. It was pretty good!!! A some dry white wine would have been good to cook into this too.
  3. I keep seeing KFG..what is that?
  4. chocolate mayonnaise gluten-free cake..... recipe please
  5. That sounds good!!! I have some left over spaghetti noodles in the fridge. I have some frozen mixed veges that would work! I have a gluten-free baguette I need to use up too.....sounds like a winner!!!
  6. Thanks, so far my symptoms pre/post diagnosis are mild compared to most--mostly just more frequent trips to the bathroom for a day or so and some discomfort in my stomach. I felt kind of off last night but didn't know why....then I looked this morning as the D came back and though, I bet I ate gluten yesterday. Took me a while to find the offending food...
  7. I'm sorry but you are incorrect. Yes, the GENE testing will be there, but the bloodwork will not if you are not eating gluten. There is a huge difference!!
  8. I'm lucky in that it is just hubs and I at home now and he said gluten-free was fine with him. He can eat the gluten stuff when we go out for dinner or away from home but everything here is gluten-free now. With kids, it's hard to say. If she wants to make her own lunch and such, maybe a separate area in the house where she could have her own "kitchen...
  9. I know the feeling....heck with stickers, give me a margarita .....gluten-free of course
  10. I checked, I thought, to see if a certain candy...Trolli Bright Crawlers...were gluten-free....I saw the list but MISSED that they were on the unsafe list.....explains my stomach this morning!!
  11. Not sure what to make tonight . I have some leftover beef roast, maybe some soup...maybe not-not sure if I have anything else to put in the soup . Maybe beef tacos
  12. We had a store a couple miles from our old house---I miss that store
  13. So Sad--such a talented man. Sounds like his depression got the best of him and he committed suicide. Just so sad!!
  14. Did you end up going to the Dr or ER? How are things today?
  15. I've mainly noticed more firm stools, still not totally firm, but not D either. I also have way less gas production . I'm not AS tired but I also have some heart thing going on so it might be more of the cause of that. Brain fog is still there but I'm rolling my eyes at myself much less . I really didn't have any symptoms that I noticed except the D-...
  16. I'd see a specialist but in my non-doctor opinion, you have Celiac with a positive blood test like that. Now, if it was 11 and the biopsy was questionable, maybe, maybe not, but with a 55 its a pretty done deal. Problem is, you have to start eating gluten again for them to re-test, for several weeks. Do you want to do that?
  17. I have pork chops out, not sure what I'm going to do with them yet, maybe grill them.
  18. In every range I've seen, 55 on a ttg IGA is a strong positive. What was the range for your labs. Why did he say you do not have Celiac??
  19. I was going to ask the same thing, what was your total IgA number-and your other lab numbers?
  20. I agree, you are very positive, especially since you were not consuming much gluten leading up to the tests. I would be extra vigilant to make sure you are not consuming hidden gluten in other foods though too.
  21. Yes, you would have to consume gluten for both the lab work and the endoscope to be accurate, although, if you have enough damage in your intestines there is an off chance they may find it without eating gluten, but they might not even perform the test without you eating gluten.
  22. You need to see a celiac specialist. Sounds like they were testing you for immune deficientcy not celiac.
  23. Very bloody stools are something to call your doctor about--"some" blood might be associated with gluten issues but very bloody is something you should go to the ER for. Go to a better ER if you have to.
  24. Just put my beef roast on the rotisserie . Doing some baked potatoes and zucchini with the roast.
  25. Toast with butter or just a little bit of peanut butter will work and be soft--just don't toast until crispy.
