  1. If you were not eating gluten when you had your lab work done, the tests are not accurate.
  2. If you are biopsy positive-you have Celiac...the blood tests would be nice but I don't know with your medical history that I would chance a gluten challenge. Ask the dr to make sure though.
  3. The blood tests are very accurate if you are eating gluten when they are performed--which it sounds like you were. There are over 300 symptoms for Celiac and even then, some people have no symptoms. When is your scope scheduled?
  4. I agree with Laura, get your total IgG, including subclasses tested and see if those are normal. I'm going to guess they are not, and that at minimum, you are low in sub-class 2--which helps fight off all the upper-respiratory stuff.
  5. It sounds possible that you have Celiac, but the issue now is you would have to start eating gluten to get tested to know for sure, for 6+ weeks. Do you want to go that route? If not, just accept you can't eat gluten and as long as you are feeling well, there is nothing to worry about.
  6. Open Original Shared Link . I emailed them and they are totally gluten-free. "Thanks so much for your interest in our spices. You may be happy to know that spices are naturally gluten-free, and we do not use any wheat, rye, oats, or barley in any of our products. Ingredients are clearly listed on our seasonings as well. We are in the process of testing...
  7. Hubs just improvised some "cookies". He mixed rice chex, chocolate chex with some peanut butter and corn syrup and rolled them into balls. It's really good. Kind of like a special K bar but softer and no frosting, but the chocolate chex gives you the chocolate frosting taste!
  8. Hubs wants to grill some fish and make fish tacos. I don't do fish so I'll cook up some chicken. Went to the farmer's market so I'm going to make http://ifoodreal.com/parmesan-zucchini-sticks-recipe/ for lunch.
  9. I bought a toaster over that has a rotisserie option. I've made one chicken so far--sure was tasty!!!! I'm going to try doing a beef roast, probably tomorrow, and see how that goes on there. It's kind of a pain to get the meat on the spit, but I need to buy some cooking twine and that will help.
  10. I tried the Schar shelf-stable bread, wasn't impressed. It's ok toasted but I like Udi's toasted better.
  11. Amy's Shepard's Pie. It's not bad. I was busy all day so I didn't take anything out for dinner so it works.
  12. Open Original Shared Link Your hormones are so whacky in pregnancy that who knows what is causing the outbreak but I would generally say just being pregnant is the cause.
  13. That is interesting. I've been hit or miss on the iron levels for years. Sometimes it's fine, low normal but normal, other times it's just slightly below normal levels and I've been told to eat more red meat. I've usually just written it off to an abnormally heavy cycle or whatever. My levels in June were on the low end of normal again, 33 on a scale...
  14. yes, you can see if you have a lab testing center near you and call them. From what I've seen it's in the $150 range depending on the tests. Check with your insurance to find one in network to keep your costs down. The other option is diving to a better clinic somewhere and getting a full physical and testing done.
  15. I would double check that your total IgA and IgG levels are normal before accepting that you do not have Celiac but if those are normal, then it's likely that you do not.
  16. That is a pretty for sure positive. I've recently been diagnosed as well and this board is very helpful. Biggest thing is getting your house gluten-free or getting a zone in your kitchen gluten-free at least. It's surprising how gluten hides in food and getting into the habit of reading every label takes a bit of work. I'm on week 2 of being totally gluten...
  17. Have you changed your detergent, soap or anything that would bring this on? I'm sure they asked you all of that but something is causing this. It looks miserable. How about a new sun screen or anything like that?
  18. Interesting how these things pop up in pregnancy...my thyroid when when I was pregnant as well, but I was 29. Looking back, it was probably when my Celiacs started as well..infrequent symptoms but maybe kicked it off. The last 7-10 years have been daily symptoms, mostly just D but still.

    ARCHIVED So Hungry

What are you eating each day?
  20. Thanks!! I bookmarked that page the list was on!! Does anyone have a substitute for the French Fried Onions that you use on Green Bean Casserole and such?
  21. No rush!!!! I won't get to any baking anytime soon!! Good luck with the freshman thing. Pack 1/2 as much as she wants to, unless it's a boy, then add stuff to the pile
  22. Post away!!!! I feel like I'm learning to cook all over again--even though I haven't had to change THAT much, it's making me think a lot more in the kitchen then I've had to. I had some gluten-free waffles this morning and normally I would have syrup but because of my calorie restrictions, I had to come up with something else so I warmed up some fresh fruit...
  23. Hubs' Dad gave him $20 when he dropped him off freshman year of college....he came home with $19 of it at the end of the year.. He HATES to spend money . He likes to bake mostly cookies, bars, that kind of thing. He said this is a good excuse not to bake for a while because we both could stand to lose a few pounds . A good friend of mine is diabetic...
  24. I'd call around and find a dermatologist that is experienced with DH and go there. Make sure they know you are having major acute symptoms so they get you in faster!! Do you have a major teaching hospital/clinic anywhere near you--that might be the best place to start.
  25. It might not be your lip stuff or make up at all--it could be something else your lips are coming in contact with too, not sure what though --or a food allergy. Do you have photos you can post? That might help someone identify what is going on.
